Sit With the Tension (Psalm 32)

Today I dive into Psalm 32 and the story of David repenting of his sin in 2 Samuel. The Psalms are a beautiful body of the highs and lows of the human experience in relation to their Creator- from grief to praise- every emotion is covered. David wrote many of the Psalms we know and love and that Jesus quoted in the New Testament. I wanted to explore and sit with an uncomfortable tension: acknowledging that without one of David's worst and sinful decisions we would not see his expression in other Psalms of the greatness of God's love and depth of His mercy and forgiveness toward those who humble themselves and come repentant before Him. Without the lowest of moments of depravity and grief we would not know the extent of patience, kindness and grace- we would not understand why our praise to God means so much more when we know what He has saved us from when we did not deserve it. Seeing examples like David's, of God restoring, redeeming and taking what was meant for evil and turning it for good, should stir up our hope in and gratitude for Christ even more!SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: Psalm 32Support the showJoin the Patreon!Follow on IG!Subscribe on YouTube!

This week I welcome on my friend Kevin Coyne, a fellow creative and Christian from childhood he brings an insightful perspective and burden to the current state of the westernized church. In Part II, we discuss Sabbath, unmet expectations, discernment and getting our security from God. We also talk about how God leads us in steps and sometimes through just opening doors as well as how our burdens and gifts reflect the areas He has redeemed and given us authority over.BIBLE PROJECT: https://bibleproject.com/TABERNACLE RESOURCES:https://youtu.be/7K8faUuCD2Y?si=gipFc1UWeUnfpXj2https://youtu.be/MMEQ-WlsWsc?si=pCNBDDzItkiwhOAnBOOK RESOURCES:Strong's Concordance by James Strong - https://amzn.to/4tCO34rCrazy Love by Francis Chan - https://amzn.to/4t3nEgjWaking the Dead by John Eldredge - https://amzn.to/4dIDY1oThe Good and Beautiful God by James Bryan Smith - https://amzn.to/3PWIEXFThe Good and Beautiful Life by James Bryan Smith - https://amzn.to/4cpSYinThe Good and Beautiful Community by James Bryan Smith - https://amzn.to/47WwwfmEmotionally Healthy Spirituality by Peter Scazzero - https://amzn.to/4ctuoNIThe Art of Biblical Narrative by Robert Alter - https://amzn.to/41oTdVTThe Unseen Realm by Michael Heiser - https://amzn.to/3OwCNYySupport the showJoin the Patreon!Follow on IG!Subscribe on YouTube!

    The Wonderful Blood

Happy Easter Everyone! This week I dive into the significance of the book of Leviticus and it's symbolic and intentional mirroring to parts of Jesus' crucifixion. As I've been meditating on the Levitical laws of sacrifice, my sin and the true heart behind repentance the Holy Spirit brought about beautiful revelations on why Jesus had to die the way he did, what sin really costs, and how Jesus not only made a way to be in eternal relationship with us- but is THE way!SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: Leviticus 4:4; Hebrews 9:22; Romans 13:10I also got a lot of inspiration from Philip Anthony Mitchell's recent messages linked here as well:https://youtu.be/2Ps_yjPmc-M?si=DXtZZAGwP_44klJ_https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgIcGgCb9moSupport the showJoin the Patreon!Follow on IG!Subscribe on YouTube!

    Casual Christianity

For The One's first live audience podcast! I was invited to Penfield Community Church and joined by Pastor Adam Herald and Worship/Youth Pastor Bob Gardner. We discussed the fear of the Lord and the crucial importance reverent worship plays in order to maintain deep and Biblical intimacy with God. There's many who are Christian adjacent or playing church, but they do not yield or submit to the authority of Jesus. The three of us dive into the intentionality and heart posture needed to run the race well and battle against casual Christianity.Support the showJoin the Patreon!Follow on IG!Subscribe on YouTube!

