Game Time With Manny
by Manny
My name is Manny and I like to play video games in my free time. I write a whole bunch on my blog, which is located at www.gametimewm.blogspot.comYou have stumbled upon the place where I host my hot new Podcast, which is aptly named Game Time With Manny. Every two weeks my friend Matt and I get together to talk about the latest gaming news, and the games we've been playing. For the second half of the podcast we normally chat about a specific topic at length.
-
312
Episode 306 - Industry Dying
We are back again to talk more about how the video game industry is crumbling into dust before our very eyes. Xbox specifically is digging their own grave in an attempt for Microsoft to get any value out of them! It sucks! Outside of that I chat about Lost and Found Co. and Matt continues his 7th generation journey!
-
311
Episode 305 - SGF 2026
SGF has descended upon the video game world once again. so we are flooded with news from the PlayStation State of Play, SGF proper, and the Xbox Showcase! So many new games and things to talk about! On top of that I am juggling 5 new releases with Forza Horizon 6, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, Mina the Hollower, and 007: First Light! Then Matt played a ton of stuff to rank as well! It's a chunky one!
-
310
Episode 304 - Video Games Eve
We go over the little news out there, but it's okay because we know next episode SGF will make way for video game news to wash over us once again. I played very little trying to save myself for the five upcoming releases I need to juggle while Matt played 4 million games on his continued journey through the PS3/360 era.

Episode 303 - New Boot Animation
Episode 303 - New Boot Animation by Manny

308
Episode 302 - JRPG Matt
Time marches on so that means more VIDEO GAMES! I played and beat Pragmata, which I found to be excellent. Matt started playing a JRPG and actually likes it enough to maybe finish it!? Find out all this and more on this hot new episode.
-
307
Episode 301 - No News is Good News
We return just days after the previous episode so there was literally no news to talk about. Instead I went way deep into my feelings on Screamer and People of Note!
-
306
Episode 300 - The Best 150 Games of All Time
Kept you waiting huh!? It's the 300th episode of the podcast! We had to wait a bit longer than usual due to Matt's internet sucking butt and some personal stuff, but we show up refreshed and ready to give you the definitive list of the best 150 games of all time. It's undisputable!
-
305
Episode 299 - Sorry to the Mama Fans
We start off with me telling the world about my most avid hater. They were posting on my decade old Babysitting Mama video for MULTIPLE DAYS in a row. The video game industry continues to crumble so we talk about the shutting down of highguard. To finish off I gush about Pokopia and Slay the Spire 2, and Matt continues on with Diablo 3.
-
304
Episode 298 - Happy Retirement Phil Spencer
The video game industry is crumbling around us, so I get a little upset and rant about how dumb Riot and Sony are while also talking about how Microsoft is having the roughest time of all. At least the State of Play was pretty good HUH? I continue to live on my own personal JRPG hell while Matt played Diablo 3 and watched the Olympics.
-
303
Episode 297 - Howdy Partner Direct
I don't even know what I'm naming these anymore. Anyways, there was a Nintendo Partner Direct and it was probably cool if you play the Switch 2 as a portable or haven't played games in the past 5-10 years. So we talk about that! I have become a citizen of Zumeria because I beat Trails Through Daybreak II and am now a decent ways into Trails Beyond the Horizon despite the fact that I said I wouldn't do them back to back. Big mistake!
-
302
Episode 296 - Trails into Nothing
It seems like we talk about how we don't understand what the hell is going on with major video game publishers ever week now and we repeat that here. Weird marketing by Nintendo. whatever the hell Xbox has going on, and Ubisoft restructuring. It's all weird! I decided playing an insanely long JRPG where nothing happens would be a good idea, and Matt continued his journey through the 7th generation of consoles with some Madden on the Wii!
-
301
Episode 295 - Remember the Move
We return for our first regular episode of 2026! Not much news other than some Xbox speculation and wondering what games are actually going to come out this year. I regale you with tales of Power Wash Simulator 2, and Split Fiction while Matt played tons more games from the 7th generation of consoles which he also ranked! You can find and stay up to date with his list here: https://rankingthe7th.wordpress.com/

Episode 292 - Secret CSI
We return for another week of the hottest action in video gaming! The Game Awards happened so we go over that! Then I talk about Rhythm Doctor and Unbeatable! So you can get your rhythm gaming fix. Matt has started to play more games again now that hockey has released its hold on him. Turns out I forgot that Telltale made a CSI adventure game, but Matt sure didn't!
