God and Government Podcast

With the ever changing political landscape that we are living on, the God and Government team discusses the Iran War, progressive Christian politicians, and election integrity issues in this episode. While the Bible speaks to these issues in many more, the guys could only reach a question—why?— instead of reaching a conclusion about these matters. This episode will give listeners food for thought as Scripture references include Ecclesiastes 3:8, 2 Samuel 11:1, and Leviticus 19:35-36.

Season 7 of the “God and Government” podcast begins with our discussion of the very controversial current events the have engulfed the nation at the beginning of 2026. The team will analyze the alleged fraud and immigration enforcement crises in Minnesota first and foremost, and will also address hot button issues related to Venezuela, Islam, communism, and thoughts on what will happen in 2026 as the year progresses. For our Wingman Marc Richardson’s birthday, the G&G team is back with a new episode in which we dissect some serious issues with a lighthearted spirit. The team will be discussing the dependency culture that was exposed during the government shutdown, the concern about civil strife as the communist movement in America picks up steam, the need for the country to get back to its Christian roots, and the moral decay in the church. The famous “Sunmer of Love” took place in 1967. This was an era in American history when there was a significant amount of cultural upheaval with the hippie movement being in full swing, the Vietnam war raging, and the battle for civil rights still being waged on America streets. The next year, 1968, saw even more madness with the tragic assassinations of Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy, and the withdrawal of the sitting president Lyndon Johnson from the presidential election. In 2024, we are facing “The Summer of Push Comes to Shove.” In this year, we have seen the president Joe Biden be completely exposed for his failing health at the presidential debate; an assassination attempt against former president, Donald Trump; Biden’s withdrawal from the race and the elevation of vice president Kamala Harris to the place of presumptive nominee with the Democratic Party; and major sociocultural craziness being displayed at the Paris Olympics. The “God and Government” team discusses these issues from a biblical perspective, referring to several passages of Scripture, including sections of 1 Timothy 2, 1 Peter 2, Romans 1, and Deuteronomy 22.

For Americans, the month of June has two holidays in it—Flag Day and Juneteenth—both of which are based on love of country and love of freedom. But in our post-Christian culture, those two days take a back burner to the entire month of June which has been commandeered by the popular culture for the purpose of “pride,” specifically the celebration of sexuality that stands in opposition to biblical ethics. In this episode, the God and Government team takes a public stand in favor of the Bible’s teachings on what is proper sexual expression and examines the scriptural basis for opposing the sins of pride and sodomy. Filmmakers would aim to uplift and encourage their audiences, and they would create stories that would reinforce family values, Americanism, and the blessings of freedom. Yet with time Hollywood has lost its zeal for wholesomeness and has descended into a place where only radical and decadent views are accepted and Christian values are shunned. In America, we have the blessing of the First Amendment to the Constitution which prohibits Congress from enacting any law that prohibits freedom of speech.  This means that from our nation's inception it has been an American value, practiced albeit imperfectly in many seasons of our nation's history, and it has been through free speech that evils like slavery, segregation, oppression of women, and mistreatment of the underprivileged have been exposed, refuted, and defeated.  Now, however, the phenomenon of the "cancel culture" has emerged to challenge the foundation of free speech, as those who do not wish to debate ideas openly seek to silence their opponents through various methods of formal censorship, deplatforming, social shaming, and outright hostility.  We at "God and Government" stand firmly against the cancel culture and in favor of free speech. Juneteenth celebrates the announcement of the end of slavery in 1865. As we all know, the Republicans were the party of emancipation, and therefore their party completes the work of the American Revolution by finally freeing black Americans from bondage. Why is it then that today’s GOP could not bring itself to hep Donald Trump push Juneteenth as a federal holiday as part of his Platinum Plan? Why did several Republicans in the House vote against this measure, thereby allowing the Democrats to steal the holiday from its rightful political heir?
