Jacob Vanderslice: The Discipline Behind Smart Real Estate Investing

Jacob Vanderslice is a co-founder and Principal at VanWest Partners, a Denver-based real estate investment company specializing in the acquisition, development, and management of self-storage facilities. Under his fundraising leadership, VanWest has strategically deployed over $375 million in capital in value-add self-storage facilities across the United States. In this episode, Leonard and Jacob Vanderslice discuss:Why disciplined investing sometimes means saying no to nearly every deal in the marketHow Van West evaluates self-storage opportunities through supply, rents, and downside riskThe difference between investing directly in real estate versus investing passively with an operatorWhat leverage, interest rates, and lower loan proceeds mean for today’s real estate returnsWhy operator quality can matter as much as the asset itself in private equity investingKey Takeaways: In a difficult market, discipline is often defined by what you choose not to buy. Van West reviewed more than 900 acquisition opportunities, modeled about 250, and purchased just one.Value-add investing often comes from relentless attention to operational details. Small savings on expenses, taxes, contracts, and inefficiencies can compound into meaningful increases in net operating income and asset value.Passive real estate investing gives investors access to experienced operators, tax benefits, and income potential without the time, capital, and management burden of owning property directly. In today’s market, higher interest rates, lower leverage, and reduced loan proceeds have changed return expectations. Investors and operators must adapt to a more conservative environment.Strong underwriting begins with the downside. Great operators spend less time chasing the story for winning and more time understanding how a deal could go wrong and how to reduce that risk upfront. “Leverage is a wonderful and terrifying thing. Leverage, when used appropriately, can really increase your deal returns, but when used inappropriately, it can exponentially increase your risk profile at the same time.” - Jacob VandersliceConnect with Jacob Vanderslice:Website: https://www.vanwestpartners.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jacob-vanderslice-02905b16b/ Connect with Leonard Raskin:Website: https://www.raskinglobal.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/leonardraskin/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RaskinGlobal Email: [email protected] notes by Podcastologist: Francine PobleteAudio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. She also works closely with lawyers— especially those ready to go solo or restructure their practices—offering strategic coaching, systems consulting, and speaking engagements for law firms looking to prevent burnout, increase retention, and foster sustainable success. In this episode, Leonard and Wendy Meadows discuss:Mediation can often produce similar outcomes to litigation, but with less cost, stress, and timeThe most common financial mistakes people make when dividing assets during divorceWhy financial advisors are essential in showing whether a divorce settlement is actually sustainableHow identity loss and emotional stress impact professionals during major life transitionsThe warning signs of burnout and practical ways to recover from itKey Takeaways: Divorce is often the largest financial transaction a person will experience in their lifetime. Without careful planning and professional guidance, simple decisions about assets, retirement accounts, or housing can create long-term financial consequences. Many couples believe they can save money by managing the divorce process themselves. In reality, DIY financial decisions, such as improperly liquidating retirement accounts, can trigger unnecessary taxes or penalties.Mediation can help couples resolve disputes faster and with less cost and friction than traditional litigation, even when the final buckets of division may look similar.Financial advisors play an essential role in helping divorcing clients understand long-term outcomes. Detailed projections and planning tools can reveal whether a settlement is truly sustainable for both parties.Burnout is a normal part of high-pressure careers, but recognizing the warning signs early makes recovery easier. Simple practices like journaling, movement, and structured daily planning can restore clarity and momentum. “I have a baseline belief that everyone will be okay and everyone has the tools to be okay.” - Wendy MeadowsConnect with Wendy Meadows:Website: https://www.sparkleandgrit.com/ & https://wendysmeadows.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/wendy-sare-meadows-ba80285/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100072318214998 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wendy_s_meadows/ Grab Wendy’s free sparkle & GRIT Playbook: https://www.sparkleandgrit.com/playbook Connect with Leonard Raskin:Website: https://www.raskinglobal.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/leonardraskin/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RaskinGlobal Email: [email protected] notes by Podcastologist: Francine PobleteAudio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. Todd Langford: Conscious Calculations and the Truth Behind Financial Math

Todd Langford is the founder, CEO, and lead developer of Truth Concepts, a financial modeling and education platform used by thousands of advisors across the United States. For more than 30 years, Todd has been at the forefront of financial software development and professional training and is widely regarded as an industry expert in financial mathematics and modeling. He has trained thousands of financial professionals to use software and analytical tools more effectively in building strategies for their clients. Todd is also the author of the upcoming book Conscious Calculations, which explores the deeper mathematics behind financial decision-making and encourages advisors to think more intentionally about money, risk, and long-term stewardship. In this episode, Leonard and Todd Langford discuss:Why financial planning requires more than simply chasing higher rates of returnThe importance of understanding the time value of money in financial decisionsHow opportunity cost shapes long-term wealth outcomesWhy access to cash and liquidity can protect against financial shocksThe difference between “black swan” and “gray swan” events and how to prepare for themKey Takeaways: Financial math is essential, but it cannot be the only factor guiding decisions. Advisors must combine accurate calculations with real-world context, risk management, and a deep understanding of client goals.Opportunity cost is one of the most overlooked forces in personal finance. Every dollar spent or redirected represents future compounded growth that may never materialize.Liquidity provides flexibility during uncertain times. Having access to cash can allow individuals to weather downturns, avoid forced selling, and even capitalize on opportunities when markets decline.Financial planning must consider both sides of the mountain. Advisors often focus on accumulation, but the real goal is sustainable income and cash flow during retirement.Technology can calculate outcomes, but it cannot understand people. Advisors must interpret financial math through the lens of client goals, risk tolerance, and life circumstances. “The ability to save is way more important than chasing a rate of return.”- Todd LangfordConnect with Todd Langford:Website: http://www.truthconcepts.com  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/truthconceptssoftware/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/todd.langford.58/ Connect with Leonard Raskin:Website: https://www.raskinglobal.