    Meditation on Trees II

"Meditation on Trees II" Written: March 11th, Wed, 2026 By: Matthew KrogstadI saw a tree in winter stand, bare branches stretched across the land.No leaf to clothe its withered frame,no fruit to glorify God's name.My heart resembling this root, for once was I, devoid of fruit.Like a tree both cold and dry, beneath a dark and silent sky.No living root beneath the sod,no rising praise that reached to God.Though form of life might still appear,no vital sap was bringing cheer. No hand of mine could make it live,no striving breath new life could give.Till sovereign wind from heaven above, awoke my heart to life and love. Then grace, like hidden sap, did rise, and faith looked up with newborn eyes. The barren limbs began to see,the buds of hope upon the tree.O Gardener wise, thy work fulfill, subdue my heart to do thy will.Just as the once dead barren tree, was made to bear living fruit for Thee.Thank you for listening! Meditation on Trees

Meditation on TreesWritten: Monday, February 13th, 2023By: Matthew KrogstadBy testing Love, the arrow has been shot.Revealing a sin, uncovering its spot.Divine eyes has seen great harm,in a comfort that glows with elegant charm.Heavens bow upon my flesh will crush, all its pleasures, joys, and lush. The Infinite drawing the finite, making the world dim, and Heaven so bright. Will you lack peace, O my soul? When grace is telling you to let go, of that which many lives has stole? This arrow's intention is not to cause pain, but uncover the sin that which makes lame. Are you to be discontent of such love?Despond as it's lent from caring hands above?Rejoice, O my soul, and entrust all to God.Repent and with joy embrace the helping rod.If you have questions email us at [email protected].

    A Slave to Thee Forever

"A Slave to Thee Forever!"Written: 01/26/2026By: Matthew KrogstadI did not beg for silver,I spit at you in grief.Bent beneath a cruel yoke, bound in unbelief.I did not bargain for relief, stood with nothing in my hands.Under the promise of a thief, whose path is darkened lands.Sin my master, stealing years,my wages death would keep.Serving what never loved me back,oh, these chains drag deep. Then a clear voice came,"Bought with sinless blood."Still I spat at this claim, seeing its gain as loss.Fleeing love that holds my breath, spurned His call, despised His pain.Yet still the scars held fast my debt, when I would not remain.Grace moved first, then I learned, what You had truly done. That I was loved before I turned, and kept before I'd come.A simple plea and nothing more, all else I gladly sever.Hear my request, O Risen Lord,A slave to Thee forever! Please reach out to us at [email protected].

The Falling of the First Snow

The Falling of the First SnowWritten: December 21st, Sunday, 2025By: Matthew KrogstadThe falling of the first snow, when once I could not see.Sent in white shimmering glow, echoing His purity. The ringing of winter's bell, when once I could not hear. The story that it longs to tell,Immanuel drawn near. The choir's song, hear it playing loud, when once I could not savor.Words of He before whom angels bow, this child born, Christ the Savior.Meetings of glee on every street, when once I could not believe. There for me, a table and seat, where my soul is gently relieved.I heard the chimes this winter's eve, their silver peals now bright and merry. This heart of mine can now conceive, the King of Life the trough did carry.I see the season with eyes anew, winter's snow now quiets my mind. Its blanket whispers what is true, came, the Redeemer of mankind.Thank you for listening! I Wish You Could've Known…

"I Wish You Could've Known"Written: Saturday, December 6th, 2025By: Matthew Krogstad23 years of life before she took my name; When once she was your sweet little Cara Jane.I've seen the pictures of you holding that smiley girl;now it's the very smile that takes my heart each day. Yes, she's my whole world.I wish you could've known her joy in the smallest of delights;Going for a walk or waiting for that plane to take flight...Sitting on the couch close at night...Homemade decaf makes her grin so bright.I wish you could've heard her talk about her day...What she learned in the Word while she reads and prays...How in some things she may have lost her way...Grieving her past in living astray...But in thinking on Truth her countenance dresses in array...While shopping how she saw the most gorgeous of bouquets...Yes, you would've held on to every word she would say...I wish you could've seen her mature as a wife...Not knowing how to cook at first now a master with a knife...Nurturing her nest without a hint of strife...Making it rife with laughter and dance...The one who steals me with a single glance...I wish she could've known you as her first love...An example of tender care; reflecting the Father above...I wish she could've known the refuge only a dad could be...Protection from the monsters and unknown creatures at sea...To know this girl is to be full of glee...And I wish I could tell you she's everything to me...I wish you could've known my pursuit for her hand...Wanting to see her walk down the aisle while next to her you stand...With each step forward getting closer to, "I do."I wish you felt the pain of letting your girl go before all those in the pew...The exchange of our vows with the smiles on our face...I wish she could've known that day, your blessing and embrace...I wish you could've known her as a mother...Hearing your encouragements would have lifted her up like no other...Seeing her be a mom has been like a jewel I just discovered...To our daughter she is the best of lovers...In all these words are mixed sadness and bliss...For there is One who in all her days has never missed...No, not a single moment in watching her blossom and shine...For before I ever came along, this One told her;"I am yours, and you are mine."Thank you for listening! The Permanent Resident