    Bethel and Bad Shepherds

CONTENT WARNING: This episode contains discussion of sexual abuse and misconduct. These topics may be disturbing or triggering for some listeners. Listener discretion is advised, especially for survivors of abuse. This week I discuss the recent news of abuse of prophetic giftings, clergy SA and neglect on behalf of the leadership of Bethel Church. While this firestorm of stories and allegations is the most recent, it is unfortunately not the exception. A pattern of hands off leadership, complacency and lack of accountability and genuine repentance has spread like yeast among the American Church. In this episode I use both personal experience and scripture to provide context and clarity to the role and attributes of a "good" shepherd as well as address the signs that may be indicators that those in ministry may not be Biblically upholding their grace ministries. This episode is to expose injustices (especially to women), to warn and to provide wisdom for the purposes of protecting and guarding the flock from the wolves that have been allowed to exist in our churches and even our pastoral leadership- those in sheep's clothing.*DISCLAIMER*: The church is and always was Christ's plan A. It is His bride. I LOVE the Church which is why I am so grieved to see cycles and behaviors repeat and continue. This is NOT meant to be an attack on Bethel or any other ministry but an honest conversation of the hurt that has been caused- we can honor and be honest. I believe forgiveness, healing and redemption are available for everyone- THAT IS THE GOSPEL. So, I pray for the perpetrators to experience genuine repentance on this side of heaven. I pray for wisdom and protection over the "good" shepherds and for the comforting and healing spirit of our Lord and Savior to be ever-close and tangible to the survivors of these evil acts.SCRIPTURES: Psalm 23 (Attributes of The Good Shepherd); Ephesians 4:11-13 (Fivefold Ministry); Genesis 9:20-27 (Covering in Honor); Exodus 38:8 (Women in Service to God); John 10:11-16 (Jesus Addresses His Sheep); Ephesians 5:13 (Revelation Light); Ezekiel 34:7-10 and 1 Peter 5:2-3 (Scripture to the Shepherds)"I'd rather have a woman with a tent peg than a man with no spine." -Natalie Thomas Runionhttps://www.instagram.com/raisedtostay/RESOURCE VIDEOS FOR MORE INFORMATION ON UPDATES INVOLVING BETHEL CHURCH:https://youtu.be/4PnaX31DP5s?si=ISmzwV_B4A87jOyChttps://youtu.be/QscGvtqjy14?si=y93IPLiUUm01bAW2https://youtu.be/aZAGchFYFuU?si=GWJsE1xP3kex7yyGhttps://www.youtube.com/@MikeWingerSupport the showJoin the Patreon!Follow on IG!Subscribe on YouTube!

It was such an honor to have Adam Herald with me this week to discuss his first book, "The Knowledge They Don't Want You To Have." We discuss:- How God wants to woo you to Himself and the intentionality of Him doing so in the design of the Garden of Eden. - The fact that the Bible is written as one love letter from God to human beings as He desperately wants to be in relationship with them. - How the Gospel is for men and women and no one is "too far gone" to repent and come to Christ.- How hungry Gen Z is for the truth.- The symbolism in the design of the Tabernacle paralleled to Eden.- How much God will pursue us in His love for us.Find Adam & His Church on Facebook: Pennfield Community Church in Wellington, OHGet "The Knowledge They Don't Want You To Have": https://a.co/d/024kcYvbSupport the showJoin the Patreon!Follow on IG!Subscribe on YouTube!

    The Manifest Presence of God

Class is back in session this week! As an unofficial Part II to last week's episode, this podcast is a follow up to "The Fear of the Lord." I dive into the difference between omnipresence and manifest presence, the definition of theophany (LOL I definitely pronounced it wrong in the video-please give me grace!) and why the Lord may show Himself in these manifest ways. I also give scriptural examples of how each member of the triune God has manifested their presence to humans throughout the Bible and a list of forms God has taken in the Old and New Testament when manifesting His presence. It is always an honor when we can have a personal interaction with our Creator and we should continue to seek to meet Him in such an intimate and intentional form.SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: Zechariah 4:6 "not by might nor by power but by my Spirit says the Lord Almighty"**CORRECTION OF SPIRITUAL GIFTS SCRIPTURE: 1 Corinthians 12:7-11RESOURCES:https://www.gotquestions.org/manifest-presence.html"The Awe of God" Book: https://a.co/d/0hffDVrtThe John Bevere Podcast: https://www.youtube.com/@JohnBevereTVThe Fear of the Lord Worship Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2epZEurwnvY&list=PLQtQ1UDWt6mIksLe4GS81NKRoACHAIyvD&pp=sAgCSupport the showJoin the Patreon!Follow on IG!Subscribe on YouTube!

