The REAL History of Vampires || Ghosteas || Paranormal Podcast
The belief in vampires has been around for centuries - long before we had the term. The fear of the dead rising up from their graves and wreaking havoc on our communities has been something that societies put quite a bit of thought into probably since the beginning of humankind. We have evidence dating back thousands of years that the undead terrorized our population in one way or another. Though the term has changed, as have the descriptions and ways of dealing with them, vampires still exist today. They’re in our literature and film, they’re a part of most cultures, and some even believe that the supernatural beings still walk among us. So today I wanted to take some time and discuss what the vampire is, what it means and has meant to the people of the world for thousands of years, and tell some of the most famous stories of real-life vampires. Thank you, Patrons, for choosing this topic! Hauntings of Boston MA || part 2 || Ghosteas || Paranormal Podcast
Last week we discussed the history of the historic city of Boston, MA. We also took a little dive into some of the haunted cemeteries and parks in town. But it just wasn’t enough to cover that little bit of ghostly lore, so today we are returning to Boston to discuss even more of its more well-known paranormal hotspots – like the Omni Parker and Liberty Hotels, a haunted home with a backstory in true crime, a haunted fort used during the civil war, and Faneuil Hall that seems to replay the echoes of Boston’s past! REAL Bigfoot Encounters || Ghosteas Tea Party #111
One thing about Nadoly that you may know if you’ve been here with us for a while is that she is a believer of bigfoot! She may have a harder time with some of the other cryptids and oddities we talk about, but when it comes to Bigfoot, he’s got her hooked. So today, I thought we’d go on the hunt through some of our listener stories for encounters with the elusive creature! We have several encounters, all of them interesting and if you make it to the last story it may actually resemble something else we’ve talked about here before! But you’ll have to wait until the end for that one! Haunted Boston Part 1 || Ghosteas || Paranormal Podcast
When we think of older cities, we often think of the people who lived there, the monumental events that happened within its borders, and the impact it had on the community. Here at Ghosteas, we also think of all of the city’s residents that may be sticking around long after their earthly bodies have perished. The case is no different for a historic city like Boston, Massachusetts. In many cases, just like with today’s topic, the life changing, even world changing, occurrences within a city’s borders ripple through time and space, leaving a mark on the land that some claim show themselves as spirits centuries later. Today we’re starting part one of the hauntings of Boston, a city steeped in history and ghostly tales! This episode will be dedicated to the history of the US’s oldest cities and dive into some of the most haunted spots today. The Mystery of Lake Michigan || Ghosteas || Paranormal Podcast
The Great Lakes are a beautiful and integral part of industry in the Midwest and Canada. But they also hold a great many secrets beneath their waves. They can be dangerous and incredibly mysterious to those willing to set sail from their shores. Even a quick preliminary search of these waters will bring you stories of sea monsters, cursed ships, wrecks and mass casualties; and after starting my own journey into learning more about these Inland Seas, I’ve found too many tales to count. So we’ll be dedicating an episode over time to each of these 5 lakes, beginning today with Lake Michigan and the idea that there is a mysterious Bermuda triangle of the north that can have strange and often devastating effects on quite a few vessels that cross into its borders. Today we’re covering a few of the unusual events that occurred within the Lake Michigan Triangle. SUMMERWEEN MERCH Episode 1 of Paranormal Games Episode 2 of Paranormal Games Today we’re revisiting a topic that we LOVE; so much so that we’ve done 2 other episodes on it already! Today we’re talking about paranormal games, and the consequences that could come if you open yourself up to the other side without precaution. Like with all of our paranormal game episodes, this is not to entice you to play or encourage any of this. This is simply for education and entertainment purposes. If you are going to play games like these, it is imperative that you know what you’re doing and you take necessary precautions, like prayer and protective rituals. Again, we are not promoting the playing of these games and would honestly prefer it if you didn’t… That being said, after our tea, we’ll be telling you all about The Real Bloody Mary, The Hooded Man, The Hosting Game, The Man in the Field, and One Step Ahead. Appalachian Mystery: The Flatwoods Monster || Ghosteas || Paranormal Podcast