-
297
Episode 291 - Tumblr Hole
It's a light week, but we make the most of it. I got into Rhythm Doctor while Matt busted out the Order of the Phoenix Game. Word on the street is that it's not great!
-
296
Episode 290 - All the Categories Are Bad
It's that time of year where we get upset that genre awards still exist as we talk about how the games in the Game Awards are good, but the categories continue to be absolute dog water and often don't make sense! Then I talk a bunch about Inazuma Eleven Victory Road and dabble a bit in Kingdoms of the Dump!
-
295
Episode 289 - The Console Wars Are Over
Not much news has come through again, but we have heard from the front that the console wars are finally over. We go over that and then talk about the hottest new releases like Once Upon a Katamari and Vampire Survivors...
-
294
Episode 288 - Dangers of Ticket to Ride
This week we learn about the dangers of playing Ticket to Ride with a 9 year old who doesn't fully grasp the rules and Matt teaches us some about modern hockey. Pretty much nothing happened in the news, so Matt explores the joys of NHL 17 while I go off about Pokemon Legends ZA and Ball x Pit!
-
293
Episode 287 - Saudi EAbria
We're back again with an off cycle podcast, but it's okay because VIDEO GAMES ARE HAPPENING. There are so many that I can barely keep up. We talk about those, and some insane 360 era games Matt picked up. As for the news Xbox continues to implode as a brand and EA was acquired. Get in now to hear all about it!
-
292
Episode 286 - Premium Gaming
Recording on an off day and me forgetting to upload the podcast. Name a more iconic duo! We go over some early TGS news and then talk about how Randy Pitchford should probably just shut up because Borderlands 4 is actually pretty good.
-
291
Episode 285 - Return of the Virtual Boy
We had to delay almost a week due to life circumstances, but it worked out because Nintendo dropped their largest direct to date right before we recorded. So obviously we talk about that and a bit about some random stuff that happened over the past few weeks. Matt played a bunch of 360 games which he adds to his rankings for us and then I talk all about Hollow Knight Silksong!
-
290
Episode 284 -CLOWNS NO MORE
We are clowns no more! Gamescom got us a Silksong release date and much more! We talk about that and the 45 minute video of Sakurai playing Kirby Air Riders! I haven't been playing much, but Matt tells us all about the end of the Sabateur!
-
289
Episode 283 - Have You Heard of Fortnite
Original Switch princes increasing, THQ announcing games, and recording on the correct day! It's a banger of a podcast. I started playing Fortnite in the year of our lord 2025, and Matt continued to play the Saboteur!
-
288
Episode 282 - Oh Banana
The schedule has been a bit off due to rescheduled recordings but at least this one is going up on a Sunday! Hopefully next week we can resume the regular schedule. However, that doesn't mean this is a light episode! We chat about some Nintendo news (sadly the day before the partner direct), Supermassive layoffs, and the Steam/Itch.io payment processing situation. Then to finish we talk about our time with the Mario Party Jamboree DLC, Metal Gear Solid Rising Revengence, and Donkey Kong Bananza!
-
287
Episode 281 - DK Eve
Just like every other time we record on an odd day I forgot to upload this for almost two weeks! If you're still interested you can listen to us react to the insane Microsoft layoffs and then talk a bunch about Viva Pinata!
-
286
Episode 280 - Standless
This week I am super happy because I am not playing Death Stranding 2. Kojima can't fool me twice! We hit up the big news stories over the past two weeks like Marathon's indefinite delay, WB Games restructuring, DK Bananza looking cool, and the SAG-AFTRA strike ending. Matt continued to play Borderlands the Pre-Sequel, while I finished up Doom the Dark Ages and went back to my 800 million hour playthrough of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition.
-
285
Episode 279 - Switch to SGF
Video gaming comes to the masses with the launch of the Switch 2 and Summer Game Fest 2025 streams. Matt and I chat about the three main showcases around SGF and how we felt about them. We transition to what we have been playing and the Switch 2! Matt played Borderlands the Pre-sequel and I spent all my time on my hot new Switch 2. Sadly I played the awful Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour, but I also got way into the awesome Mario Kart World!
-
284
Episode 278 - Teen
The news is dominated by the Switch 2 since it comes out in less than a week! Sadly there is also another studio closure! The industry is doing great! Matt finished Doom the Dark Ages while I got about halfway through. I started To a T, and beat Fantasy Life i. Turns out Level-5 might be back?