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/leonardraskin/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RaskinGlobal Email: [email protected] notes by Podcastologist: Francine PobleteAudio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. Leaders who embrace failure grow stronger.Organizational excellence requires clarity. If performance standards and responsibilities are not clearly defined, people cannot achieve excellence.CEOs need community. Peer advisory groups provide perspective, accountability, and practical advice that can save companies significant time and money.Mental health impacts every workplace. Leaders must recognize that personal and professional challenges are interconnected.AI will not replace leaders, but leaders who understand how to leverage AI will outperform those who ignore it. “Only through failure will you become a success.”- Douglas StrouseConnect with Douglas Strouse:Website: http://Ceoclubofbaltimore.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/douglas-a-strouse-ph-d-63a17a/ Email: [email protected] Phone: 410-218-9777Connect with Leonard Raskin:Website: https://www.raskinglobal.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/leonardraskin/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RaskinGlobal Email: [email protected] notes by Podcastologist: Francine PobleteAudio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. He is the husband of one and father of four, a committed follower of Jesus Christ who is deeply involved in his church, and someone who can often be found investing time with his family, reading a great book, or facilitating growth in the lives of those around him. In this episode, Leonard and Michael DeLon discuss:Why publishing a book instantly elevates credibility beyond credentials and certificationsWhy AI-generated books fail to build authentic trust and connectionHow books shorten the sales cycle and strengthen prospect relationshipsThe power of audiobooks and podcasting in building emotional connectionHow credibility marketing helps professionals in high-trust industries (financial advisors, attorneys, mortgage lenders, consultants, and more) stand outKey Takeaways: In high-trust industries, credentials are table stakes, but authorship creates differentiation and authority.AI may generate information, but it cannot replicate personal stories, voice, or emotional connection, the true drivers of trust. An audiobook and podcast extend your platform, allowing prospects to bond with your voice and philosophy before ever meeting you. When prospects read your book before the first appointment, it feels like a second or third meeting, dramatically shortening the sales cycle.Books have a shelf life. Even if someone doesn’t read it immediately, your authority remains visible and accessible long after the initial conversation. “Never write a book. A Fortune 500 leader, entrepreneur, author, and father, Dalmo actively contributes to the leadership space through articles, media appearances, and workshops while continuing work on The 4 Streams of Leadership. In this episode, Leonard and Dalmo Cirne discuss:How mathematics and systems thinking shape leadership and product strategyWhy communication of intent matters more than prescribing executionLeadership challenges across startups, mid-sized companies, and enterprisesRisk management, trust, and reproducibility in products and servicesThe role of AI, automation, and data sensitivity in financial and fiduciary environmentsKey Takeaways: Leadership is not a static role but a constant flow of responsibilities that requires balance, awareness, and adaptability. The most effective leaders focus first on managing themselves before managing teams, operations, or stakeholders.Clear communication of intent empowers teams to innovate, adapt, and reach outcomes without being constrained by rigid instructions.Automation and AI are not inherently dangerous, but overreliance without reassessing assumptions can erode trust and credibility.Sustainable growth depends on knowing when to introduce processes—too early stifles innovation, too late creates chaos and inconsistency. “Leadership is about effectiveness, then efficiency.”- Dalmo CirneConnect with Dalmo Cirne:Website: https://dalmocirne.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/dalmocirne/ Substack: https://dalmocirne.substack.com/ X: https://x.com/dalmocirneBook - The Four Streams of Leadership: https://the4streamsofleadership.com  Connect with Leonard Raskin:Website: https://www.raskinglobal.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/leonardraskin/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RaskinGlobal Email: [email protected] notes by Podcastologist: Francine PobleteAudio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. Based in Nashville, Jason lives the #ExitLifestyle he teaches, enjoying true freedom with his family while his businesses run and grow without him.In this episode, Leonard and Jason Duncan discuss:Why owner-dependent businesses destroy freedom, value, and exit optionsThe “hero syndrome” and how it keeps entrepreneurs trapped inside their companiesWhy delegation, trust, and discipline are the real barriers to growthThe XOS Method and the seven stages of exiting without exitingIdentity, purpose, and mindset challenges business owners face after stepping awayKey Takeaways: Starting a freedom business often leads to the opposite outcome when the owner becomes the system instead of building one.Any part of a business that relies on the owner automatically reduces its value in the eyes of buyers, lenders, and investors.Delegation fails not because people are incapable, but because leaders are unwilling to let others learn through failure.Viewing your company through a buyer’s lens changes how you hire, operate, scale, and plan for the future.True wealth isn’t about selling a business. It’s about having the choice to sell, stay, or step away entirely. “Any system in a business that relies on the owner will devalue the company.” - Jason DuncanConnect with Jason Duncan:Website: https://www.therealjasonduncan.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/therealjasonduncan/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/therealjasonduncan YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@TheRealJasonDuncan  Free Webinar: https://exiter.club/ Connect with Leonard Raskin:Website: https://www.raskinglobal.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/leonardraskin/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RaskinGlobal Email: [email protected] notes by Podcastologist: Francine PobleteAudio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. Patrick grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota, and currently lives in Eden Prairie with his wife, Anne, and their three children. In this episode, Leonard and Patrick discuss:How Patrick’s early fascination with pricing and value shaped his career in valuation and investingWhy future vision, not historical performance, is the biggest driver of business valueHow Hill Capital fills the “capital gap” between bank financing and venture capitalWhy community, advisors, and peer networks are critical to entrepreneurial successHow advisors can help business owners unlock underrecognized levers of long-term valueKey Takeaways: Business value is created by what a company can become, not simply by what it has already done.Vision-driven entrepreneurs unlock greater valuation by clearly articulating where their product or service fits in the future market.Capital is not just about cost; it’s about structure, expectations, and alignment with long-term goals.Predatory lending options can quietly destroy businesses through hidden fees and cash-flow strain.Strong advisory communities and peer networks often make the difference during a company’s most difficult moments.