    The Fear of The Lord

Class is in session this week! I'm talking on one of the most dense, daunting and holy topics- the fear of the Lord. This podcast is by no means all encompassing- there is so much to this discussion and I only scratched the surface. If you'd like to grow deeper in your intimacy and relationship with God, this principle is crucial to spiritual formation and maturation. I talk on what the fear of the Lord is, scriptures that bring about reverential awe and wonder for God as well as the benefits of having holy fear. Utilizing the old and new testament text, TPT, NIV and NKJV translations and John Bevere's book I walk through the importance of the fear of the Lord with Biblical theology, real life examples and personal experiences.Below I have listed resources and songs that in worship have been influential in impacting how I approach God in holy fear:SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: Hebrews 12:28-29; Isaiah 6:1-8; Revelation 4"The Awe of God" Book: https://a.co/d/0hffDVrtThe John Bevere Podcast: https://www.youtube.com/@JohnBevereTVThe Fear of the Lord Worship Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2epZEurwnvY&list=PLQtQ1UDWt6mIksLe4GS81NKRoACHAIyvD&pp=sAgCSupport the showJoin the Patreon!Follow on IG!Subscribe on YouTube!

New Year, Not A New Test

As we enter into another new year, I wanted to talk about how God has used specific words/themes over the last four years to invite me into deeper revelations, conversations and relationship with Him. I initially thought that after failing to "master" any one of these words that come New Years the following year, I wouldn't be given a new one, that I would need to "pass" one to move on to the next. Instead, in His kindness, God has done the exact opposite. He continues to bring me into each new year with a new word- one that is intimate and specific, like only one who formed my heart and knows it could draw up.In partnership with the Holy Spirit, I like to hold a vision night in January, where I partner with the Lord in writing out prayers, personal, audacious and on behalf of others. I walk you through how I organize my category of prayers, my process in dating them and eventually one day moving (at least some) into the "answered prayer" jar. Holding the tension of disappointment in the prayers that were answered with a "no or a not yet," while rejoicing and praising God for His goodness in the ones answered with a "yes," is a practice I have come to admire.Primal Queen25% OFF Primal Queen using the attached linkDisclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. How do you prepare to rest when you are in anguish? How do you rest when your soul is restless? And how do you hope when all hope seems lost? This Christmas episode we go not to Jesus' birth, but to his resurrection to find our response on how we are to prepare to hope. We talk about the significance of preparation, of Sabbath/rest and of obedience. This podcast is an invitation to not only prepare to hope, but to dare to hope. To rest and wait in the discomfort of the in between, in the quiet while maintaining faith that whatever you have hoped for isn't over until God says it is. SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: HEBREWS 11:1 & MARK 16NF SONGS REFERENCED (I WOULD RECOMMEND WATCHING/LISTENING TO IN THIS ORDER):1. The Sustainer of All Things

This is an unofficial "Part 3" of a 3 part conversation based on an encounter I had with the Lord. In a powerful, much needed time of weeping that came from reading the book, "Searching for Sunday," the idea of God keeping us, even when we didn't want to became tangibly real.God being the sustainer of all things He created includes us. He is able to sustain us not only because He made us, but because He has gone before us so He is the only one who actually knows what we will inevitably need. When He asks us and tasks us to carry something heavy- when the privilege starts to feel more like a burden- He doesn't leave us to deal with it on our own. He invites us into a partnership where we can humbly admit we need Him, casting the burden at His feet and in return He will strengthen, keep and uphold us.SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: Romans 11:36 & Psalm 121ADDITONAL SCRIPTURES: Psalm 55:22 ; Hebrews 1:3 ; Psalm 54:4 ; Isaiah 41:10 ; Colossians 1:17BOOK REFERENCED: Rachel Held Evans "Searching for Sunday"Primal Queen25% OFF Primal Queen using the attached linkDisclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. This is an unofficial "Part 2" of a 3 part conversation based on an encounter I had with the Lord. In a powerful, much needed time of weeping that came from reading the book, "Searching for Sunday," the premise of the church as both a body and a bride was illuminated. The metaphor of being pregnant with something, with carrying something, came into view and I immediately thought of the woman who was anointed to carry the most precious thing. We dive into Luke 1 to analyze the differences between Zachariah and Mary. He Understands

