Ghost voices

Here is a very weird one, at least IMHO. I'm investigating our local theater (under renovation). It is well lit, and no other investigators were near me as I simply sit by the stage edge recording. I had an ovilus app running, which normally gets me NOTHING. I also was chatting with whoever might be present which is my usual method. Just trying to start a conversation, that's all. I express my appreciation for some kind of previous voice that had come through. Then I CLEARLY hear this one through my speaker. Someone says a very clear response to my "appreciation". Apparently, I can't "appreciate" what is going on according to this invisible person. Very odd spirit box thing. What sounds like static seemed a little odd to me, so I slowed it down. What came out was a robotic type voice that seems to say "who are we? men and...women". USE FULL EAR COVERING HEADPHONES TO LISTEN.

Investigation in a local museum, Studebaker display. Yeah, it's a gorgeous old car that is said to have been driven across country on Route 66 back in the road's heyday. But somebody said no it didn't and later that they drove it in an old pickup! LOL!

Katie is conducting a spirit box session over an amplifier. Several other investigators are present. Hearing a spirit box voice say "bitch", she responded automatically with "bite me!" A few seconds later the spiritbox voice responds with a loud "F* you!". Katie then asked if the voice was the reported ghost named "Simon" and you can hear a soft response that sounds like "yes it is". Simon is usually a friendly sort but most of the investigators were female. Simon has a problem with women.

Sitting on a step in a vintage shop. What feels like a cold thumb is pressed against the base of my spine (in other words, above my butt crack). I jump and complain about it. An EVP voice is later heard on the recording, saying what sounds like "fanny". For those who don't know, "fanny" is a colloquial term for rear end! Darned ghost!

We are in the local museum (an old house), I'm thanking a long ago teacher for her service to this tiny former silver mining town. Response is a soft "thank you". The banging around was not noticed while we were there. The old two cell jail (pictured) was cabled shut last time we were there. Entry is not allowed as the little structure is very fragile. Chloride is a trip back in time and worth a visit.

Chloride is a tiny town in Arizona, considered the oldest still inhabited (former) mining town in the state. Among interesting sites is the old two cell jail (now locked up) shown in the photo and the fake ghost town of "Cyanide Spring" This recording was made in the historical society house in the fake ghost town.

Katie and another investigator chatting during initial walkthru. Katie recorded this voice. "Burning Nazianz". The town of St. Nazianz (WI) has a history of fires.

I'm recording while sitting on a top step, 4th floor of old dorm. Feeling surrounded, I really wanted to leave that area but had to wait for two other investigators to finish their investigating. While waiting, I recorded this voice.

I have sung "Ave Maria" in the old chapel of this closedd seminary. Upon playback of the recording I made, a voice appears. This version also includes a reversal of the voice.

Private residence. The spirit box is running but a voice seems to come in separate from it. I can't quite understand it. THe first version is the original long clip, the second is the part where the voice appears, and the third version is slowed down and filtered.

The Elks Lodge is no longer used by the Elks but is often rented out for community events. Could someone have been cooking and perhaps dropped a hot spatula? Or what on earth could prompt this voice?

To be clear, this was not my Ovilus, but you hear my voice interacting with an Ovilus voice. I'm not sure what kind of Ovilus it was, but it sounded very human like. "Oh shit. Can you?"

Haunted Lee Williams high school, theater area. This school is still in use and has been featured in both newspapers and on a famous ghost hunting TV show for it's haunting. The hauntings may come from the old cemetery that used to be where the football field is now. Approximately 80-100 bodies remain there in a mass grave, the rest having been removed. App used was Necrophonic. This app can be very interesting but I still don't quite trust it. However, this voice and the one behind it were new from it.

Sitting outside of the building, waiting for investigators to come out. I had my recorder going as usual. Playback revealed "hogs to chase" or sometihing that sounds very much like it. This doesn't seem appropriate for a former elementary school, but it is built at the base of a scrubby hill. There may have been a farm or ranch behind it at one time. Who knows?

Recording in my home (always a bad idea). I ask my PSB7 Spirit Box what state we are in. First voice sounds like "Lansing", the next voice "Michi..." (it falls off, but I assume Michigan). The softer third voice is not clear.

Sitting on the top step, 4th floor of a closed dormitory in a closed seminary. Two investigators are down the hall but not near me. Recorded whisper says "not happy if there's anything around you." They were right. This was one of the few times I have felt surrounded on an investigation. I wanted to get OUT of there!

Spirit box session. Katie asks if the group should bring some "pretty girls". Response sounds like "get a brain" and a different voice "built she was". The tannery is a "pay to play" place, if it's still doing ghost hunts.