“The breakout is the opportunity for someone to get paid of what's going to happen in the future versus what has happened in the past.”- Patrick DonohueConnect with Patrick Donohue:Website: https://www.hillcapitalcorp.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/patrickedonohue/ Additional Resource: https://www.breakoutvaluation.com/Book: Breakout ValuationEmail: [email protected]  Connect with Leonard Raskin:Website: https://www.raskinglobal.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/leonardraskin/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RaskinGlobal Email: [email protected] notes by Podcastologist: Francine PobleteAudio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. Kia Arian is the creative force behind Zine, a boutique marketing agency that helps attorneys, entrepreneurs, and service-based professionals turn leads into loyal fans through high-touch, high-trust, human marketing. Since 2005, Kia has championed the power of tangible marketing, newsletters, postcards, books, magazines, and “shock and awe” packages to break through digital noise and build lasting client relationships. By blending timeless strategy with soulful storytelling, her agency creates printed campaigns that feel like a gift, while delivering meaningful, measurable results. In this episode, Leonard and Kia discuss:Why marketing in trust-based industries has become commoditized and how professionals can truly stand outThe strategic power of print marketing in a digital-first, overcrowded landscapeHow storytelling and personal brand create trust without violating compliance rulesWhy do most professionals underprice their work by selling process instead of outcomesHow advisors and attorneys can increase retention and referrals by going deeper with existing clientsKey Takeaways: In highly competitive, trust-based industries, shouting louder online is no longer effective; differentiation comes from clarity, presence, and personal story.Print marketing works precisely because fewer professionals are willing to use it, making it less crowded and more impactful.Professionals don’t need better tactics; they need better positioning rooted in outcomes, not processes.Personal story is not unprofessional. It is the most powerful trust-building asset a fiduciary or attorney has.Raising fees becomes possible when clients buy transformation and clarity, not documents or transactions. “Your story is the most powerful asset you have.”- Kia ArianConnect with Kia Arian:Website: www.zinemarketing.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kiaarian/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/kiaarianInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/karia_baby/ Podcast: The Results-Driven Life by DesignOther Resources: https://www.zinemarketing.com/practice_areas/brand.cfm, https://www.zinemarketing.com/reports/the-zine-newsletter-package.cfm, https://www.zinemarketing.com/practice_areas/books-and-guides.cfm Email: [email protected] Connect with Leonard Raskin:Website: https://www.raskinglobal.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/leonardraskin/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RaskinGlobal Email: [email protected] notes by Podcastologist: Francine PobleteAudio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. For most people, it represents safety, trust, control, belonging, or freedom.Advisors who talk only to “the money” (spreadsheets, plans, projections) miss the deeper issues driving client decisions. Our money behaviors are often rooted in childhood experiences, long before logic or financial education enters the picture.Open, honest conversations about money, free from shame and judgment, create healthier families and stronger financial outcomes.Compassion is critical: growth begins when people realize there’s nothing “wrong” with them for struggling with money. “Money isn't finance. John Kailunas is a first-generation immigrant and visionary leader in financial services with a career spanning more than three decades. Since starting in 1988, he has built a multi-billion-dollar ecosystem that includes Regal Financial Group, Regal Investment Advisors, Regulus Financial Group, LionShare, and Catalyst for Growth, a professional development platform for advisors.Under John’s leadership, Regal has received national recognition, including being named a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year and winning WealthManagement.com’s Outstanding Practice Management Award. He has appeared twice on InvestmentNews’ “Hot List” of top U.S. financial advisors and is widely respected as a coach, mentor, and industry builder.John’s philosophy centers on independence, integrity, and innovation, along with creating aligned, ethical, and mutually profitable relationships that last.In this episode, Leonard and John discuss:How Regal Financial Group grew into a national multi-entity platform serving independent advisorsWhy independence, integrity, and innovation anchor every decision John makesWhat John learned from a difficult SEC experience and how it reshaped complianceWhy retirement shouldn’t mean “disengagement,” and how purpose drives longevityThe importance of alignment, ethics, and relationships in financial leadershipKey Takeaways: Values drive growth. Independence, integrity, and innovation aren’t slogans; they shape culture, decisions, and advisor relationships.Advisors often struggle most with prospecting early and scaling later; both require clear processes and support systems.Regulatory friction is real, but resilience and better systems can turn painful experiences into stronger firms.Retirement without purpose leads to disengagement; meaningful mission, relationships, and activity are essential to quality of life.Great leadership means building platforms where advisors can thrive without sacrificing independence or ethics. “If you spend time with five ding dongs, you're going to be the sixth. When the body is strong and healthy, it fuels mindset, resilience, and presence.Communication and relationships are true markers of wellness. Even small acts of connection can reshape both professional and personal outcomes.Retirement should be seen as a continuation, not an end. Living fully requires financial security paired with physical vitality.Fear and hesitation can paralyze progress. Strength is discovered in facing challenges across work, health, and relationships.Leadership wellness is far from “soft.” Building strength, confidence, and resilience determines whether leaders merely survive or truly thrive.“If you are strong and secure, physically and financially, and you have the people. A graduate of the London School of Economics, he recently introduced the Elm Market Navigator ETF (NYSE: ELM) to bring Dynamic Index Investing® to all investors. In this episode, Leonard and Victor discuss:Victor’s pivotal shift from hedge funds to index investingDynamic Index Investing®: blending passive and activeSurprising lessons from investor psychology experimentsWhy generational wealth often disappears (The Missing Billionaires)Smarter ways to cut taxes, fees, and emotional mistakesKey Takeaways:Victor’s turning point came when he recognized the heavy tax burdens and complexity of alternative investments. That realization pushed him toward a simpler, more efficient path with index funds. There is no such thing as a fully passive approach. Asset allocation must adapt dynamically to market conditions and each investor’s unique tolerance for risk.Even seasoned finance professionals often choose low-cost, diversified portfolios for their personal savings. For them, simplicity and sustainability outweigh the chase for alpha.Generational wealth rarely lasts forever. Concentrated bets, rigid spending habits, and small compounding mistakes over decades are usually what erode fortunes.Expanding financial education and clearer communication can save investors from avoidable errors. Demystifying personal investing makes it more approachable for everyone.“The best investment strategy is the one you're going to stick with, I think there's a lot of depth in that, because ultimately, if you're going to stick with something over a long time, it has to be sensible. Brian Herriot: Why Time Freedom Matters More Than Financial Freedom

