Fuelling Around - Stars Talking Cars!

It's the final episode in the current series, and Vicki and Dave's guest is YouTuber Mike Fernie! Best known for his work on Drivetribe, Mike has now set up on his own, and considering the channel is only just over 6 months old, it's so far going very well indeed!

Olympian Iwan Thomas is the latest guest on award-winning podcast Fuelling Around. Thomas is best known for winning a silver medal at the 1996 Olympic Games in 4x400m relay event. He’s also a former World, European and Commonwealth Games 4x400m relay champion.The 52-year-old, who now co-hosts the motorcycle-themed podcast Full Chat, joined Vicki Butler-Henderson and Dave Vitty to discuss his love of cars. 

Television presenter and motoring journalist Rory Reid is the latest guest on award-winning podcast Fuelling Around. Motoring journalist Reid, who is best known for his time as a presenter on Top Gear and Fifth Gear, is currently the YouTube director for Autotrader. He joined our co-hosts Vicki Butler-Henderson and Dave Vitty to discuss his love of cars and why he wanted to present Fifth Gear. 

YouTube star Jack Pegoraro is the latest guest on award-winning podcast Fuelling Around. The online personality is best known for his YouTube channel Number 27, which is dedicated to telling the story of classic cars, and has amassed over 85 million views and nearly 250,000 subscribers. He joined our co-hosts Vicki Butler-Henderson and Dave Vitty to discuss his love of older vehicles and why he dislikes modern cars. 

Best known for his time on BBC's Dragon's Den, the hugely successful entrepreneur Theo Paphitis is Vicki and Dave's guest this week on Fuelling Around. Theo's success in the retail world affords him the finer things in life, and as a self-confessed petrolhead, that means cars, cars and more cars! From rare vintage Jags to his wife's John Cooper Works Mini, Theo has an eclectic collection of vehicles in his garage, which he's happy to talk about at length in this brilliantly entertaining episode!

Formula 1 presenter Steve Jones is the latest guest on a brand new series of the award-winning podcast Fuelling Around. The 49-year-old is best known for being the main presenter of Channel 4’s coverage of Formula 1 and previously hosted shows such T4 and X factor USA.Steve joined Vicki and Dave to explain how he likes everything to be just right about his cars, and how he's managed to write 3 books while on the road with the F1 circus!

Autoalex is the second guest on a brand new series of the award-winning podcast Fuelling Around!He joined Dave Vitty and new co-host Vicki Butler-Henderson to discuss his eclectic collection of cars and why he finds it so hard to part with any of them!Alex has over 750,000 subscribers on YouTube and more than 100 million views on his channel, making him one of the biggest automotive YouTubers on the planet!

Television presenter Tim Lovejoy is the first guest on a brand new series of the award-winning podcast Fuelling Around. Lovejoy, who is best known for presenting weekend TV shows such as Sunday Brunch, Soccer AM and Something For The Weekend joined Dave Vitty and new co-host Vicki Butler-Henderson to discuss his love of cars. The 58-year-old also revealed all about life behind-the-scenes from some of TV’s most popular shows.

In the final episode of this series of Fuelling Around, Jason and Dave are joined by actor Simon Gregson who's played Steve McDonald in Coronation Street for the last 35 years! When he's not been out on the cobbles or propping up the bar in the Rovers Return, Simon has clearly been busy buying and selling cars, as he's certainly had plenty of stock over the last 3 decades! From a Renault 5 Turbo to a Ferrari 328, Simon's had them all and his car collection shows no sign of slowing down, as is apparent, as he walks the lads through his varied and eclectic garage!

He's the ultimate rock 'n' roll frontman, but Justin Hawkins from The Darkness also possesses a penchant for performance cars, and like his catsuits, he likes them to be exotic and flamboyant! This is a brilliant episode as Jason and Dave take a walk down Justin's memory lane of motors, and talk about his future days on track, now that he's passed his ARDS racing licence!