It was the evening of September 12, 1952. Several young boys between the ages of 10 and 13 were playing on the lawn of their small town elementary school playground. They were running back and forth, playing a game of football, when 3 of the boys looked up into the sky. A large ball of light was moving across the town above them. They watched as it made its way over to a hill near G. Bailey Fisher’s farm before floating down behind the trees. One of the boys shouted to their friends that it must be a shooting star and that there might be gold inside. Excited, the boys made plans to head on up to the site and make new discoveries. Together with the mother of 2 of the boys, and an older relative in the national guard, they trekked through the woods and on to something completely unexpected. What they didn’t know as they marched up the hill was that they were about to encounter something so frightening and unexplainable that people would still be talking about it more than 70 years later. Today we’ll be telling you all about what they experienced out on that hill and their encounter with what is known today as The Flatwoods Monster… This week's Tea: Flourish Hibiscus Berry Share your stories with us: [email protected] Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, & TikTok YouTube Spotify Apple Podcasts Check out our PATREON MERCH: available in US only Our PO Box: 1106 Main St PO Box 576 Bastrop, TX 78602 Stay haunted, stay curious, and stay tuned for more Ghosteas! 👻🍵 Learn more about your ad choices. OUR BIGGEST FEAR || Deep Sea Haunts || Ghosteas || Paranormal Podcast
We all know the feeling. Pure, unadulterated fear. When that pit begins to form in your stomach and your chest tightens. Your heart is racing and your breath catches in your throat. That chill that washes over your body from the tip of your toes, all the way up to the top of your head. Your hands trembling every cell in your body telling you to get out. That feeling when you can hardly speak as your body decides on its own how it's going to escape whatever danger lies before you. We sometimes get that feeling telling stories here of dark entities and terrifying nightmares. But if you’ve spent much time here with us at Ghosteas, then you know there are plenty of fears that we have between the two of us. One that we share and have talked about countless times is thalassophobia, or a fear of large bodies of water. Now that the warmer months are upon us, at least for us on this side of the world, I thought it would be appropriate to combine some of our fears – the unknown, the dark, the paranormal, the ocean – and tell stories of hauntings at sea. I’ve gathered several stories from around the web of people who have experienced some unnerving encounters while out on the ocean. We have everything from suspected ghosts, unknown creatures in the depths, aliens above the open waters, and I even threw in a few creepy tales that have nothing to with the paranormal but still gave me that uneasy feeling in my gut. For those of you planning those beach vacations, this is for you… Also, a huge shoutout to our patrons who helped pick this topic. This option literally blew the rest out of the water this month! Peggy: The World's Most Haunted Doll || Ghosteas || Paranormal Podcast
We’ve talked about haunted dolls before, and admittedly, they are creepy. But after researching today’s topic, I can honestly say this might be the most scared I’ve been. There is a doll that just the mention of her name can cause trouble in people’s lives, so beware as you listen today. I may have even been afflicted by the powers of the spirits within this object. But more on that later. This is your warning. Peggy The Doll, first discovered by paranormal investigators in the UK in 2014, has caused intense dreams, paranormal activity, and even extreme health events for people, and dogs, who have merely looked at her image online. She now resides in Zak Bagan’s Vegas museum, but before she landed there, she’s earned quite the reputation with countless experiences documented by people all over the world. Though she doesn’t exactly look as you’d imagine a haunted doll to look (a la Annabelle movies) she seems to be very powerful, and there is speculation that something very dark and even demonic may be connected to her. As I said, prepare yourself for this episode. This is your warning now. We have decided not to show images of the doll in this episode out of precaution for us and all of our listeners. But still a warning. There have been many many MANY negative reactions by people who have merely seen images of this doll, including severe illness and pet deaths. We don’t know for sure, like with so many things in the paranormal world, whether or not the doll itself has caused all of this, but it has happened with such regularity that we’d be fools not to consider the possibility. Hidebehinds || Ghosteas || Paranormal Podcast