Brian Herriot is an author, speaker, financial advisor, and entrepreneurship coach. Heoffers a new and different take on wealth-building, lifestyle design, and retirement, building customized, comprehensive Time Freedom Forecasts for his clients in just oneday. Brian is working toward a world where everyone has the time and support to definewhat success means to them, and focus on building character over building resumes. In this episode, Leonard and Brian Herriot discuss:Why time freedom may be more meaningful than traditional financial independenceHow entrepreneurs can restructure their businesses to gain control over their schedulesThe mindset shift required to stop delaying life until retirementPractical strategies for creating “seasonal schedules” and reclaiming timeHow financial planning and investment strategies must adapt to support earlier lifestyle freedomKey Takeaways: Time freedom flips the traditional retirement model by prioritizing control over time today instead of waiting decades for financial independence. By structuring work intentionally, individuals can experience many of the benefits of freedom long before retirement age.Entrepreneurs often pursue business ownership for flexibility, yet many end up creating demanding jobs for themselves. Reorganizing responsibilities, delegating tasks, and adjusting work structures can help reclaim the freedom they originally sought.Small changes to a schedule, such as taking regular extended weekends or structured time off, can gradually build toward significant lifestyle freedom. Over time, these incremental adjustments can result in months of reclaimed time each year.Financial planning for time freedom requires thinking differently about liquidity and access to money. If individuals plan to use their time earlier in life, they must balance investments that grow wealth with funds that remain accessible.Taking extended breaks from daily work can improve creativity and strategic thinking. Stepping away from day-to-day often gives entrepreneurs the perspective needed to grow their businesses more effectively. “Instead of doing financial freedom and then time freedom, just do time freedom and let the financial freedom work in the background.”- Brian HerriotConnect with Brian Herriot:Website: www.herriotfinancial.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/brianherriot/ Email: [email protected] Time Freedom Calculator: www.timefreedomcalculator.com Book: https://timefreedom.life/book/ Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-time-freedom-podcast/id1676158930 Connect with Leonard Raskin:Website: https://www.raskinglobal.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/leonardraskin/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RaskinGlobal Email: [email protected] notes by Podcastologist: Francine PobleteAudio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. As a financial advisor’s daughter turned exercise physiologist and certified wellness coach, she blends decades of scientific expertise with real‑world experience to help advisors retire “wellthy.” After a life‑altering health crisis in Australia, Stevyn repurposed core financial principles—like diversification, tracking metrics, and long‑term thinking—into her signature WellthPLAN™ and WellthCLUB™ programs. An award‑winning speaker and recognized by WealthManagement.com as a “Ten to Watch in 2023,” she continues to inspire advisors to reclaim their health and enjoy the wealth they’ve built. In this episode, Leonard and Stevyn discuss:How a near-death health crisis reshaped Stevyn’s view of wealth and wellnessThe concept of “health debt” and its parallels to financial debtWhy advisors need to view health as an asset and integrate it into financial planningThe WellthPLAN™ framework and how financial principles like diversification and compounding apply to healthPractical first steps advisors and clients can take to measure and improve their healthKey Takeaways:Retirement readiness isn’t just about accumulating money—it’s equally about protecting and growing your health assets so you can enjoy the wealth you’ve built.Think of stress management and quality sleep as daily bills you must pay; if left unpaid, the “interest” compounds in ways that harm your long-term health.Health debt doesn’t happen overnight; it builds gradually from poor habits and, if ignored, can quietly sabotage your retirement plans.Movement isn’t a quick trade-off for indulgence—it’s an investment that produces compounding returns in strength, energy, and longevity.By framing health through the same lens as financial planning, advisors can apply familiar strategies like diversification, metrics, and compounding to create sustainable well-being.“A lot of people come into their adult life and their career with really great health, and by the end of their career, it's completely swapped. They've got a full bank account and an empty health account. I call it the big swap, and we do not want to do this, because your retirement without your health will not be super fantastic.”- Stevyn GuinnipConnect with Stevyn Guinnip:Website: https://www.growwellthy.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/stevyn-guinnip/ Email: [email protected] Connect with Leonard Raskin:Website: https://www.raskinglobal.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/leonardraskin/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RaskinGlobal Email: [email protected]  Leonard’s BOOK: FiduciWho?: What a Real Fiduciary Will Tell You about How to Protect, Grow, Enjoy, and Transfer Your WealthShow notes by Podcastologist: Angelo Paul TagamaAudio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. Ian Chen: Save Money. Party Smarter. The Discotech Story

Ian Chen is the CEO and Co-Founder of Discotech, the nightlife and music festival discovery app used by over 1.8 million people, boasting a 4.9/5 rating on the iOS App Store. A UC Berkeley grad, Ian began his career at Bain & Company before moving into private equity at The Gores Group. In 2013, he launched Discotech to eliminate the friction of booking tables through human promoters. Today, the platform offers tickets, VIP access, and free guest list options at 1,400+ venues worldwide. Guided by the motto “Save Money, Party Smarter,” Ian’s mission is to make nightlife more accessible, efficient, and enjoyable for everyone. In this episode, Leonard and Ian discuss:How Ian went from private equity to creating the ultimate nightlife app, DiscotechBuilding a two-sided marketplace in the club and festival sceneThe power of freemium models and user referrals for growthSurviving the pandemic as a nightlife-focused businessThe future of Discotech: AI, personalization, and expanding beyond clubsKey Takeaways:Some of the best startup ideas are born from frustration — for Ian Chen, it was a ruined night in Vegas due to an unreliable promoter that sparked the vision for Discotech.Launching a mobile-first app in 2013 came with high costs and technical challenges, but being among the first in the nightlife tech space gave Discotech a valuable head start.Growth skyrocketed after the team expanded beyond bottle service to include free guest lists and discounted tickets, making the platform accessible to a much broader audience. The COVID-19 pandemic devastated the nightlife industry and nearly wiped out the company, but it also forced Ian and his team to operate leaner and more efficiently — ultimately strengthening their foundation.Discotech built loyalty by doing two things exceptionally well: helping users find events with ease and offering ways to party without breaking the bank — a combo that’s tough to beat.“Save money. Fritz Gilbert: Living The Retirement Manifesto

