In Ephesians 5:16, Paul makes a statement that the “days are evil. The city in which he was writing to (Ephesus) was known for its extravagant, vile nature and here Paul calls for the Christian’s in that city to live a life that blesses God, and that will lead people to Him. Although we are 2000+ years removed from this statement, it still holds true today. The world that we live in is just as sinful and vile as Ephesus was when Paul wrote the letter to the church there. In John 12 we read Jesus talk to a group of people in the city of Jerusalem just days before he will be crucified on the cross. In this discussion Jesus is trying to convey to his followers what he will have to go through in the coming days, but they just do not get it.