Spirit box sounds like "book priest" followed up by garbled voices, finally "sportsmans" or "sportsman". The last word may refer to an old tavern in town called Sportsman's. The building may have been used in early times as an ad hoc courtroom of some kind.

Spirit box session: "Party...in...cemetery" plus other voices I don't quite understand. If there was a party going on, apparently I wasn't invited. The nearest cemetery WAS the old Pioneer Cemetery which has been covered over by Lee Williams High School. Most bodies were removed to a new cemetery in the late 40s, but around 80-100 remain in a mass grave under the football field. Occasionally, human bones can be found by students.

An audible voice in this first floor residence. Female voice "A quick bite". This is one of two references to biting captured in this house. See "I might bite you" track here in Soundcloud.

Two story house turned into upper and lower flats. The lower flat was investigated. ("Watch your neck. I..."? whispered) I might bite you". There were two references to biting in this investigation. The other was an audible voice.

There are workers boarding up windows to keep out the weather and discourage vandals. My camera malfunctions (never revived!) and I'm fussing with it, my recorder still going. The first voice: "I love you", second voice "Have a porch kitty", third voice "Oh Shit". The camera is unfixable. I shout "enough thank you" to the spirits that apparently attacked it. There is more to this. "Have a porch kitty" completly surprised me. We lived fifty miles away. A few weeks earlier, we had vound a stray cat on our back desk. We took her in, named her Portia (for being on the porch) and our nickname for her was "Porch Kitty"! How did the spirit know this???

Investigating the Grand Opera House in Oshkosh Wisconsin. A beautifully restored theater with a haunted reputation. As we are preparing to leave the balcony, I recorded and EVP of a young boy asks "could you take us too?"

Local beauty salon. "Find my head". Very soft at first, repeats twice amplified.

Necrophonic app: "Would you drop this?" , "Jeanie". For the record, I didn't drop it. "Jeanie" may be a reference to Jenny Bauters, whose lover Clem Leigh murdered her. (Referred to on Ghost Adventures). Clem may be the man in the bowler hat.

I was a "ghost" character in a local haunted house at the Powerhouse in Kingman AZ. My station was an enclosed office inside the Route 66 Museum there. During my down time (non-scaring people time), I recorded many odd things. Another actor comes in to ask about a bottle of water. There is some whispering and a clear voice whispers "I'm bossman". There was no tour going through the museum at the time. The creepy music is for the ghost tour event.

I was a "ghost" character in a local haunted house at the Powerhouse in Kingman AZ. My station was an enclosed office inside the Route 66 Museum there. During my down time (non-scaring people time), I recorded many odd things. This one is a woman's voice asking "What are you doing here?" in a very stern way. A man answers "painting" and you can hear the clanking of paint cans. No one was painting anything. The building was given over to the ghost tour and no work was going on.

Investigating a first floor apartment in an old two story home. Recorded what sounds like an old man telling his dog to do a trick. The dog even barks in the middle of his words.

A recorder left in an empty house recorded this while we were out for a dinner break. The client was watching the house outside at the time and no one came or went. Listen closely--a very squeaky door is heard and slammed followed by two voices. There was no door like that in the house, though historically there may have been many years ago.

An unknown voice turns up on this recording as I am cautioning people not to trip on our tripod. The only other living voice is at the end, my husband responding to my request for the time. Who is the man talking about "the boss"? He was not there.

Investigating the site of a double murder. The killer(s) have never been found. The victims were two gay men running a business together. The killer(s) came in after hours and shot them both. Nothing was taken so it was investigated as a hate crime and has not been solved. There are other recordings from that night that indicate the terror and a killer (possibly more than one) is still at large, roaming free.

Necrophonic app in a closed elementary school a thousand miles from where I grew up.. First voice "Katherine" Second voice: "Kath-EE" (Kathy) Third voice "Kathy" These are all referring to me. The first voice saying Katherine reminds me of my recently deceased sister, who called me that all the time because she thought I should have been named Katherine instead of Kathleen. The second voice reminds me of my deceased mom's voice, and the third voice is the same one, only the pitch lowered. Then it became my deceased brother's voice, which is very odd.

I am an effects actor in a Halloween ghost tour. My location was in an enclosed office with frosted windows that I would make shadows and press my face onto, maniacal laughing, etc. On down time, I would record for possible voices. This one came through on my final night. I was alone in the office, no tours were nearby nor were any other actors close enough to be heard through the walls and so close to the recorder. So who are these people?

This is an app called Necrophonic. The recording is of two investigators (the owner and me) asking the spirits to sing.