This is an unofficial "Part I" of a 3 part conversation based on an encounter I had with the Lord. Jesus commands us to forgive those who hurt us, to release them of their offense. That feels like we're just letting them off the hook though, and with no apology, remorse or repentance from the other party, it can feel impossible to not be angry or bitter. I've been wrestling with resentment and unforgiveness in the year after leaving a church I once called home, in the wake of grievous aftermath of other's painful decisions. In a powerful, much needed time of weeping that came from reading the book, "Searching for Sunday," I was invited by the Spirit to explore how forgiveness is truly and only possible in partnership with our Savior. Our great High Priest is able to understand everything we experience in humanity because He actually lived it. He truly understands, and in light of this revelation- if He forgave those who betrayed, offended and grieved Him, then so can I. Jesus lead by example, not instructing us to do anything He, in His human body didn't model first.SCRIPTURES: Philippians 2:7; Isaiah 53:3 ; Hebrews 4:15CHANDLER MOORE "HE UNDERSTANDS": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ffxways8u8BOOK REFERENCED: Rachel Held Evans "Searching for Sunday"Primal Queen25% OFF Primal Queen using the attached linkDisclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. What Makes Us Right With God

A continuation of "Do I Have The Love I Had At First?"How do we let God's love nourish our hearts? How do we be on the right side of God?I'm looking again at John 15 along with Romans 3, and have found the answers to these questions, as I'm on a journey to be filled with God's love, to love others deeply, and to be on the right side of God. This discussion is a deep dive on the three different types of branches (John 15), Jesus' overflowing gladness whilst being the man of great sorrows (Luke 7) and God's nurturing, tender love for us as beloved children (Psalm 103). When we remember and reflect on how He took our place on the cross and paid a price we could've never paid ourselves, the pits He's pulled us out of and the things of this world He has saved/delivered us from and healed us of- it stirs the love in our hearts we had at first. It nourishes us continually and keeps our faith fixed on His finished work.SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: John 15:1-21 & Romans 2:1-8 & Romans 3:26-28 TPTTIM ROSS SHORT: https://youtube.com/shorts/2dL81aL12qQ?si=vgbG3-pral1gXxIkPrimal Queen25% OFF Primal Queen using the attached linkDisclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. Do I Have the Love I Had At First?

The Spirit revealed to me through a friend in a word of knowledge, that I had an unknown idol of "wanting to be on the right side of God." A request that's been heavy on my mind and heart, a request that is not in and of itself a wrong desire, but I had been placing that over and as more important than being in God's presence. "You must continually let my love nourish your hearts," these are Jesus' words in John 15:9. If that ceases, it is really easy to not love your neighbors or pray for your enemies. So, that scripture points to the fact that if I am waning in experiencing and receiving God's love for me, it will be increasingly difficult to extend love to others and continue to bear good fruit. If I lose the love and affection I had for Him at first, the pruning will exhaust me to a point of wanting to give up. In order for me to let love be the beautiful prize for which I run, I have to seek and receive the nourishment of God's love in my heart, continually. SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: Revelation 2:4 & John 15:1-17Auri NutritionFor 10% off your first subscription or one-time order at Auri Nutrition use code "NICOLEMMERLINO"Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. The trial of discerning what is opinion versus what is false teaching. The lesson of what needs addressed and what doesn't. The body has many parts, all are necessary and none are more or less important than the others. Paul tells us that if we have all the gifts of the spirit but not love then it is meaningless. If our call is to make disciples, then the primary cause in our conversations should center around love of the Gospel and love for those we're sharing the good news with.SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: 1 Corinthians 12 & 13 Primal Queen25% OFF Primal Queen using the attached linkDisclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. Fear is a natural human emotion and response that God knew we would experience from Old Testament to New. Fear is not a sin, it's a signal. So, it's important how we choose to respond- we have a choice to make of who and what we put our confidence in and therefore, where we get our courage from. I believe faith and fear can coexist in the same moment, but one is always higher than the other- the question is which one are you letting have the most power and control?SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: Mark 6:30-52 TPT & Psalm 91 TPT25% OFF Primal Queen using code: https://www.primalqueen.com/NICOLE00011Primal Queen25% OFF Primal Queen using the attached linkDisclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. The Jezebel Spirit

