Gypsy Wagon
Here is a simple Gypsy Style tune in D Harmonic minor. I learned this from Mary Ann Harbar's Gypsy Violin Basics book.
-
Habits
Warning, No fiddle content here. Just a new song I've written in the aftermath of losing my wife to cancer a few months ago, about finding comfort in habits that develop over the years, but don't mean the same thing now. You might find it amusing, you might not, I'm not really sure.
-

The Missouri Waltz on Cigar Box Fiddle
Celebrating the Cigar Box Fiddle's 3rd year in existence, and since the cigar box came from a little antique shop in Missouri, the Missouri Waltz seemed appropriate. I keep filing on the bass bar(which I made way too big to begin with) and the sound seems to keep getting better.

This Road
I think This is a great song written by Ryan Cornett (MileStretch) of Manchester KY about 22 miles east of London where I live. Ryan performed vocals, played Banjo and Guitar. I recorded the Fiddle track at home and sent it to him via DROPBOX. He copied and pasted into his recording software....

Geordie
Traditional song collected by Francis James Child #209 of 305 on the late 19th cent. most probably from a broadsheet. Made popular in the 60's by Baez and McColl

Allie Cain's Rant
Allie Cain was a wonderful girl that I met in the Isle of Mann while we were on tour there. Love the person - loved the name. Another bit of English fiddling, though not too much Manx about it.
-
Daunse Moirrey
English fiddling again, though it sounds a bit Irish. The title is Manx and means Val's Dance. Val is the choreographer for our women's Manx Morris team. Lovely girl.
-
Unknown. Need name please

The Flowers Of Edinburgh/Swinging On A Gate/Miss McCleod's
This is a slightly sketchy recording of some tunes I recently remembered from my folk tune repertoire as a child. Recently I've been trying to learn more Bluegrass, Old Time and Swing stuff but thought I'd have a go some old Scottish tunes after browsing this site. Not sure if I've...
-
Metsakukkia- lite
peppier than my first version
-
Jack Tar
This is an old Nova Scotia folk song of a sailor's adventures ashore. There are eight verses to the song but I've only played it through twice(two verses). It has a slow rhythm to it which makes it different from other traditional songs.
-
The lake Remembers Your Name
Folk song about growing up on a lake in western New Brunswick. Melody inspired by playing waltz two step fiddle tunes.
-
Sleeping Ada
Here's a tune inspired by Janie Rothfield from her Ifiddle, theyBanjo album. I have a banjo friend who also likes this tune and we've been working on it a bit. This is just me on 1st and 2nd fiddle. When Gary and I get something working I'll record a fiddle/banjo version.
-
Whisky Before Breakfast
This is just a tune I really like.

Lost Indian
Here's my slowed down version of Lost Indian. This is the speed I enjoy playing it at, even though I can play it 100 miles per hour. I think the wails of the lost indian are heard better at a slower speed.
-
Cherokee Shuffle
Here's an old time version. I made a homemade cd and this is one of the tunes I put on it. Hope you enjoy it.