He's without doubt one of the biggest stars of YouTube, and has built a following of galactic proportions! Colin Furze is an engineer, an adventurer and a real life inspector gadget! He's built a secret bunker in his garden and an underground tunnel that links said bunker to his house, plus there's also a subterranean garage that will house his prized Delorean! Oh and he's a bit of a petrolhead as well, although Colin's approach to cars is like his approach to most things in life, ever so slightly unconventional! This is a brilliant episode and one to certainly watch, like and share, while not worrying too much about the lack of a traditional risk assessment!

He was brought up in his father's prestigious luxury car garage, but Tom Hartley Jnr had plans to create the ultimate car dealership trading the world's most exquisite classic and performance cars, and that's exactly what he's done from his base in the midlands! When you've sold individual rarities for more than £60m each and have your eyes set on several trillion pounds worth of future business deals, then this is clearly no ordinary garage, as Tom explains to Jason and Dave in this jaw dropping episode!

This week Jason introduces Dave to his old mate Dario Franchitti. Jason and Dario raced together when they were much younger, before Dario moved to the states to become a big name in Indy Car. He won the championship four times and the infamous Indy 500 three times, and despite some terrifying crashes, is still around to tell the tales. These days his life is a much more sedate one, and his success has afforded him a fantasy garage of automotive exotica, which he's happy to give the lads a tour of, 'provided it doesn't make me sound like a dick' he says, which of course it most certainly doesn't!

This week, Jason and Dave meet one of the brightest young stars in motorsports broadcasting, Sky and BBC Radio 5 Live commentator Harry Benjamin! Harry's been obsessed with F1 since he was a young boy, and to now be a significant part of the travelling world wide team, rubbing shoulders with the biggest names in the game is quite simply a dream come true, as he explains in this brilliantly entertaining chat!

On this week's episode, we meet YouTube and Instagram star Michal Fidowicz, whose online channel 'Candy Showroom' is gaining him a lot of attention. With a sense of style and a taste in clothes and cars that pre-dates his late 20s age bracket, Michal is making his own car content to a very high level. A sucker for old BMWs, Michal has already owned many motors and photographed significantly more, and his dream now is to ditch the day job and do this full time, as he explains to Jason and Dave.

Abbie Eaton is without doubt one of the most talented young racing drivers this country has ever produced, and her glittering collection of silverware is testament to her talents. In addition to the trophy cabinet, Abbie was selected to be the test driver on 'The Grand Tour' so has lived the dream of every car fan, and has the stories from those infamous trips to prove it! Ably assisted by her cat Elvis, this is a brilliant chat about a racing career that goes from strength to strength, even though Abbie has certainly had her fair share of hurdles to overcome along the way!

'Fuelling Around' is back for a tenth series, with Jason and Dave welcoming along another all star line up of notable petrolheads! First up, it's the smoothest of the smooth, DJ Trevor Nelson, who as well as knowing a thing or two about music as the host of Radio 2's prestigious afternoon show, is also a bit of a secret car nut! His early days of motoring were reassuringly humble like the rest of us, but these days, he has something a little bit special on his drive at home, and he's delighted to have the opportunity to talk about it properly! 

The final episode of the series sees Jason and Dave sit down with a man who rarely sits down, comedian Russell Kane! Russell is currently half way through an epic UK tour that has already seen him play about 60 dates this year, with the same scheduled for next year, and that doesn't take into account the podcasts, the interviews and the corporate gigs that he has to try and juggle as well! Away from that though and when he does have some time to himself, cars are a passion, and in particular 1980's modern classics! He loves old Fords and the motors of his Essex upbringing that rolled off the line at Dagenham, just down the road from his mum and dad's house, but has treated himself to a 1986 vintage BMW 5 series which is his pride and joy, and something he's only too happy to talk about!

Ben Edwards has enjoyed a highly acclaimed career as a motorsports commentator, presenter and journalist, but it was behind the wheel and on track where it all started for him, and he still manages to get out in his track car when he can. With the F1 season concluding in Abu Dhabi last weekend and the Formula E season kicking off in São Paulo at the same time, it seemed the perfect opportunity to get Ben on the podcast fresh from his travels, to give Jason and Dave his expert analysis on all of the week's goings on, plus the customary walk down memory lane in terms of his own motoring life story!

