Shalom Chaverim -Today we have a special episode featuring David Daoud. Normally, my Gam v’Gam episodes are reserved for political and social discussions and debate while my On the Road to Zion episodes are reserved for more intimate conversations, we are doing both today. Because David Daoud’s personal story intertwines so much with his professional career, I felt this was a unique opportunity to combine the two. The first half of our conversation focuses on David’s upbringing and personal journey with Judaism and then we transition into extreme depth regarding the situation in Lebanon. David Daoud is a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies focused on Lebanon and Hezbollah. He previously worked as a nonresident fellow at the Atlantic Council, director of Israel, Lebanon, and Syria research at United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI), and a research analyst at FDD. David also has experience working as a staff member on Capitol Hill providing analysis on matters related to the Middle East, Israel, and Iran.David holds a JD with a concentration in International Law and the Laws of Armed Conflict from Suffolk University in Boston. He is fluent in Arabic and Hebrew and has spent extensive time living in the Middle East, primarily in Israel and Lebanon. Today, we speak with Jenny Anne Hochberg, a New York based actor, acting coach, content creator, and Jewish activist. Many of my own friends and people in my circle were convinced that Trump was going to lose because they “couldn’t imagine why anyone would vote for him,” especially if they voted for Clinton or Biden previously. The answer as to why Harris lost lies in the fact that they had to imagine anything to begin with because they refused to earnestly engage with anyone who might’ve voted for him. This past weekend, Israel did something no one ever thought would happen: They actually attacked Iranian soil. There’s a lot to unpack, and a lot of people have extreme takes from both sides but the most interesting ones are those who say Israel didn’t go far enough by refusing to attack Iran’s nuclear sites and energy infrastructure. Many are saying Israel should take advantage and go for the throat to topple the regime. The question is though, “Is that even possible?”I had the pleasure of sitting down with Shay Khatiri who is the VP of Development and a Senior Fellow at Yorktown Institute. He’s also an Iranian national and a declared enemy of the state who participated in the famous Green Movement in 2009. Back when Trump was POTUS, the Washington Post made a big deal about their tagline, "Democracy dies in darkness." However, when you look at the paper's Instagram feed, you can clearly see that they have no interest in supporting democracy. They aren't the only the ones. The entire mainstream media has decided that they are no longer skeptical journalists determined to uncover the truth, but rather the vanguard for their specific truth and that of the progressive wing of this country.