As the sun begins to set, you look around and realize that you’ve stayed out too late. It will be completely dark before you’re able to make it out of the woods. You’ve had this feeling for the last hour or so like you’re being watched, but every time you look up, there isn’t anyone, or anything, nearby. So you gather your things and move quickly to get back to your camp, those eyes, wherever they are, still lingering on you.You only make it a few meters before you hear rustling in the leaves behind you. You freeze. Turning around you see nothing. You breathe a sigh of relief, telling yourself that you’re just tense from the fleeting sunlight and it was probably a lizard or small animal of some kind. You continue walking, but there’s that sound again, a little closer this time. More quickly this time you turn around and scan the area. Still nothing. A nervous laugh escapes your throat involuntarily and you check every tree one last time before picking up the pace to a near jog along the trail out of the forest. But the noise is growing louder and faster, as if it's catching up to you, whatever it is. You turn again, this time catching a glimpse of a shadow ducking behind the tree a short distance from where you are standing. A cold sweat forms on your brow and a pit in your stomach. You’ve heard stories like this before, and you know that it never ends well for those who come face to face with a hidebehind. Haunted Healthcare: Real *SCARY* Stories from Healthcare Workers || Ghosteas Tea Party #102
If there is one thing I think we can unanimously agree on, it’s that healthcare workers are some of the most amazing people on the planet. They take care of our sick and elderly. They spend hours upon hours doing a sometimes thankless job, dealing with a heavy emotional burden surrounded by tragedy and death. Something else I think we can agree on is that some of their stories associated with the paranormal are insane. So today we are going to take a look at some stories from our listeners who work in healthcare when they’ve come face to face with the entities that haunt the halls of care homes and hospitals. Haunted Denver PART ONE
We are sad that we’re moving out of Appalachia, but I wasn’t quite done with the mountains yet. Several weeks ago, we had a listener write in suggesting we look into the Croke-Patterson mansion in Denver. After hearing their story, I was intrigued! So we’re going to take a trip over to the West and into the Rocky Mountains and talk about the most haunted places in Denver, Colorado. We couldn’t cover everything in one episode, so this one is going to be a 2 parter! Today you'll hear all about the Patterson Inn, Molly Brown House Museum, and the haunted Cheesman Park. Now, if you want more Appalachia, we did put together a bonus episode on Patreon. It’s haunted roads, the Appalachian version. The Appalachian Legend of Moon-Eyed People || Ghosteas || Paranormal Podcast
We’ve spent the last month talking about all things Appalachia. Undoubtedly, there are some strange and eerie things happening in those mountains. There are many theories about the different kinds of creatures and entities living in the woods and each one of them brings their own unique and frightening tales for us to share. Last week we discussed something called Crawlers, and if you didn’t watch that one, I suggest you check it out because it was horrifying, but one of the theories as to what these creatures could be involved ancient beings living in the caves of Appalachia. That alone interests me. But what if I told you that there may be ancient legend and lore pointing to the existence of such a thing? Over on Patreon, our supporters chose this topic in our poll, and I was so excited when they did! Because the Moon-Eyed People of the Appalachian Mountains have been talked about for centuries, and some claim that the old Cherokee legend is more than just legend, but truth. And some believe that these beings, whoever or whatever they might be, still exist. REAL FOOTAGE & a 911 Call Could Be Proof That Crawlers Exists || Scary Appalachia Stories
Last summer, in episode 133, listener stories 53, Kharma wrote to us telling us about a chilling experience they had in the summer of 2020. They had seen what they described as a crawler… Since that time, I have been fascinated by these beings and have had this topic on my list of episodes. I initially believed that crawlers were concentrated around the Appalachia area (hence their place in Appalachia April) and they absolutely sound like something that belongs in these woods, but in doing my research, I have found that they go far beyond those mountains. They have been seen all over North America, and I have several stories for you today that will no doubt give you that same sense of unease as the rest of our topics have this month. So, I guess for this one it turns out to not be totally Appalachia based, but about something that does reside here and gives off that same Appalachia vibe. In this episode you'll find: 👻the story of the Dover Demon 🍵cave dwelling crawlers in Appalachia and BEYOND 👻talk of a REAL 911 call of a man who may have seen a crawler 🍵horrifying first-hand encounters with PALE CRAWLERS 👻video footage of a crawler (or maybe a skinwalker) This week's Tea: Muddy River Conjure Chamomint Passion Berry Share your stories with us: [email protected] Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, & TikTok YouTube Spotify Apple Podcasts Check out our PATREON MERCH: available in US only Our PO Box: 1106 Main St PO Box 576 Bastrop, TX 78602 Stay haunted, stay curious, and stay tuned for more Ghosteas! 👻🍵 Learn more about your ad choices. HAUNTED TRAILS IN THE NORTHERN APPALACHIANS ~ Bar Harbor, Maine & Acadia National Park