Erika Kirk gave a beautiful message of forgiveness at Charlie's memorial last week- an incredible gesture of grace that only could have come through the Holy Spirit. The feminists have come after her for being an accomplished woman who is a wife and mother. The Jezebel spirit that I have been hearing about for years has only been proven as MORE real leading up to Charlie Kirk's assassination. Christians must test all things in the light of scripture and we must be discerning of prophecies and spirits. In the midst of all these things all I sense is that The Father's heart is grieved and He wants his sons and his daughters home. We are called to partner with God, having a John the Baptist spirit, preparing the way for Jesus to return and take many with Him into His eternal presence once He does.Megyn Kelly Link: https://youtu.be/sK0_kJrHi88?si=3gAxTIqHg4Yz1U94SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: Isaiah 40:1-5SCRIPTURES ABOUT JEZEBEL: 1 Kings 16-21; 2 Kings 9; Revelation 2:20ADDITIONAL SCRIPTURE (John the Baptist): Mark 6:17-29For 10% off your first subscription or one-time order at Auri Nutrition use code "NICOLEMMERLINO" www.tryauri.com/NICOLEMMERLINOSupport the showJoin the Patreon!Follow on IG!Subscribe on YouTube!

    Whatever is Truth

A warning against the idolization of Charlie Kirk; a look into the natural disasters that took place following his death in Utah and an unfiltered questioning of Christian's blind allegiance to the current country of Israel.I believe what so many are craving is truth. We yearn for honesty, for vulnerability, for authenticity. And yet, we live in a world that hates Truth, that hates questions that push back against the "norm." I just want the truth- scripturally, theologically, politically and as it pertains to the events and peoples surrounding Charlie's death. At the end of the day, God is a God of love, but also a God of justice, of wrath, not one of convenience and comfortability. Truth in love (Ephesians 4:15) is how we are to approach all people as they are made in the image of God.Support the showJoin the Patreon!Follow on IG!Subscribe on YouTube!

    Where Else Would I Go?

This podcast episode was pre-recorded two weeks ago, and it's as prevalent today as it was then. Christ called us to spread truth in love, no matter how uncomfortable. And as Christians, we need to get comfortable with being uncomfortable, with not having all the answers. We grieve, we wrestle, we question but at the end of it all we have to come back to the Lord- come back into His presence, submit to His ultimate control and say "Where Else Would I Go, Lord? As For Me It Is Good To Be Near God." SCRIPTURES: Psalm 73; Isaiah 30&31; Job 38-42Support the showJoin the Patreon!Follow on IG!Subscribe on YouTube!

    On Fire But Not Consumed

It's been a heavy week/weeks for our country. This episode is to honor those who lost their lives, unjustly. This is spiritual, not political. This is hope rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ amidst grief, confusion and anger. There's so much I could have said, but I believe this is what was needed to be said in partnership with the Lord.I'm praying for my brothers and sisters in Christ, for our nation, for the families impacted by these tragedies and for the Holy Spirit to come, to fall, to empower and embolden his sons and daughters in these last days.SCRIPTURE: Lamentations 3:22; Proverbs 18; Jeremiah 28Support the showJoin the Patreon!Follow on IG!Subscribe on YouTube!