On this week's episode, Jason and Dave meet BBC Sports presenter Mike Bushell, who did Strictly Come Dancing 5 years ago and now does commentary at Carfest when he's not getting up at the crack of dawn every day to take his place on the breakfast show sofa! Away from the day job, Mike loves nothing better than getting behind the wheel of something tasty on track, as he explains to the boys.

At the age of just 45 and suffering from flu at the time, Jennie Gow had a stroke that was to change her life beyond all recognition, in an instance. An incredibly scary situation for Jennie, her husband and her young daughter, it was unlikely she'd ever return to broadcasting again, but with an unwavering sense of fight and determination, coupled with the support of some incredible medical staff and therapists, Jennie's back on the BBC and doing what she does best, getting the biggest stories first, from the greatest stars in Formula One! The support she received from the world of motor racing and its fans has been a huge part of Jennie's recovery over the past two years, as she describes honestly and openly to Jason and Dave.

On this week's edition of Fuelling Around, Jason and Dave welcome along a gentleman who used to be McLaren's chief engineer under Ron Dennis between the years of 1999 and 2009, seeing him work with the latest technology of the time, to enable the likes of David Coulthard, Kimi Raikkonen and Lewis Hamilton drive to the absolute limit. These days Marc Priestley aka F1 Elvis is a key note speaker and accomplished commentator and TV presenter, covering F1 for the BBC and also working alongside Mike Brewer on Wheeler Dealers! As well as delivering stories a plenty, Marc gives the lads his expert opinion on how the remainder of this F1 season is likely to pan out, while predicting that 2025 is already set up to be a season like no other!

Darren Gough is one of this country's greatest ever cricketers, having represented England and his beloved Yorkshire for decades. He won Strictly Come Dancing (twice if you believe him!) in the noughties, but these days golf is his greatest passion, along with cars of course. When it comes to motors, with Darren it's normally the bigger the better! Range Rovers, Land Rovers and even the behemoth that is the Cadillac Escalade is on his hitlist, but there have been smaller toys along the way in his more formative years. These days though, as a respectable man in his mid fifties, Darren can see himself looking quietly understated and naturally sophisticated in an Aston Martin, provided he doesn't have to pay for it. So, true to form and upholding almost every Yorkshire stereotype there is, Goughie wants to blag one, as he may have mentioned 3 or 5 times to Jason and Dave!

He may not look like your average YouTuber, but car content creator / full time farmer Harry Metcalfe is nothing short of being an online sensation! His 'Harry's Garage' videos get millions of views worldwide, and within those fabled four walls is a car collection to die for! When your podcast guest has a Lamborghini Countach as just one of the many toys ready to be played with at the weekend, then you know it's going to be a great episode!

Fuelling Around is back for its ninth series, and the boys are launching with one of their favourite people on the planet! Kevin McCloud has hosted Grand Designs on Channel 4 for the past 25 years and shows no signs of stopping, but when he's not marvelling at ingenious architectural design, Kevin likes to indulge his other great love of cars! He's got all sorts of oddities, most of which are in bits, but there's no mistaking his credentials as diehard fan of all things automotive! So, buckle up as Jason, Dave and Kevin have a virtual root around in that fantasy garage, and contemplate a dream drive to beat them all!

It's the final episode in the current series, and the boys have pulled a belter of a guest out of the bag! Pink Floyd's legendary drummer Nick Mason is widely regarded as one of the most notable celebrity petrolheads of all them all, and has a car collection to drool over! Pick of the bunch is a Ferrari 250 GTO worth an estimated £40m, amongst a glittering array of automotive exotica! With the 2024 Formula One season about to launch, Jason and Dave welcome the legend that is David Coulthard into their pod paddock for a full preview of the upcoming 24 races, as DC prepares to pack his overnight bag and head to Bahrain!

On the show this week, the boys welcome into the studio one of Jason's oldest friends from the world of motorsport, the legend that is Tiff Needell! Tales a plenty of Jason's antics as a young and mischievous apprentice, and some expert analysis from Tiff of the greatest drivers of all time. This is a brilliant episode!

The boys are back with a brand new series of Fuelling Around, and what a way to kick off the run! Jason and Dave are in safe hands this week, as they're joined by an Arsenal and England legend between the sticks. It is of course the one and only Mr David Seaman!