Fritz Gilbert is the founder of The Retirement Manifesto, an award-winning blog dedicated to “Helping People Achieve a Great Retirement.” He’s also the author of Keys to a Successful Retirement: Staying Happy, Active, and Productive in Your Retired Years. After a 33-year career in Corporate America, Fritz retired in 2018 at age 55 and now shares practical lessons to help others navigate their own retirement journey. He and his wife live in the Appalachian Mountains of Blue Ridge, Georgia, with their three dogs, where they also run Freedom for Fido, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that builds free dog fences for low-income families with chained pets.In this episode, Leonard and Fritz discuss:How Fritz launched The Retirement Manifesto blog and wrote 440+ articles on retirement strategyThe most overlooked yet critical element of retirement successWhy many retirees struggle with identity and purpose post-careerThe story behind Fritz and his wife founding the nonprofit “Freedom for Fido”The essential difference between “retirement” and “refirement”Key Takeaways:A fulfilling retirement doesn’t come from savings alone—it requires thoughtful planning around identity, structure, and a renewed sense of purpose. Without this preparation, many retirees find themselves unfulfilled despite being financially secure.Starting the mental and emotional preparation for retirement at least two to three years before leaving the workforce significantly increases the chances of a smooth and meaningful transition. It’s not just about the money—it’s about mindset.Think of retirement not as a finish line, but as the beginning of a new chapter filled with passion projects, adventure, and personal reinvention. It's the opportunity to finally do what lights you up—on your own terms. When you contribute your time and energy to causes that matter, like volunteering, you often discover deeper relationships and a renewed sense of connection. Giving back adds purpose that money simply can’t buy.Following your curiosity can unlock unexpected joys in retirement. For Fritz, that curiosity led to founding a nonprofit that builds fences for dogs—proof that passion often starts with a single step.“The number one key to a successful retirement is to start planning early—ideally two years out, one year at minimum. And don’t just focus on the financials. That’s a common mistake. You’ve got to expand your thinking into the non-financial areas as well.”- Fritz GilbertConnect with Fritz Gilbert:Websites: https://www.theretirementmanifesto.com/ , https://freedomforfido.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/fritzgilbert/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheRetirementManifesto Fritz’s Book: https://www.amazon.com/Keys-Successful-Retirement-Staying-Productive/dp/164611339X Connect with Leonard Raskin:Website: https://www.raskinglobal.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/leonardraskin/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RaskinGlobal Email: [email protected]  Leonard’s BOOK: FiduciWho?: What a Real Fiduciary Will Tell You about How to Protect, Grow, Enjoy, and Transfer Your WealthShow notes by Podcastologist: Angelo Paul TagamaAudio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. Paul Sippil: The 401(k) Industry’s Dirty Little Secret

Paul Sippil is a forensic retirement consultant who has been exposing hidden fees and conflicts of interest in the 401(k) industry since 2009. Specializing in plans with 300 or fewer participants, Paul helps sponsors and participants make smarter financial decisions through detailed analysis of cost, services, and technology. He’s reviewed thousands of 5500 forms and built a proprietary database tracking excessive fees across the Chicago area, giving him unique insight into what fair compensation truly looks like. From plan design to budgeting and tax strategy, Paul acts as a true fiduciary—committed to transparency, value, and a retirement system that puts people first. In this episode, Leonard and Paul discuss:Why small retirement plans are the most vulnerable to excessive feesHow hidden costs in 401(k)s go unnoticed by both employers and employeesThe difference between true fiduciary service and the industry status quoWhy flat-fee, transparent consulting beats asset-based pricingHow Paul’s passion for food transparency connects to financial transparencyKey Takeaways:Most small businesses unknowingly overpay for their 401(k) plans, simply because the fees are hidden in complex structures and rarely itemized in plain sight. This lack of visibility keeps employers from questioning or negotiating costs.A significant portion of advisor compensation comes from asset-based fees that don’t reflect the level of service provided. This creates a misalignment between what’s paid and the value delivered. One of the most effective ways to reduce risk and enhance transparency is for employers to directly cover administrative costs. Doing so shifts accountability and encourages more scrutiny of service provider fees.Regular touchpoints between advisors and employees—along with accessible planning tools like retirement calculators—empower participants to make better financial decisions. It’s not just about access; it’s about understanding and engagement.Fiduciary duty should go beyond checking boxes and complying with regulations. At its core, it means putting people first, ensuring that every decision made supports the financial well-being of plan participants.“If you're overpaying the service providers with the participants' money, that's actually putting you at greater risk of potential liability than you would have if you had no advisor at all.”- Paul SippilConnect with Paul Sippil:Website: https://www.paulsippil.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/paul-sippil-5141a47/ Connect with Leonard Raskin:Website: https://www.raskinglobal.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/leonardraskin/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RaskinGlobal Email: [email protected]  Leonard’s BOOK: FiduciWho?: What a Real Fiduciary Will Tell You about How to Protect, Grow, Enjoy, and Transfer Your WealthShow notes by Podcastologist: Angelo Paul TagamaAudio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. Each chapter of her career taught her to prepare for the unexpected.Investing in precious metals like gold and silver isn't just about profit—it’s a strategy rooted in preserving peace of mind and guarding against inflation and systemic risk.Employer pensions and hospital retirement plans aren't enough. Camille urges professionals, especially nurses, to take proactive steps in building personal safety nets through income protection tools.By combining her lived experiences with strategies like IULs, annuities, and private trusts, Camille helps families build generational wealth while shielding assets from taxes, lawsuits, and probate.True financial empowerment doesn’t start with money—it begins with education, intentional relationships, and the courage to break free from dependency on failing systems.