    Deliberately Dehydrated Part II

I couldn't leave our conversation on the ever-flowing gift of living water offered by Jesus just in Part I. I give some answers as to why we may (and I specifically) deliberately dehydrate myself and pull insight from scripture that may help shift your perspective next time you're tempted to work to obtain water that will leave you thirsty again. Revisiting John 4 and the story of the woman at the well, we dive deeper into the significance of Jesus' intentionality of meeting this woman in the afternoon, her leaving her jar behind and Jesus eating of a food his disciples new nothing about. SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: John 4:27-3425% OFF Primal Queen using code: https://www.primalqueen.com/NICOLE00011Support the showJoin the Patreon!Follow on IG!Subscribe on YouTube!

    Deliberately Dehydrated Part I

"Deliberately Dehydrated" is a term I coined for what I do to myself spiritually. It is easier to turn my brain off and distract myself from what's in front of me than take it to God and get my satisfaction in Him. We as humans in our physical bodies as well as our spirits are hungry and thirsty constantly and the lie is thinking we're only hungry or thirsty once. I start to try to satisfy my hunger and thirst elsewhere and I know that if I would just take what I'm avoiding/procrastinating to God I would feel so much better, but it is a battle I've been losing lately. So I come out of my brain numbing scroll sessions with guilt and shame pilled on top of still feeling unclear/anxious/etc. about what I was avoiding in the first place. All while knowing full well if I had just gone to God in the first place and drank from the living water I would have already felt so much more refreshed and rehydrated about my situation.SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: JOHN 4:1-26 ADDITIONAL SCRIPTURE: Revelation 21:6; 22:1; 22:17For 10% off your first subscription or one-time order at Auri Nutrition use code "NICOLEMMERLINO" www.tryauri.com/NICOLEMMERLINOSupport the showJoin the Patreon!Follow on IG!Subscribe on YouTube!

Hide His Word In Your Heart

My love of the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings-and honestly all things Middle Earth-runs deep. Every time I watch the movies, just like every time I read scripture something new is revealed to me. Everything God has put in scripture is intentional. I felt convicted this week on how grateful we should be that our Bibles and church gatherings are legal and freely open for us Christians in America. There are many believers throughout the world that are not afforded such luxuries. I believe the importance of knowing scripture, writing it on our hearts, as the Psalmist says, is becoming ever important as the day of our Savior's return continues to draw near. Scripture of the Week: Psalm 119:9-16With the Perry's Podcast: https://youtu.be/2KrVsjvc_Oo?si=V801fuOzUWzJva7rFor 10% off your first subscription or one-time order at Auri Nutrition use code "NICOLEMMERLINO" www.tryauri.com/NICOLEMMERLINOSupport the showJoin the Patreon!Follow on IG!Subscribe on YouTube!

    That's Wild To Me

I did a 3 day fast, recording this episode in the midst of it, and touch upon the importance of fasting and sabbath as spiritual disciplines. I have to be honest that they are newer to me and still feel uncomfortable. I felt like the Holy Spirit brought me to Hebrews 12 and Philippians 2, where Jesus is described as not seizing equality with God, but emptying himself of his deity and becoming human. Talk about leaving comfort, He left Heaven! This lowering of himself to the point of a servant, to the point of death was the ultimate act of humility. And Hebrews 12:2 tells us that Jesus did this with the joy of knowing you would be His. THAT is wild to me! That the Creator of the universe would endure the agony and humiliation of the cross so that I, so that you, could be HIS! I'm meditating on that this week and I encourage you to as well!SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: Hebrews 12:1-3 TPT & Philippians 2:5-11 & 4:8 TPTFor 10% off your first subscription or one-time order at Auri Nutrition use code "NICOLEMMERLINO" www.tryauri.com/NICOLEMMERLINOSupport the showJoin the Patreon!Follow on IG!Subscribe on YouTube!

