How to Pay Off Debt Without Going Back to Credit Cards | 583
Curious? Take The Free Money Stress Quiz!Ready? Buy Our Simplified Budget System Now!We know paying off debt can feel like the urgent, obvious first step. But in this episode, Shana and Vanessa are flipping that script a little.Because here’s the truth: if we attack debt without savings buckets, spending accounts, and a real plan for upcoming expenses, we’re probably going to end up right back on the credit card. This episode is all about creating the kind of budget system that actually supports real life. We’re talking about spending accounts, savings buckets, debt payoff, single mom budgeting, and why there is no one-size-fits-all plan for your money. Before we get aggressive with debt, we need to make sure our budget is actually working. That means getting everything on paper, separating our spending, and knowing what money is for bills, what money is for everyday spending, and what money needs to be saved for things coming up.Savings buckets are not optional fluff. They are what help us stop relying on credit cards when life happens. Christmas, birthdays, property taxes, vacations, kids’ activities, travel, and repairs are not surprises if we know they’re coming.Debt payoff does not have to be all or nothing. Sometimes we pay extra on debt, sometimes we pause to save for an upcoming expense, and sometimes we do both at the same time. The goal is to stop the cycle for good.A spending account can be simple. For some of us, it might be one account to start. For others, it might be separate accounts for groceries, eating out, personal spending, and kids. The best system is the one we’ll actually use.Financial coaching helps take the guesswork out of all of this. Having someone look at the numbers with us, build the system with us, and help us make the next right decision can bring so much clarity and relief.Let’s Take Our Relationship To The Next Level:1️⃣ Facebook Group ➡︎ budgetbesties.com/facebook2️⃣ Be on the Podcast ➡︎ budgetbesties.com/livecall3️⃣ Private 1-on-1 Coaching. ➡︎ budgetbesties.com/coachingThis podcast is for educational and informational purposes only and is not personal financial, legal, or tax advice. This description may contain affiliate links, meaning we may get a commission at no cost to you if you click & purchase.Click here to view our privacy policy.

The Budget Mistakes That Keep You Living Paycheck to Paycheck | Lessons From The Sessions | 577
Curious? Take The Free Money Stress Quiz!Ready? Buy Our Simplified Budget System Now!Budget besties, this episode is all about what happens when your money life has a lot of moving parts: personal finances, business income, real estate, trusts, debt payments, vehicles, savings goals, and everyday spending all tangled together.Shana and Vanessa walk through a real client example where three separate budgets helped create major clarity. Once everything was on paper, this client and her husband could finally see what was happening, make informed decisions, and start the domino effect by selling a truck they no longer needed. The big takeaway? When money is mixed together, it gets confusing fast. But when we separate it, label it, and set up simple systems, our budget starts working for us automatically. Separate accounts, realistic spending categories, labeled savings, and automatic transfers can help us stop relying on memory, stop overspending “extra” money that isn’t really extra, and start making progress toward the goals we actually care about.Let’s Take Our Relationship To The Next Level:1️⃣ Facebook Group ➡︎ budgetbesties.com/facebook2️⃣ Be on the Podcast ➡︎ budgetbesties.com/livecall3️⃣ Private 1-on-1 Coaching. ➡︎ budgetbesties.com/coachingThis podcast is for educational and informational purposes only and is not personal financial, legal, or tax advice. This description may contain affiliate links, meaning we may get a commission at no cost to you if you click & purchase.Click here to view our privacy policy.

Curious? Take The Free Money Stress Quiz!Ready? How To Build Your Monthly Budget: Plan Your Money Step by Step | 558
Curious? Take The Free Money Stress Quiz!Ready? Buy Our Simplified Budget System Now!We’re talking about the B word — and no, not in a scary way. Here’s the truth:Most of us are running the same “money operating system” we had at 18. Meanwhile… life got more expensive, more complicated, and way busier. So what do we do?We upgrade the system. Not with more tracking. Not with spreadsheets you have to babysit. Not with budgeting apps that turn you into an accountant. We build a system that:✅ Tells your money where to go✅ Puts it there automatically✅ Makes it nearly impossible to “mess up”Because you are too busy living your life to be manually moving money around all month.💡 The 5-Part Budget FrameworkWe’ve simplified everything into five columns. That’s it.Income – Every dollar coming in (yes, even cash + bonuses + tax returns).Debt – Minimum payments only (we’ll attack extra strategically).Bills – Anything with a due date.Spending – The Big Four:Gas & groceriesRestaurants/entertainmentPersonal pocket moneyKidsSavings Buckets – All the “unexpected” expenses that aren’t actually unexpected (Christmas, travel, hair appointments, sports fees, car maintenance, etc.)We separate everything into clear accounts so your bank becomes your personal assistant.Let’s Take Our Relationship To The Next Level:1️⃣ Facebook Group ➡︎ budgetbesties.com/facebook2️⃣ Be on the Podcast ➡︎ budgetbesties.com/livecall3️⃣ Private 1-on-1 Coaching. ➡︎ budgetbesties.com/coachingThis podcast is for educational and informational purposes only and is not personal financial, legal, or tax advice. This description may contain affiliate links, meaning we may get a commission at no cost to you if you click & purchase.Click here to view our privacy policy.

How They Paid Off $30,000 of Debt in 6 Months (Without Being "Gazelle Intense") | 556
Curious? Take The Free Money Stress Quiz!Ready? Buy Our Simplified Budget System Now!We walked through a real-life case study of a totally normal family — married, two kids, busy jobs, travel sports — bringing in $16,000 a month but carrying over $300,000 in debt (not including their mortgage) with $6,300 in minimum payments alone. After a tough season of loss and emotional spending, things spiraled. She had 34 debts and felt suffocated. But in just six months of coaching — without increasing their income — she paid off 11 debts and $30,000 total, reduced minimum payments by nearly $1,000 a month, got a full paycheck ahead, and finally created breathing room in her budget. And no, she didn’t stop living her life to do it.What made the difference? She did the work. She closed credit cards, called lenders to lower payments, refinanced a car, sold things around the house, negotiated bills, separated business and personal finances, and got intentional about side income for a season. She stopped reacting and started planning ahead with savings buckets — even setting up separate accounts for kids’ sports and annual expenses. The biggest shift wasn’t just financial, it was mental clarity. Once the system was built, it ran — and she didn’t have to track every penny anymore. Budget besties, this is what happens when you pair a clear plan with consistent action. It’s not about perfection — it’s about progress, and it’s absolutely possible for you too.Let’s Take Our Relationship To The Next Level:1️⃣ Facebook Group ➡︎ budgetbesties.com/facebook2️⃣ Be on the Podcast ➡︎ budgetbesties.com/livecall3️⃣ Private 1-on-1 Coaching. ➡︎ budgetbesties.com/coachingThis podcast is for educational and informational purposes only and is not personal financial, legal, or tax advice. This description may contain affiliate links, meaning we may get a commission at no cost to you if you click & purchase.Click here to view our privacy policy.

Curious? Watch Our Money Makeover Bootcamp!Ready? To be debt free except for one main car by November 2026.In this episode, we talk through how to balance aggressive debt payoff with realistic savings, how to plan for real life without calling it a “setback,” and why your budget has to support the life you’re living right now, not just the finish line you’re chasing. We also get into the difference between avalanche and snowball debt strategies, why automation is such a game changer, and how Shelby and her husband are staying motivated with Post-it notes all over the house to remind themselves what they’re working toward. This conversation is such a good reminder that paying off debt does not have to mean white-knuckling your way through life.