For the final episode in the series, Jason and Dave are joined by a legend of British motor racing, in the form of Johnny Herbert. Johnny and Jason knew each other well in their younger days of karting as kids, and both then went on to enjoy highly successful careers in their respective racing fields. They even spent a season together in the BTCC, but more about that in the episode! It's a lovely way to wrap the series, as Johnny reminisces about the feeling of winning the British GP at Silverstone, as we all look back on a glorious day in British motorsport history!

This week, Jason and Dave enjoy the company of a legend in the world of motoring journalism. Quentin Willson has been on our screens for decades, from the early days of Top Gear, before doing Fifth Gear and Britain's Worst Driver! He's also been a champion of the British driver for almost as long, and what he doesn't know about cars and motoring in this country, frankly isn't worth knowing!

He's one of the biggest YouTube stars in the world, and Sam Fane aka 'Seen Through Glass' is Jason and Dave's special guest this week. From his early days of car spotting in Knightsbridge, to filming some of the most exotic supercars around the world and getting paid for it, Sam's is a brilliant story and this is a cracking episode!

Actor, musician, radio presenter and TV presenter Martin Kemp joins Jason and Dave this week, to talk about the cars that Spandau Ballet paid for, and how he's still got a favourite after all these years!

Celebrity chef and unapologetic petrolhead Paul Ainsworth is Jason and Dave's special guest this week, and what an episode it is! From his early days in a Vauxhall Nova SR, to a supercar supertrip through the gastronomic delights of France, Paul has some fantastic tales to tell as he sits down for a good chinwag with the lads, and there's even a cameo appearance from Roger the window cleaner!

Sky Sports F1 presenter Rachel Brookes travels the globe on the F1 circuit, and has in her own words 'the best job in the world that she wouldn't change for anything!'From interviewing the likes of Lewis Hamilton in their most emotional post race moments, to lugging her suitcases around Abu Dhabi, Rachel has a story or two to tell, which she's more than happy to share with Jason and Dave on the this latest edition of the podcast!

On the day that 'Brawn: The Impossible F1 Story' is released on Disney Plus, Jenson Button joins Jason and Dave to talk about the brilliant Keanu Reeves fronted 4 part series in which he stars, and also chats Vauxhall Cavaliers, Jaguar E-Types and everything in between!

Jason and Dave's special guest this week is consumer champion Dominic Littlewood, who as well as being no stranger to challenging rogue builders and con artists, is also a massive petrolhead, with a real taste for American metal!

He's one of the biggest names in motortainment, and this week Jason and Dave open their virtual gull wing doors, to the one and only James May! He may have been nicknamed 'Captain Slow', but he's certainly lived life in the fast lane on 'Top Gear' and 'The Grand Tour', and as you might imagine, he's more than happy to talk about all that himself, Clarkson and Hammond got up to over the years!

This week, Jason and Dave's special guest is star of the hit TV show 'Car S.O.S', Fuzz Townshend. Having had a career as a bus mechanic, a pop star drummer and now a TV presenter who makes people's car dreams come true, Fuzz has certainly got a story or two to tell!

There's not many men that put Jason and Dave in the shade looks wise, but David Gandy manages to do just that! The world's most famous male supermodel is the boys' special guest this week, and as well as being devilishly dashing and a photographer's dream, David is also a dyed in the wool petrolhead, who likes nothing more than talking about cars!

On this week's episode, the boys are joined by Jason's former TV wife Penny Mallory, whose story is an extraordinary one. From troubled beginnings as a homeless runaway, Penny managed to fulfil her dreams of becoming a top rally driver, before going on to become a TV presenter, a keynote speaker, a motivational coach and now author. There is much to admire about Penny Mallory, although Jason isn't sure about her driving a Tesla!

This week, Jason and Dave welcome onboard a man who is absolute rock 'n' roll royalty! As the lead singer of AC/DC, Brian Johnson is a musical legend, but he's also a dyed in the wool petrolhead who has lived and breathed cars all his life! Talking to the boys from his home in Florida, Brian describes how the love affair with cars first started, and talks about some of the precious metal he's acquired over the years!