-
283
Episode 277 - My Top Ten Redo
There was essentially no news this week, so we ramble a bit and then get into what we have been playing. Obviously Doom: The Dark Ages is top of mind for both of us, but I also bought a CRT to play extremely relevant releases like Super Smash Bros. Melee and Chibi-Robo. To finish we finally get the time to redo my top ten games of all time list, which to the surprise of no one is not very different!
-
282
Episode 276 - This is Fine
We had a couple weeks of no bad news, but that all ended this week. If you don't want to hear me get angry and sad about the state of games media then you can skip this one. Xbox Prices go up, GTA VI delayed, Respawn layoffs, Giant Bomb and Polygon gutted. Only the most uplifting topics! Then we move on to what we have been playing! Both Matt and I played some Oblivion Remastered. I focused on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, while Matt also played Forza Horizon 5 and Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. I skip out on my top 10 update again since we went long. Will we finally do it next episode? Who could say.
-
281
Episode 275 - Inazuma Rises From the Ashes
Finally we get a week without terrible depressing news in the industry! Inazuma returns and is out this August, Switch 2 pre-orders are back on in the US and Canada, The Oblivion Remake is super real and coming out soon, and we know so much more about Mario Kart World. I played Split Fiction, Promise Mascot Agency, and Blue Prince. Matt played Donkey Kong Country Returns HD and Gears of War 4. Both of us played South of Midnight! I was going to redo my top ten games of all time list this week, but I punted until next time. I had a list but I wasn't fully confident with it yet. Look forward to it next time for real!
-
280
Episode 274 - True Switch 2 Reveal
This week is all about Nintendo. We talk about the Switch direct and then talk about the Switch 2 direct and all of its follow-up for the rest of the time. It's a lot to digest, so make sure you're ready.
-
279
Episode 273 - Almost 100k
The news is not very exciting, but Sony got some new studios and there might be an Oblivion remake? Anyways, Matt played a ton of stuff like Fear and one of the greatest games of all time VIVA PINATA. I on the other hand played the Xenoblade Chronicles X Remake.
-
278
Episode 272 - Matt's Top 10 Redo
This week we go over some cool announcements like the Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4 remakes, and what was shown about Pokemon Legends AZ. Then we turn over to the regular awful news of Monolith being closed and the Wonder Woman game getting cancelled... I regale the podcast with tales of the 50+ hours I spent in Monster Hunter Wilds over the course of a week and Matt tells us about how he beat Rogue Legacy! To finish Matt rethought his Top Ten games of all time and lets us know what he decided on. A lot of it is quite surprising!
-
277
Episode 271 - It's About to Get Wild
A bunch of showcases got announced for next week, but we mainly discuss the slew of games announced and shown at the recent PlayStation State of Play. It was actually a pretty good one. We finish off with me talking about the new games I played these past few weeks like Trails Through Daybreak 2, and Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.
-
276
Episode 270 - Why are you walking around
Windows is my arch nemesis and changed the volume of my mic, so it sounds super blown out the entire episode. aghhhhhh! Anyways, we talk again about how the entire video games industry is crumbling! At least the Switch 2 joycons can be used as a mouse though! To finish we chat about the games we've been playing and even some like Citizen Sleeper 2 and Rift of the Necrodancer came out in 2025! Get in early!
-
275
Episode 269 - Switch 2 REVEALED
We hop into the podcast this week to talk about how the Switch 2 was finally unveiled by Nintendo, Sony cancelled some live service games, and Xbox put on a great Developer Direct. We both played a bunch of games, so we talk about those a while before transitioning into determining what the best exclusive Switch games of all time are!
-
274
Episode 268 - We're Leaking
We're back for the first podcast of 2025! We talk a bit about the insane amount of Switch 2 leaks recently, How Assassin's Creed Shadows is delayed again, and how Stardew Valley sold a bazillion copies. I didn't play anything new so Matt tells us about the myriad of games he's been getting into before we transition into a fun game for part 3. True fans may remember when we did Play a game all the way through, just one hour, or not at all and we did it again for a bunch of upcoming and potentially upcoming 2025 games.