“Please become financially educated—and really watch your inner circle. Jet Vertz is a retired aviation executive, US Navy veteran, author, and lifelong educator who embodies the American dream. Immigrating from Korea as a young boy with limited English, Jet rose through perseverance to become Vice President at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, a global leader in aerospace engineering. A Vietnam War-era Navy officer, he later earned degrees in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, and an MBA. Now based in Rhode Island, Jet teaches at the University of Rhode Island’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, where he leads the popular “Purpose Driven Retirement” workshop. In this episode, Leonard and Jet discuss:Choosing education over enlistment and returning to aerospace after Navy serviceVisionary leadership and risk-taking in engineering and beyondToday’s youth face tougher paths to achieving the American DreamRetirement success requires purpose, not just financial readinessJet’s workshop helps retirees rediscover meaning and directionKey Takeaways:Perseverance, a clear vision, and the courage to take calculated risks form the foundation of impactful leadership. These traits propelled Jet from humble beginnings to the executive boardroom. While the American Dream is still within reach, it now demands more resilience and creativity—especially for younger generations navigating rising costs and shifting opportunities.Retirement shouldn’t signal the end of ambition. Instead, it offers a unique opportunity to channel energy and experience into something deeply meaningful.Jet proves that finding purpose after retirement can be more challenging—and more rewarding—than navigating a career in aerospace. Helping others uncover that purpose has become his greatest mission.Financial preparation alone won’t lead to fulfillment. Without a strong sense of purpose, even the most comfortable retirement can feel directionless.“Make sure you are financially stable, so you don’t have to worry about money—then you can focus on doing three things: something for yourself, something for your family, and something for your community.”- Jet VertzConnect with Jet Vertz:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jetvertzprofile/ Email: [email protected] Jet’s Book: https://www.amazon.com/American-Dream-Jet-Vertz/dp/B0B4PDC7WM Connect with Leonard Raskin:Website: https://www.raskinglobal.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/leonardraskin/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RaskinGlobal Email: [email protected]  Leonard’s BOOK: FiduciWho?: What a Real Fiduciary Will Tell You about How to Protect, Grow, Enjoy, and Transfer Your WealthShow notes by Podcastologist: Angelo Paul TagamaAudio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. Steven Zeiger: The Prudent Guide to Life Insurance Strategy

Steven Zeiger is the Managing Director of Wealth Management at KB Financial and a nationally recognized authority on applying prudent investor guidelines to life insurance selection and portfolio management. Grounded in established asset management doctrines, Steven helps fiduciaries, attorneys, and ultra-high-net-worth families make compliant, data-driven decisions. Before joining KB Financial, he led marketing for a Texas-based firm specializing in Private Placement Life Insurance. Steven earned his BS in Business Administration with a Finance concentration from SUNY Albany and later received his advanced insurance degree from the Wharton School of Business—his mission: to bring transparency, research, and fiduciary discipline to life insurance. In this episode, Leonard and Steven discuss:Why life insurance is often misunderstood and mismanaged, even by fiduciariesHow to use independent research and benchmarks to compare insurance policiesThe risks of single-carrier policies and the importance of diversificationHow regulatory frameworks like the Uniform Prudent Investor Act apply to insuranceReal-life examples of clients overpaying millions due to a lack of transparency and oversightKey Takeaways:Too often, life insurance policies are purchased and forgotten—unlike investment portfolios that are reviewed regularly. Ongoing monitoring is essential to avoid costly mistakes and ensure alignment with evolving goals. It’s not just about what you pay in premiums; what really matters is the hidden internal cost structure of the policy. These expenses can dramatically affect both cash value growth and long-term performance.Putting all your life insurance with one carrier is a high-stakes gamble. Just like in investing, spreading risk across multiple strong insurers is a smart and necessary strategy.Regulatory bodies like FINRA and New York’s Regulation 187 make it clear: fiduciaries must act with care, diligence, and a foundation of unbiased, data-driven evaluation when recommending life insurance products.Third-party analysis from firms like Veralytic and Morningstar can uncover massive differences in policy costs—sometimes saving clients millions. These tools empower advisors to make truly informed decisions.“A $50 billion company will always have the upper hand—unless someone’s standing between them and the consumer. Brian Feroldi: Demystifying the Stock Market — Start Today!

Brian Feroldi is a financial educator, YouTuber, and author. He has been intensely interested in money, personal finance, and investing ever since he graduated from college. He started investing in 2004. In the beginning, he had no idea what he was doing and got his teeth kicked in. His returns improved dramatically as his experience and knowledge about the stock market grew. Brian’s career mission statement is “to demystify the stock market.” He loves to help other people do better with their investments. He has written over 3,000 articles on stocks, investing, and personal finance for the Motley Fool. In 2022, Brian’s best-selling book, Why Does The Stock Market Go Up?, was published. It was written to explain how the stock market works in plain English. In this episode, Leonard and Brian discuss:How Brian went from financial illiteracy to becoming a leading investing educatorThe inspiration and insights behind his best-selling book, Why Does the Stock Market Go Up?Why reading financial statements is essential for investors and business owners alikeThe dangers of investing without understanding, and how most people still do itHow beginners can start investing today with minimal money and zero excusesKey Takeaways:The stock market isn’t some mysterious force—it rises over time for reasons rooted in business growth, profits, and innovation. Once you understand the underlying mechanics, it becomes far less intimidating and much more empowering. You don’t need a degree in finance to become a successful investor. What truly matters is your willingness to stay curious, keep learning, and put in the effort to build your financial literacy.Surprisingly, many people—including seasoned professionals—can’t read a basic financial statement. This lack of understanding leads to poor decisions and missed opportunities in both investing and business.Trying to time the market is overrated—what matters more is simply starting. Even small, consistent investments made early on can compound into significant wealth over time.If the thought of analyzing individual stocks feels overwhelming, don’t force it. Opting for a low-cost, broad-based index fund is not only smarter for most people—it’s also more sustainable.“ There are quite literally zero excuses—not having money, education, or experience doesn't matter. The only thing you need to get started investing is the interest in doing so.”