Tonight we are going over Chapter 82: Ash and ElmWe are starting to approach the end of the book, and yet it claims to just be getting started. The mixed signals are real. Kvothe continues to name things despite a church falling on his head. I make a theory about falling off buildings being a requirement for naming, and I have more bad things to say about Denna. Tonight we are going over Chapter 80: Touching Iron and Chapter 81: Pride.I wanted to start off by apologizing for uploading late, this past weekend was a whirlwind. These are some great chapters though. If I could choose for any one chapter to get animated it is Touching Iron, for sure. Tonight we are going over Chapter 78: Poison, and Chapter 79: Sweet TalkI am writing this the day before the upload and I honestly don't remember much about this recording. I am sure some stuff happens. Giant high cow lizard and extremely stupid savant of a sympathist, and a girl that has had a little too much maple candy, what could go wrong. Also is this the episode with the terminal velocity of squirrels? Tonight we are going over Chapter 77: Bluffs.This was a shorter chapter, and what I like to call a feel good chapter. Sure things are looking kind of bleak for Kvothe and Lady Denna, but aren't their interactions just great? Plus, her ability to ask the questions Kvothe is too smart to think are always a delight. Tonight we are going over chapter 74: Waystone, 75: Interlude - Obedience, and 76: The Mating Habits of the Common Draccus.I'm not sure this chapter can hold a candle to Loo Pegs Pegs Pegs, but a lot does happen. We get more evidence that the Tinkers in Temerant are omniscient Gods that are to be feared, we get an extremely short chapter that I honestly can't gleam much from, and we get some more information on the giant cow lizard. Tonight we are going over Chapter 73: PegsLoo Pegs Pegs Pegs!The rest of the book is definitely fighting for my favorite chapter. How could I have forgotten about the glory that is the Pegs Chapter. This is definitely a love it or hate it chapter, and I definitely try to do the accent and we play a little bit of the audiobook, so if you want to skip this one, I understand. Tonight we are going over Chapter 72: BorrorillI know I saw last week's was my favorite chapter but now I'm not sure. I think the rest of the book will be fighting for that spot. Kvothe "names" Denna's Patron, and we discuss further about what that could mean. We discuss a bunch of conspiracy theories for the book, and Matt teaches us about cat's propensity for being smacked. Tonight we are going over Chapter 71: Strange Attraction.There's a lot of stuff going on in this chapter, and it might be one of my favorite. Kvothe threatens to eat someone, we get out first real interaction with a tinkerer, Matt can't read without thinking about the Kardashians, and we get a reunion with a difficult person to find. Tonight we are going over Chapter 70: Signs.While going over my notes to write this, I realized this is kind of a sad chapter. Kvothe is the most desperate he might have ever been so far in this chapter. Tonight we are going over Chapter 69: Nice... I mean Wind or Women's Fancy.We get a lovely interaction with Deoch, pining over women and lost loves. Kvothe gets lost chasing the wind, and I have a lot to say about it. We also get a few more fun interactions with Elodin. Oh! and Kovthe nearly gets murdered. Tonight we are going over Chapter 66: Through the FireIn this chapter we are going to see the repercussions of Kvothe's escapades through the "Cascading huge Goddamn fire" and its repercussions. Kvothe gets more time with Fela and Mola, and we get to see the ever lovely Ari again. Honestly any chapter with Ari is a great chapter. Tonight we are going over chapter 66: Volatile and chapter 67: A Matter of Hands.There's a lot to get into with these chapters. We finally get to see the "Cascading huge Goddamn fire." as Manet so eloquently put it. Tonight we are going over Chapter 65: SparkThere's quite a bit of fuel for the fire that only a tin foil hat can truly harness. Strawberry wine is mentioned, Lorren never banning people from the archives is explored albeit briefly, and Kvothe might have won Denna all the way back when he first left for The University. Tonight we are going over Chapter 63: Walking and Talking and Chapter 64: Nine in the Fire.As I was going through my notes I was just reminded of how much I love these slower chapters, where we really get to see everything be calm and enjoyable. Tonight we are going over Chapter 60: Fortune. There was a whole bunch of set up in this chapter. We learn more about how admissions works. Tonight we are going over Chapter 57: Interlude - The Parts that Form Us, Chapter 58: Names for Beginning, and Chapter 59: All This Knowing.We learn about Denna from someone that isn't Kvothe, even if his priorities are completely out of wack. Tonight we are going over Chapter 54: A Place to Burn. Apparently we can keep up singular chapter episodes for a solid 3 episodes. Kvothe finally plays for the Eolian, I know I've been waiting for this chapter for a while. Theres honestly so much good stuff in this one I am not sure what to give a taste of in this description. Tonight we are going over Chapter 53: Slow Circles.Two episodes for singular chapters!? How long can we keep it up? I hope there are some people that appreciate dedicating a whole episode to the introduction of Auri. Get your tinfoil hats ready, because we go over some of the most interesting theories about her. Could she be a princess, or a fey? Is she the one rescued from a sleeping barrow king? Could she be the one who names him Dulator? Tonight we are going over chapter 50: Negotiations and chapter 51: Tar and TinLet the bickering begin. We get the arrival of a Goated character, despite what Matt thinks, and we get a brief explanation of Runes. Entirely convincing me that it is complicated, annoying, and not worth the effort. Tonight we are going to go over chapter 47: Barbs, chapter 48: Interlude - A Silence of a Different Kind, and chapter 49: The Nature of Wild Things.We still do three chapter episodes? I guess it's hard not to when some of these chapters are so short. We see Kvothe enter a business arrangement regarding a mutual hatred between him and his co-owner. Bast admits to becoming far too scared of things since meeting Kvothe, coincidence? And our Hagrid sized interpretation of Kilvin is squashed. Pull up a log around the fire as we break it all down.

Tonight we are going over Chapter 46: The Ever Changing WindA lot happens in this chapter, and it is honestly one of the funniest chapters of any book I have ever read. If you haven't fallen in love with Elodin by the end of this I don't even know what to tell you. Tonight we are going over Chapter 44: The Burning Class and Chapter 45: Interlude-Some Tavern TaleKvothe continues his struggle between picking which Master wants him more, and it seems he might pick the one that wants nothing to do with him. Tonight we are going over chapter 43: The Flickering Way.The highlight and simultaneously the low point of this chapter have to be the insults Kvothe and Ambrose hurl at each other. We finally see the rest of the archives, if only briefly. Tonight we are going over Chapter 41: Friend's Blood, and Chapter 42: BloodlessLots of talk about blood I guess. We are going to get the creation of the first mythological tale of many to involve Kvothe; whether or not he can bleed. We also learn a bit more about Willem, and get two Masters that seem to be fighting for Kvothe's attention. Who will he choose? This week on Fireside Chapters.Also just as an apology to any viewers. We learn about the masters a bit more, including who I think to be an ally and who is an enemy to Kvothe. Lots of further world building in the implications of this situation, and Kvothe twists the whole thing into joining the arcanum. Yay? Tonight we are diving into Chapter 38: Sympathy in the Mains and Chapter 39: Enough Rope.Okay, so a lot happens here. We get a proper introduction to the complete and utter Jack*ss that is Hemme, and his idiotic tendencies towards women. We finally get to see the archives, even if only half of it. There's a stern conversation with Lorren, and something tells me it won't be the last. Lastly we get to see Hemme eat a little humble pie. Tonight we are diving into Chapter 37: Bright Eyes. We get the formation of the Anti Ambrose League, or as others might like to call them, Kvothe's friends. The borderline unhinged Manet.