Most of the time, when we think of Appalachia we think of the southern mountain ranges – places like Kentucky, West Virginia, and North Carolina. But the Appalachian Mountain Range technically stretches from Alabama to Newfoundland, and the Scottish Highlands are even believed to have once been a part of this ancient land when Pangea was formed. So I thought we'd dedicate an episode during Appalachia April to the north. Today, we’re telling haunting tales from a national park that’s part of this ancient mountain range, Acadia National Park, and a small island town nearby, Bar Harbor, Maine. We'll hit on places like the phantom trails, Ledgelawn Inn, Compass Harbor Trail, and the Devil's Oven... Our Listeners Haunted Appalachian Houses || Ghosteas Tea Party #97
We all love a good haunted house story. Hearing about strange noises in the night from a ghost with a backstory is exactly how I like to spend my time. What makes a haunted house even spookier, in my opinion, is knowing that the home sits on land that is ancient and mysterious. Haunted houses in Appalachia are automatically something next level creepy, and so today that’s what I’m bringing to you. These are stories from our listeners who live in haunted houses in Appalachia! The House is Bleeding?! || The Atlanta Blood House || Ghosteas || Paranormal Podcast
Late into the night of September 8, 1972, Minnie Winston was taking a bath before going to bed. It had been a typical warm fall day in the south, and a nice bath was just what she needed to wash away her sweat and any worries she may have had while taking care of her husband. She had always been more of a night owl and her husband, William, the only other person living with her at the time, had been asleep for a couple of hours at this point, tired and frail from his battle with his health at his older age. The house was still and quiet as Minnie stepped out of the tub. But as she put her foot down, she realized that what she thought was water was stickier than it should have been. She lifted her foot and found that there was a strange red substance on the floor. She was confused, because she hadn’t seen it when she got into the tub and it seemed to be coming from in between the tiles. Not concerned at this point she walked out into the hallway, noticing more red spots all along the way. It was splattered on the floor and across the bottom of the walls. She went to her bedroom to check on her husband and make sure all was well. He laid there, still sleeping just as he had been before she got into the tub. She wasn’t really sure what was happening and woke him up, letting him know that something strange was going on. It seemed their house was bleeding… This week's Tea: Montana Tea & Spice Trading Wild Huckleberry Share your stories with us: [email protected] Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, & TikTok YouTube Spotify Apple Podcasts Check out our PATREON MERCH: available in US only Our PO Box: 1106 Main St PO Box 576 Bastrop, TX 78602 If you're craving more ghostly goodness, remember to watch our videos on YouTube! 🎧 Stay haunted, stay curious, and stay tuned for more Ghosteas! 👻🍵 Learn more about your ad choices. Near Death Experiences & An Astral Yoink || Ghosteas Tea Party #95
We did an entire episode on NDEs a very long time ago, so if you want to learn more about the science behind near death experiences then you can check out episode 5. But today we will be telling stories from you guys that tell of something similar to that phenomenon like an anonymous listener’s grandmother experiencing that classic NDE before she ultimately passed, but also several that are a little harder to explain. Or Breanna’s brush with death and the voice that may have saved her life; A listener who believes they had their own near death experience, but there was something far darker waiting outside their body; and a listener who was saved from a devastating accident, but thinks there may be something out there that isn’t happy they survived… This week's Tea: Bigelow Earl Grey Share your stories with us: [email protected] Follow us on Instagram YouTube Spotify Apple Podcasts Check out our PATREON MERCH: available in US only Our PO Box: 1106 Main St PO Box 576 Bastrop, TX 78602 If you're craving more ghostly goodness, remember to watch our videos on YouTube! 🎧 Stay haunted, stay curious, and stay tuned for more Ghosteas! 👻🍵 Learn more about your ad choices. Tulpas & The Paranormal Experiment That Created a Haunting
We often ask a question here on the pod – can people manifest their own hauntings. We know that hauntings have occurred via summoning with objects like ouija boards. There are also residual hauntings from large amounts of spiritual energy being imprinted on to a space, like traumatic or extremely happy moments or even repetitive events that leave their mark on a home or a piece of land that can still be felt years after those people are gone. But what about creating a haunting purely from thought? There are some who believe that this is possible, so today we’re discussing tulpas, egregores and a group who believes they may have created their own spirit simply by thinking of him. We’re about to get weird, so I hope you have your tea and your craft ready for this one. The Ghosts & Dragons...? of Poland || Ghosteas || Paranormal Podcast