    Worship in the White House

I'm addressing a viral clip of worship happening in the White House back in April of this year, that seemed to have been widely misunderstood. This isn't just about politics and presidents, this is about the covering, face and favor of the Lord being over America. It can be extremely difficult to not only fight being offended by those who don't like/don't agree with your views and faith, but the call to any of us who follow Christ is to love our enemy and to pray for them. It's not always easy navigating faith and politics, and I think the best we can do is approach every situation with facts, humility, empathy and truth in love. I pray that this nation would continue to seek Christ (from the White House to our homes) and acknowledge Him in all our ways.Scripture of the Week: Isaiah 9:6 & 1 Timothy 2:1-225% OFF Primal Queen using code: https://www.primalqueen.com/NICOLE00011Support the showJoin the Patreon!Follow on IG!Subscribe on YouTube!

Be Like Mary Then Like Martha

I've learned in my season of hosting a Bible Study at my apartment that I lean more like being Martha than Mary as Jesus visits their home. Hosting and having a home full of people makes my heart overjoyed, but getting prepared each week takes time physically and spiritually. I feel as though I have been put in a position to help fill the gap of much needed community and discipleship, especially for women. It's an honor to lead, to listen and to serve those closest to me and to do my best in bringing them closer to Jesus. In becoming more like Christ, we can't ignore (shown to us in the Gospel accounts) how interruptible of a spirit He had, having compassion on those around Him even when He was tired.SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: Luke 10:38-42 NIVFor 10% off your first subscription or one-time order at Auri Nutrition use code "NICOLEMMERLINO" www.tryauri.com/NICOLEMMERLINOSupport the showJoin the Patreon!Follow on IG!Subscribe on YouTube!

    Seeking My Abba

I'm discovering that if we're open to God's hand we will experience constant pruning, this is the Gardener sanctifying us and cutting out every thing not producing good fruit. He is Lord, but He is also Abba (Father) and a good one at that. We have to surrender self-reliance and control just as constantly because "I" doing anything in my own strength will be unsustainable and burdensome. God is asking not that we burn myself out in preparation, but that we would rest in Him as He gives us everything we need to do what He's asked of us. He is in fact Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides. Christ wants a deep, personal and intimate relationship with us, not just for us to use the gifts He's blessed us with in our own will and strength- He desires partnership. Scripture of the Week: Matthew 7:11 & Matthew 11:28-30With the Perry's Podcast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHJi6KgEzuY25% OFF Primal Queen using code: https://www.primalqueen.com/NICOLE00011Support the showJoin the Patreon!Follow on IG!Subscribe on YouTube!

    In A Wilderness Once Again

As uncomfortable and difficult as we usually find it, the wilderness is necessary and serves as a place where dependence on God is birthed. Just because you've been through a wilderness season once does not innately mean you won't be through one again. It causes you to be in complete reliance on God because you have nothing else. What do you actually need to be fulfilled and satisfied? The presence of God. Wherever the presence of God resides is made Holy. It's in finding God in the middle of all things that we find contentment, it's in the middle of a wilderness that you will feast on the joy of the Lord.SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: Psalm 63:1-5 NIV/TPT; Isaiah 55:2 NIV; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV/TPTFor 10% off your first subscription or one-time order at Auri Nutrition use code "NICOLEMMERLINO" www.tryauri.com/NICOLEMMERLINOSupport the showJoin the Patreon!Follow on IG!Subscribe on YouTube!

I talk about struggling to be on time, my on going battle to focus my mind when I pray, how I worship with movement and how shame has tried to tell me that something is wrong with me. Get Off the Baby Food

As a Christian, sanctification is a life-long process. Hebrews 5 talks about the importance of maturing as a believer, weening off milk or infant food and starting to eat solid foods. This process can feel not only intimidating at times, but also like a wrestling between your spiritual self and your fleshly/worldly self. Jesus shows us how this battle can be won and we can be victorious in our sanctification through prayer, spending time seeking and existing in His presence. AND we have a great high priest that prays on our behalf for the strengthening and fortification of our faith and we are to do the same for other believers as well. SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: Ephesians 6:18 CSBFor 10% off your first subscription or one-time order at Auri Nutrition use code "NICOLEMMERLINO" www.tryauri.com/NICOLEMMERLINOSupport the showJoin the Patreon!Follow on IG!Subscribe on YouTube!