- Brian FeroldiConnect with Brian Feroldi:Website: https://www.brianferoldi.com/ , https://www.longtermmindset.co/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/brianferoldi/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/brianferoldi/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/brianferoldiYT Brian’s Book: https://www.brianferoldi.com/book/ Stock Simplifier: https://www.stocksimplifier.com/ Connect with Leonard Raskin:Website: https://www.raskinglobal.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/leonardraskin/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RaskinGlobal Email: [email protected]  Leonard’s BOOK: FiduciWho?: What a Real Fiduciary Will Tell You about How to Protect, Grow, Enjoy, and Transfer Your WealthShow notes by Podcastologist: Angelo Paul TagamaAudio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. Warren Quinn is the CEO of HUMANS AT WORK and a leading voice in purpose-driven leadership and culture. He believes every organization should operate from a core “Universal Why”—the personal and professional growth of every individual. Warren helps owners and executives become their best selves and cascade that growth through a culture of fulfillment, driving loyalty, productivity, and profitability. He is also the Executive Director of the ASA of Baltimore, a CultureWise™ Licensed Consultant, and a Certified Practitioner of The Leadership Circle 360 Profile™. In exit planning, Warren supports business owners in developing the mindset and skills needed for their next chapter. As a speaker, he champions positive, loving professional relationships as the key to lasting success. In this episode, Leonard and Warren discuss:Emotional intelligence and personal growth drive lasting leadership transformationThe “universal why” links fulfillment to a deeper, purpose-driven cultureTools like The Leadership Circle and CultureWise help leaders build self-aware teamsGreat leaders move beyond outdated, command-and-control leadership modelsSuccession planning is an emotional journey, not just a business decisionKey Takeaways:Leadership isn’t defined by control or authority—it begins with the courage to ask for help. Warren emphasizes that vulnerability, often seen as weakness, is a sign of strength in effective leaders.Culture will always outperform strategy when it’s deliberately built on shared values and clear behaviors. Without intentional effort, even the best strategies will falter.Transformation happens when owners stop tying their worth to a job title. Recognizing that identity extends beyond being “the boss” opens the door to real growth.Planning for an exit isn’t just a financial exercise—it’s deeply emotional and personal. Owners must come to terms with letting go of their role and embracing life beyond the business.Profitability follows when leaders prioritize people and purpose over numbers. A heart-led business inspires loyalty, joy, and sustainable success.“ The people we need in our organizations... are people who want to contribute, they want to achieve, they want to feel loved. Jesse Cramer: Smart Planning Beats Smart Investing

Jesse Cramer is the founder and voice behind The Best Interest Blog and the Personal Finance for Long-Term Investors Podcast, where he educates over 25,000 DIY investors and financial advisors every month. With a background in mechanical and aerospace engineering, Jesse has a gift for making complex financial topics surprisingly simple. Today, he brings that same clarity and precision to his work as a fiduciary, fee-only advisor at a wealth management firm in Rochester, New York.In this episode, Leonard and Jesse discuss:Journey from aerospace engineer to personal finance educatorWhy understanding your real spending habits is critical to retirement planningHow the engineering mindset helps break down complex financial systemsThe most common financial mistakes people make—and how to prevent themHow podcasting and financial education can empower individuals at all life stagesKey Takeaways:Many individuals drastically underestimate their actual monthly spending, leading to flawed financial plans that feel solid—until the numbers don't add up.Financial planning mirrors a spider web: every financial decision pulls on another thread, revealing an intricate system where nothing exists in isolation. While investments often take center stage, the true value lies in holistic planning—blending tax strategies, risk protection, and long-term income coordination.Clarity begins with humility: assuming no prior knowledge, effective educators break down complex topics to their first principles, avoiding industry jargon. When people truly understand both their risk exposure and spending habits, they gain the confidence to make intentional, informed financial choices.“ It's the idea that I don't want to say investing is table stakes in our industry, because it's probably not, but I think investing can be the easier part of our job... Eric Dyson is a U.S. Naval Academy graduate and former nuclear-trained submarine officer with over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. A seasoned ERISA advisor, he has worked as both a 3(21) and 3(38) fiduciary on defined contribution and benefit plans. Eric is the Executive Director of 90 North Consulting, where he specializes in conducting ERISA advisor RFPs, fiduciary training, best practices audits, and serving as an expert witness. His expertise has been trusted by both plaintiffs and defendants, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the CFP Board. In this episode, Leonard and Eric discuss:The four core fiduciary duties under ERISA and why they matterThe risks of overlooking retirement plan fees and transparencyHow can small businesses start retirement plans the right wayWhy more investment options aren't always better for 401(k) participantsReal-world lessons from ERISA class action lawsuitsKey Takeaways:Crafting a strong retirement plan begins not with paperwork, but with intentional goals and a trusted advisor who can align the structure with the business's unique vision.Beneath the surface of fiduciary compliance lies a common oversight—many plan sponsors are unaware that failure to ensure fee transparency and act solely in employees’ best interests may place them on shaky legal ground.Rather than offering a buffet of investment choices, the conversation challenges the “more is better” mindset, advocating instead for simplicity and structure that empower—not overwhelm—plan participants. In a world where assumptions can be costly, the message is clear: fiduciaries must demand precise, itemized cost breakdowns to uphold their duty—vague approximations no longer suffice.Wrapped in a legal framework but rooted in ethics, transparency isn't just a smart move—it’s a non-negotiable pillar of responsible plan management under ERISA."Picture it as the foundation to your house, ladies and gentlemen, we don't need to be talking about what color the sconce is and whether it's silver or brass, or what the color of the throw pillows are on the bed before we have a foundation, and those investments in your ERISA plan should be foundational and nothing more.”- Eric DysonConnect with Eric Dyson:Website: https://90northllc.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/401kguy/ Connect with Leonard Raskin:Website: https://www.raskinglobal.