Her work ensures these programs are accessible, impactful, and tailored to the unique needs of the community.  Beyond her role with RPITF, Kali is a cultural entrepreneur, passionately teaching and preserving the art of Fijian tapa design, known as Masi, through community workshops and education. Her efforts help strengthen cultural identity and keep traditional practices alive for future generations.  Tonight, we're excited to dive into her work, her passion for cultural preservation, and the lasting impact of RPITF's initiatives. Annie her family and friends call her Lydia. She's Samoan and Black, born and raised in San Francisco's Potrero Hill Projects. Annie is a proud mother of two and has been an operator with Muni/SFMTA for nearly 10 years. She started on buses, then moved to trolleys, Muni Light Rail (trains), and now she's a GripWoman on SF Cable Cars. She is the 6th woman in the 150-year Cable Car history to become a Grip

Tiana Nonosina Liufau is a UCLA graduate from the Department of World Arts & Cultures, holding Bachelor of Arts degrees in Cultural Studies and Dance. With an impressive portfolio as a choreographer, Tiana has made significant contributions to the entertainment industry. She has worked as the choreographer for both the original Moana film and its highly anticipated sequel, Moana 2, slated for release in November 2024. Currently, Tiana is also serving as the choreographer for the live-action adaptation of Moana, which is currently in production. Additionally, she has showcased her talents on "So You Think You Can Dance," further solidifying her reputation as a leading figure in the world of dance.

The Polynesian Heritage Awards winners and event is discussed as well as the Fealofani 3T event; both happened on 5/4.

The show focuses on the Samoan culture and the Pacific Islanders who were drafted and signed as undrafted free agents in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The 3 T's; tupulaga, talavou, tula'i are the pillars of Fealofani, a youth program focused on culture, art and dance.  Their instructors and members come on to talk about their May 4th show at Sala Burton High School in San Francisco.
