TOOTH GORE, Bank Holiday and SKORTS... New music ahoy!
Wow, there are a lot of capital letters going on in today's episode title, but thats cool, because the acts on this weeks show are 100% worth shouting about. As always, Jim Salveson sits down with a trio of brilliant emerging artists to find out a little about their story, their inspiration and (of course) their latest tunes. This week;SKORTS: Super cool band ripped from the New York underground rock scene. Florence and the Machine meets Queens of the Stone Age, meets Jefferson Airplane all knitted together with a undeniably funky bass line. Ace.Details of the bands upcoming European tour here.Bank Holiday: Fun indie pop that rages against the too-cool-for-school swagger of the Manchester music scene. Bank Holiday are a band who are clearly making the music they love and thats a great reason for you to love it too.TOOTH GORE: The chilled surf vibe of Newquay mixed with the inner city punk of Mile End. Tooth Gore (aka Kobi Joe) melds together both styles and places to create a sound that is uniquely his.Other useful links...Find and follow Freshly Squeezed on X, Instagram and Tik Tok.Weekly new music Spotify playlist here.'Freshly Squeezed: A New Music Podcast' is written, researched, and hosted by Jim Salveson. Are you ready kids? Heeeeee.... has a load of top new tunes ready to go... FRESH! LEE! SQUEEZED! POD!Jim's at it again, three awesome acts lined up and waiting to be discovered on the podcast ALL with top (and very fresh) new tunes for you to check out.Barbara: Pure pop that pulls no punches. A bit of Bowie, a bit of Beach Boys and a whole lot of fun. Barbara are a band that aren't trying to be cool, they're making the music that they love and they want you to love it to... and to have a good time whilst you're at it.Fragile Animals: Australia isn't known for its shoe-gaze... but maybe Fragile Animals will start a movement! Dreamy, hazy guitars layer with enchanting vocals and (occasionally) gloomy lyrical adventures to create something rich and emotive. The Radio Addicts: Riotous punk-pop from a band with the energy and optimism that only comes from youth! The Radio Addicts are band band who's writing and musicianship defies their age... big spiky guitars and sing-a-long chorus' reminiscent of Buzzcocks combination of raw pink energy and sharp pop sensibilities.Other useful links...Get more new music goodness on the Freshly Squeezed socials via X, Instagram or Tik Tok.Ten new music tunes every week to be found on our Spotify playlist here.'Freshly Squeezed: A New Music Podcast' is written, researched, and hosted by Jim Salveson. Martial Arts, Poesie and Isaac Neilson with an UNBELIEVEABLE musical challenge.
Lock in, volume up, let's get lost in a world of new music with another three brilliant acts on this latest episode of Freshly Squeezed: A New Music Podcast.Jim Salveson is behind the mic as he catches up with this weeks artists...Martial Arts: Hot new Manchester band... that we're formed on a bus but are now one of the most promising acts in the North West. Music with a punk attitude but a indie pop heart where rage is wrapped up in catchy melodies and crunchy guitar hooks - one for fans of The Cribs!Poesie: For fans of Madonna, Florence and The Machine and Kate Bush, Poesie has an ear as much for the theatric as she does for a catchy hook. The latest EP is a more confident and self assured version of what has come before.Isaac Neilson: A singer/songwriter making headlines for his attempt to play a gig everyday in 2026... but one who's music should not be ignored. Creative storytelling with clever musical flourishes are central to Isaac's sound that translates brilliantly from studio recording to open mic!Other useful links...Find and follow Freshly Squeezed on X, Instagram and Tik Tok.Weekly new music Spotify playlist here.'Freshly Squeezed: A New Music Podcast' is written, researched, and hosted by Jim Salveson. Embrace, McGrath and Pihka Is My Name x IanGX all with new music!
Ready for a musical journey! All three of this weeks featured acts have very different musical styles but all have one thing in common, they're bloody awesome.Switch on, lock in, this is some of the good stuff...Embrace: 30 years making music has not dulled the flame for Embrace. ‘Avalanche’ is an album brimming with a confidence that only 3 decades of mastery can bring. It somehow manages to push the bands sound to a fresh new place whilst being quintessentially “Embrace” at the same time.McGrath: Stunning songwriting with a traditional Irish heart its almost impossible to think that 'Rotha', given how accomplished it is, is the debut song from this young talent. It's got us suitably excited about what is to come.Pihka Is My Name x IanGX: Pinka's scandi disco pop layers brilliantly with the rock-inspired vocals of IanGX (Katalina Kicks / Amongst Liars) to create something somewhere between Talking Heads, Marilyn Manson and 30 Seconds To Mars. Ridiculously infectious and a tune to whet the appetite for further collaborations!Other useful links...Find and follow Freshly Squeezed on X, Instagram and Tik Tok.Weekly new music Spotify playlist here.'Freshly Squeezed: A New Music Podcast' is written, researched, and hosted by Jim Salveson. The Gulps, Untold River and Reverend and the Makers
One podcast, three bands... we go again! Jim Salveson is back to introduce you to some awesome new music. This week it includes a band backed by a A&R legend, a great act trying something new stateside and ACTUAL INDIE ROCK ROYALTY. Here's what's on the pod...Rev and Makers: The latest offering from Jon McClure is a record that sounds both confident in its songwriting ability and comfortable in its own skin. The Rev is turning up the Northern Soul inspiration for new album ‘Is This How Happiness Feels’ and the result is a stand out LP from the bands 20 years making music. The Gulps: European punk rock with a very UK sound. It’s easy to see why Mr Oasis, Alan McGee has chosen to back The Gulps and signed them to his Label, It’s Creation Baby. Mixing spikey punk vibes with strong melody in a way that is reminiscent of The Buzzcocks, ‘Got Ya’ is a tune you’ll struggle to sit still to!Untold River: Combining the heart of England’s North West with the sounds of the US, Untold River pays tribute to his old and new homes with “Tragedy on Market Street” revealing some clever songwriting and brilliant musicianship.Other useful links...Find and follow Freshly Squeezed on X, Instagram and Tik Tok.Weekly new music Spotify playlist here.'Freshly Squeezed: A New Music Podcast' is written, researched, and hosted by Jim Salveson. MOSAICS, Asgard Raven and James Holt bring the new tunes!
James Holt: The best songwriter you've (probably) never heard of! James is swapping Beatles-esq harmonies for a heavier, Doors-esq, almost psychedelic sound for his new project and 'Sanguine On The Rocks' proves he's equally accomplished in either form.MOSAICS: Leaning into a classic late 00s indie vibe, MOSAICS layer big vocals, bright guitars along with a juxtaposed lyrical dread. "Heaven Knows" is taken from a triumphant debutEP from the London 4 piece.Asgard Raven: Developing his Brit-pop inspired sound into something more complex, mature and maybe even psychedelic, Asgard Raven is back after a brief musical hiatus and music is a better place for it.More of the good stuff...Freshly Squeezed on X, Instagram and Tik Tok - find us and follow us.Get involved in the weekly new music Spotify playlist here to get 10 new tracks straight into your app every Friday PM.'Freshly Squeezed: A New Music Podcast' is written, researched, and hosted by Jim Salveson.