Poland is a country with a very long and turbulent history. Its ancient roots go back thousands of years when it was believed that a diverse population of ethnic groups inhabited the land of present-day Poland long before the first ruling dynasty took over in the 10th century. It has seen many rulers with different ideals of how a nation should be led. It's been through war where countless people have lost their lives for one nefarious reason or another. Its journey to the current democratic republic it is, is fascinating, but more fascinating to us here at Ghosteas is the potential for paranormal activity and legends stemming from its storied history. So, when we received an email a bit ago from one of our listeners detailing the translation of several ghostly tales from Poland, we couldn’t wait to tell you! So today, we're bringing you paranormal Polish tales as well as the legend of the Wawel Dragon! The HORRIFYING History of The Eastern State Penitentiary || Ghosteas || Paranormal Podcast
When it comes to haunted locations, we all know prisons will nearly always make the list. But what kind of paranormal activity can you expect from a place known for its cruel and unusual methods? What kind of darkness lies in wait when the building was used for punishment that is known to have driven some mad, that is if they survived it at all. Today, we’re talking about one such place. The Eastern State Penitentiary is known for its transformation of the prison system when it was opened, and the supposed hauntings of those who endured it ever since. We’ve had a topic like this before, and I have wanted to return to it for so long! So when our Patrons chose this topic I was ecstatic. Today we are returning to our hometown haunts theme! Growing up, most of us have lived in a town with a strange, spooky legend or two. If there is an old, abandoned house down the street that your friend has seen the lights going on or off in the night, or if there is a bridge known for ghostly sightings, then we want to hear about it! Paranormal or Psychological? || Ghosteas Interpret Your Dreams || Ghosteas Tea Party #90 || Paranormal Podcast
If you’ve been here with us for a little bit, then you know we love dreams. The silly, the strange, and more importantly, the spooky! So I thought that since we were talking about dreams earlier this week with the Backrooms and Mall World episode (if you haven’t watched that yet, go check it out) now would be the perfect time to do our episode on dreams. So I’ve gathered a few dreams from our listeners to read today. Some are interesting and I’ll definitely be grabbing my dream journal that totally exists despite what some of my haters (NADOLY) have been saying. And some of these dreams just feel like that is some kind of negative energetic influence. We’ll talk about it as we go through and we’d like to hear from you in the comments as well. Let us know if you agree that there is something going on here, if you have a different interpretation than we do, or if you have a strange dream you want to share! This week's Tea: Benner Tea Co. The Backrooms, Liminal Spaces, and Mall World || Ghosteas || Paranormal Podcast
Today’s episode is going to be a little different. It started with a topic chosen by Patreon, but as I was doing my research, it went in a strange direction. So let’s get weird for a little bit. Today we are talking about liminal spaces, dreams, and what could be a shared dreamscape between people who have never met one another. It’s almost a continuation of a topic we talked about on Patreon a few months ago, though you don’t have to watch that episode to see this one. What started with the internet lore of The Backrooms, turned into a look at dreams, Mall World, and a few stories of people who claim to have experienced eerie things in liminal spaces. Today’s topic may feel familiar, like something you’ve experienced before but you just can’t put your finger on it. And I’ll warn you ahead of time, we will not have answers or evidence to back up our theories. Today we are simply telling stories and thinking through the spookier aspects of what could be a kind of interdimensional location. So, it may be unsatisfying by the end, but it’s definitely creepy! Hauntings at Lake Lanier || The Ghosts of Oscarville || Ghosteas || Paranormal Podcast
Deep beneath the surface of the water, at the bottom of this manmade lake, sits the ruins of a once prosperous town. It’s frozen in time, bridges, roads, and even some buildings still in the same place they were 70 years ago when the river valley was flooded. Lake Lanier, today, is a vacation destination to millions who live in the Southern US, but that land beneath the water holds a history of violence, racism, death, and destruction that the water simply masks. This land is said to be the source of a curse so dark, and so deadly, that even the best swimmers find themselves being pulled down to the depths, as if the spirits of those who suffered so greatly so many years ago are still there to enact their revenge. So today we will be talking about the history of Lake Lanier and the hauntings that make it such a hot spot for paranormal enthusiasts. This episode is history heavy with very dark themes, so keep that in mind as we make our way through.