-
273
Episode 267 - GOTY 2024
The year is ending, so that means it's time for Matt, Noukeo and I to regale you with our top ten video games of the year. For those unfamiliar we start with our number ten and then go around the horn counting down until we reach our number one games of the year. This year it's even more surprising than usual because you have no idea what year the games Matt played will be coming from, while Noukeo and I stuck to 2024. For spoilers here are the time stamps for the games in the order they are talked about in case you want to hear specific things and are wildly impatient. 3:50-Forza Horizon 3 5:52-Wild Frost 10:02-Starwars Outlaws 20:15-Nexomon 22:30-Dragon Age: The Veilguard 34:40-Mafia Definitive Edition 37:55-Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth 48:24-Borderlands 58:10-The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak 1:07:38-UFO 50 1:16:17-Vanquish 1:19:18-Marvel Rivals 1:29:43-Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes 1:33:18-Nine Sols 1:37:47-Alan Wake 2 1:40:18-Astro Bot 1:48:34-Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown 1:52:11-Final Fantasy VII Rebirth 2:02:05-Balatro 2:08:06-Bioshock Infinite 2:11:15-Zenless Zone Zero 2:27:07-Metroid Prime Remastered 2:30:25-Stellar Blade 2:39:44-Metaphor: ReFantazio

272
Bonus Pod - The Making of Matt's 2024 GOTY List
Matt recorded himself going through his thought process on getting to his top ten list for 2024.
-
271
Episode 266 - GOTY Categories 2024
Matt and I discuss the highlights of the game awards and how he became totally Balatro pilled before moving into our yearly game of the year categories. This year is a bit different and he played mostly old games, so we hear about those from him but I stick to 2024 and let you know all about what was HOT.
-
270
Episode 265 - The Diver Returns
We go over the few news stories and then transition into why I have been watching TV instead of playing games. Don't worry though because as usual Matt has been going absolutely ham and playing a bunch. To finish we bring back a rare part 3 as we figure out what our collective favorite game of 2023 was!
-
269
Episode 263 - Backwards Compatability
We go over the tidbits of news like the Nintendo Music App, and Sony closing Firewalk Studios. Then we get into all the hot games we've been playing. I have gone hard into Dragon Age: The Veilguard and Matt hit up titles like Prodeus and Dicey Dungeons.
-
268
Episode 262 - Far Cry 3 Jamboree
We return with a wildly barebones news week. While we do discuss the disbanding of the studio behind Prince of Persia the lost crown I fill the rest of the time letting you know how I feel about my Alarmo. As for what we have been playing I finished Metaphor and Good Boy Galaxy while diving back into Hades II. Matt finished Saint's Row 2 and moved on to Far Cry 3.
-
267
Episode 261 - Sound The Alarmo
It's been a wild two weeks since the last podcast. Nintendo announced an alarm clock, Ubisoft is in for a potential buyout and the original Red Dead is coming to PC finally. Despite the fact that I had COVID for a week I still managed to play a bit of Zelda, start and stop Victory Heat Rally when I lost my save data, and binge Metaphor: Refantazio for 25 hours! Matt took a much more interesting approach and sampled a ton of games for 15 minutes and reports his feelings on which he might continue and which he thought were no good.
-
266
Episode 260 - $699
We took an extra week off because I was in San Francisco for vacation! Now that I've returned we go over a lot of news like the very pricey PS5 Pro, TGS announcements, PalWorld being sued by Nintendo, and Assassin's Creed Shadows being delayed. I played SO many new games like the Plucky Squire, Balatro, UFO 50, and Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Matt has continued to stick with older games like Dragon's Dogma, Stuntman: Ignition, and Crackdown. We have so much to discuss so this one goes a bit longer than recent episodes!
-
265
Episode 259 - ASTRO BOT
We return for a week of relatively little news. A pair of Nintendo Directs happened, Annapurna and Remedy teamed up, and... CONCORD GOT SHUT DOWN AFTER TWO WEEKS! Matt regales us with tales of Saints Row 2, Mass Effect, and Super Metroid before I let you know Star Wars Outlaws is pretty mid and Astro Bot is incredible.
-
264
Episode 258 - The Babies
My desktop decided that it didn't want to work today so I quickly pivoted to recording on my desktop. There were no issues there until Matt started to talk about the film Anaconda. Coincidence? I'll let you be the juge. Gamescom happened and we talk about that and some of the news surrounding it. I didn't really play much to save myself for the coming barrage of new releases, but Matt played Need for Speed Undercover and Turok (2008)
-
263
Episode 257 - Fist Bump
Video game news always seems to be depressing now. We get upset about some layoffs and then go into detail about the shutdown of Industry staple Game Informer. As for what we played I have continued Octopath Traveler 2, but got into the 2KXO beta and share my thoughts on that. Matt continues to go ham and beat Army of Two, and began playing the first PSP God of War Game.
