Funked Up MTHFRs

Funked Up MTHFRs is a hilarious, pearl clutching examination of those hard truths that set us free for the MTHFR Exodus for the Rest of Us from systems we were never supposed to be in.  We know it’s the world’s worst name for a faith-based podcast, but give it a chance - and see what you learn. We will discuss politics, history, religion/faith-based concepts, as well as science topics surrounding the MTHFR genetic polymorphism and others associated with DNA methylation, folate metabolism & glutathione production. We will explain these tiny biological systems and how they impact Autism Spectrum Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Addiction, ADD/ADHD/AuDHD, Cardiovascular issues & autoimmune diseases.

Episode 3: Wanna Be Startin' Something

Our story expands the events of 1999. Once again, we head off in the time machine, this time with the help of Michael Jackson & Stephen Curtis Chapman.  As you dive in, you will hear a story woven with great expectations that keeps us starting something. This episode includes a ridiculous story about our first trip to DC to meet with the Big Boys.  Fail enough times, and you will succeed eventually. Don't try, and you've already failed. Dedicated to the memory of Jeana Beck Smith & Nancy Cale.  Huge thanks to my friend who recognized the molecule on the mystery van in our logo for her encouragement. Keep listening for clues - more seeds planted for more episodes down the line!  Follow us to be notified of new episodes and stay funky, my friends! #FunkedUpMTHFRs #MTHFR #autismawareness #MAMA Visit https://www.mthfrs.com/ for more information and check out our MEDucational merch!  Transcripts, along with links to the mentioned papers, and copies of each episode will be stored on the site. Welcome to Funked Up MTHFRs Podcast! We're back & ready to party like you've never imagined in Episode 2 - Party Like It's 1999, covering Power & Politics and how they shape our perception of the world. This episode focuses on the 2025 CDC Autism Prevalence Report, demonstrating a 10% (1 in 10) diagnostic rate for 8-year-olds in the United States. Did you miss that when it came out? Us too. Grab a pencil and take notes because the MAMAs have known this for 14 years, and we are bringing receipts!