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/leonardraskin/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RaskinGlobal Email: [email protected]  Leonard’s BOOK: FiduciWho?: What a Real Fiduciary Will Tell You about How to Protect, Grow, Enjoy, and Transfer Your WealthShow notes by Podcastologist: Angelo Paul TagamaAudio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. Ranked in the top 0.27% of agents nationwide, Michael is known for his data-driven strategies, ethical advocacy, and deep market expertise. He also leads the "Sell a Home, Save a Child" initiative, donating a portion of commissions to support children in need.In this episode, Leonard and Michael discuss:Effective real estate practices and the importance of single-party seller representationHigh turnover rates among real estate agents within five yearsLimitations of open houses and the value of data-driven strategiesCommon mistakes sellers make, including underpricing and mishandling bidding warsUnique challenges of working with ultra-wealthy clients and the value of referrals over outreachKey Takeaways:Prioritizing single-party seller representation is essential to avoid conflicts of interest and maximize the seller's return through fair competition and strategic pricing.Real estate demands sustained skill development as a staggering number of agents exit the industry within five years, reflecting the challenging nature of successful home sales.Data-driven strategies and accurate pricing prove far more effective than traditional marketing methods like open houses, which often fail to deliver optimal results.Costly mistakes, including underpricing and poor agent selection, can significantly hinder a seller's success, emphasizing the importance of experienced and reliable representation.Cultivating genuine relationships and fostering a referral-driven business model hold more long-term value than impersonal outreach, especially when working with affluent clients who value trust and expertise."Real estate is just a relationship business. Dr. Chasson is the author of Flawed: Why Perfectionism is a Challenge for Management and the Founder and Director of the Balanced Executive Lab.In this episode, Leonard and Greg discuss:The double-edged sword of perfectionism and why it sabotages performanceThe psychological traps high achievers fall into, including burnout and rigidityHow self-oriented vs. other-oriented perfectionism affects leadership and teamsThe power of values-based decision-making in combating process paralysisHow to shift from striving to thriving with practical behavioral strategiesKey Takeaways:A nuanced exploration of perfectionism reveals it’s not the enemy—until it's fueled by rigidity and impossible standards, turning a strength into a self-sabotaging force.Self-oriented perfectionism doesn’t just exhaust the individual; it radiates outward, quietly eroding trust, morale, and team cohesion in leadership environments. The episode challenges rule-based thinking, urging a shift toward values-driven choices as a path to psychological freedom and authentic leadership. Not every task deserves a perfectionist's intensity—learning to prioritize effort is portrayed as a strategic act of personal sustainability.Contrary to popular belief, burnout isn’t cured by stepping away—it’s resolved by stepping inward, confronting misaligned values, and reclaiming a sense of purpose in the work itself."Perfectionism isn’t all bad—but the mistake is thinking you’ll lose your edge if you let it go. Malcolm Peace is making Texas feel smaller through his outstanding work with small to midsize businesses across the state. His company, Tsetserra Growth Partners, partners with well-established businesses whose owners are approaching retirement but want to ensure their companies continue to thrive. Malcolm and his team help rewrite the operating playbook while preserving the owner’s culture and implementing a strong succession plan. With a focus on operational excellence and deep experience, they aim to double the company’s revenue in just two years. The work is intensive, but Malcolm and his team equip each business with the tools needed to give the owner peace of mind that their legacy will continue to grow for years to come.In this episode Leonard and Malcolm discuss:Malcolm’s team guides retiring owners through legacy-focused business transitionsThe “top-down P&L” approach to identifying growth opportunities within a businessWhy operational excellence and team retention are at the heart of Malcolm’s buy-and-grow strategyHow Tsetserra works differently from private equity or ESOPs when acquiring businessesKey lessons Malcolm has learned from stepping in as CEO during acquisitionsKey Takeaways:The idea that successful business transitions are not about starting over, but about honoring and building upon the existing foundation that made the company great.Malcolm reveals that while doubling revenue in two years is a bold target, the true art lies in tailoring strategies to the distinct financial realities of each business.Early and consistent trust-building with employees remains the bedrock of a smooth transition and future company growth. Many business owners delay succession planning too long, missing the opportunity to secure their legacy before options become limited.Rather than focusing solely on the highest offer, Malcolm’s perspective highlights how sellers often prioritize cultural preservation and legacy continuity over pure purchase price during negotiations.“ We want to create a business that has the ability to scale past what it's currently set up to do, and simultaneously, we want you to feel proud when you walk in five years later and see that the bulk, if not all, of the people are still there.” -Malcolm PeaceConnect with Malcolm Peace:Website: https://tsetserra.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/malcolmpeace/ Connect with Leonard Raskin:Website: https://www.raskinglobal.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/leonardraskin/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RaskinGlobal Email: [email protected]  Leonard’s BOOK: FiduciWho?: What a Real Fiduciary Will Tell You about How to Protect, Grow, Enjoy, and Transfer Your WealthShow notes by Podcastologist: Angelo Paul TagamaAudio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. If something happens to you, your family needs to know what to do. We created a 30-minute process called the Executor Summary Report to help you do just that. Once you complete it, you'll quickly spot the gaps you need to fill in and update over time. At Hendricks Farm & Hatchery, Jenny combines her passion for health and sustainability, offering responsibly raised meat and fostering awareness about the impact of food choices on health and the environment. Through her farm, she empowers others to embrace a healthier, more ethical lifestyle. In this episode Leonard and Jenny discuss:Transitioning to sustainable and ethical food production for health benefitsCorporate exploitation through addictive processed foods and health impactJunk food consumption cycle and its link to obesity and chronic illnessesHidden costs of healthy foods and the need for a holistic approach to well-beingIndustrial animal farming practices and the importance of ethical sourcingKey Takeaways:The deliberate engineering of addictive processed foods by corporations highlights a cycle of overconsumption, health issues, and profit-making, both from the cause and treatment of related diseases.Processed foods create cravings and chronic illnesses, trapping consumers in a cycle that fuels corporate profits at the expense of public health. While healthy foods may seem costly, their value lies in offsetting medical expenses and offering peace of mind through clean, chemical-free sourcing.Industrial animal farming's inhumane practices prioritize profits by using antibiotics and hormones, raising concerns about ethics and long-term health impacts.Despite challenges like poverty and ingrained habits, transitioning to healthier, locally-sourced food demonstrates the possibility of breaking unhealthy cycles for lasting well-being.“As a business, I think the hardest part of it is changing people's perception that a chicken is just a chicken. People are so unaware of how their food is raised and what actually goes into it.