On today’s special episode, Matthew delivers his first-ever sermon at his local church. The sermon focuses on Malachi 3:1-1, highlighting Jesus Christ as the divine Refiner who patiently purifies His people through trials, much like a goldsmith refines metal through fire, skimming impurities, and repeating the process until perfection is achieved. At the end of the sermon, a poem is shared:“A Love That Unveiled My Eyes”Written: November 28th, Monday, 2022By: Matthew KrogstadA love that unveiled my eyes,I have only heard, but now I see;The work that told my soul to arise,Jesus Christ taking on Calvary’s Tree.Upon a people a Light has dawned,Dwelling among us, in a land so dim;Come to restore the most joyful bond,That hast been severed due to all my sin.Unnoticed as He walked in purity,Unknown by all the eyes of man;Yet, tis the One who is our Surety,He accomplished the Father’s plan. The plan to clear a boundless offense,Sinless He lived for the sake of the vile;Oh, this depth of love is so immense,The Holy God and sinners reconciled!See Him walk the road to wrath,The Father’s fury stowed for the guilty; In the crowd I mock and laugh,While Christ the Son is treated as filthy.Christ entered into the holy veil,as the Sacrifice and great High Priest;Wearing my sin, yes, taking its scale! That I may join the eternal feast.A love that unveiled my eyes,From the grave He rose and stands strong; In my place Thou hast lived and died,This shall forever be my song.Thank you for listening! "Pages Divine"Written: October 31st, Monday, 2022By: Matthew KrogstadInscribed within the Pages Divine, speaks of One who was before all time.O, the perfect word of grace,is the place where Christ, I'll chase.See this book take its mighty stand, whilst every line has greatly fanned.A flame that burned the hearts of man,a deep so vast no mind can scan.Follow its path to the endless fount, the glory Moses sought on the mount.Uncovered inside all its pages, revealed is Him who paid sins wages,Led by the Holy Spirit I'll see,all about Jesus who is the Key.Unlocking the most valuable treasure,a height of beauty no one can measure.

    Psalm 10

A poem inspired by Psalm 10 in light of the assassination of Charlie Kirk.Written: September 11th, Thursday, 2025Song: Psalm 10 by Poor Bishop Hooper (used with permission)Why stand, O Lord, afar off?Troubles rise and help is hidden.Scheming, they laugh and scoff,in arrogance the poor are stricken.Boasting in their hearts desire, for gain they wallow in greed.Snare them by what they conspire, for cursing and hate is all they breed.Daring in their sinful courses, renouncing Your name in pride.Deceit and abuse unite forces,Your decree gone from their eyes.Lurking, their eyes set to pounce,in hiding they murder the pure.'There is no God,' they announce, thus, the dark oppressions endure.Hiding deep in shadowed ways, mocking the cries of the weak.No secret stays beyond His gaze, the Lord observes all they seek.Arise, O Lord; lift up Your arm,for they say You do not see.Praising over death and harm, hear the afflicted's plea.O God our refuge, send forth care,we long for justice to soon release.Strengthen hearts in deep despair,by Your cross, bring the vile to peace.

Why Did The Land Fall Dark?

"Why Did The Land Fall Dark?"Written: August 8th, Friday, 2025By: Matthew KrogstadWhy did the land fall dark, when the beaten man was hung?No light; nay, not one spark, while praises of hell were sung. Why did the land grow dire? This man hanging midst the two.Reviled, yes, cast into the mire.Has this man received his due?Why did the land fill with dread? This man derided and mocked.Marred his body; frail it bled.Wagging their heads as they walked. Why did the darkness shadow the land, while 'forsaken' he cried loud? Will Elijah help by command? Then, in final breath, he bowed. Why in death did this darkness lift?'Truly, this man is the son of God.'The veil was rent; the earth did shift.Looking from afar, in silence awed. Why was the darkness so grim?No terror has ever been greater.Crushed, this man, with all my sin.It was I who killed my Creator.

The title of this one is, 'Before the Alarm Clock,' which captures the reality of facing spiritual attacks even before the day begins. I pray it can serve as a reminder of the real battle that goes beyond the physical, and the response that can silence the treacherous voices. It Is Well

A prayer written in a season of despairWritten: January 5th, Thursday, 2023By: Matthew KrogstadWhether I am in a dry land may I say, it is well for Christ is my river. If I be in great need for money may I say, it is well for Christ is my portion. If it be pain or sickness that overcomes my body may I say, it is well for Christ is my strength and my salvation. If I were to have the world against me all at once may I say, it is well for Christ the King is my rear guard. If it be the last moments when death will have its victory over my flesh may I look up and say, it is well for Christ awaits to welcome me home. If I am to remain on this earth and doubts pursue me on every side may I say, it is well for Christ is my surety. If the winds of trials try to take me off course may I say, it is well for Christ my wisdom keeps me level. If my heart grows dim and burns like a faint ember may I say, it is well for Christ my light can set it ablaze once more.As I wake up each day not knowing what my steps entail may I say, it is well for Christ is my wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption.Oh blessed loss you are most welcome at anytime for each visit of yours is a gain of mine. I have lost nothing of what I have in Christ.

    Psalm 103

A poem inspired by Psalm 103Written: April 12th, Tuesday, 2022By: Matthew KrogstadAs high as the heavens reach,so great is Your steadfast love. With Your word, O Spirit, teach, that I may fear the Lord above. My soul shall bless Your name! All that is within, my life`s aim.The chords of my soul flow in motion,to You, whose mercy outweighs the ocean. As far as the east is from the west,my sin and guilt are no more. With my lips I will continually bless, He who took the veil and tore. All my iniquities forgiven in Him,satisfied with good all my days.Dealt not according to my sin,its memory no longer shall stay.Your compassion is on those who are dust, our days are like the fleeting grass.Fearing You in all our ways, we must.As You lead us to glory at last!Clothed with strength as we keep Your word,Your righteousness we now attain. Our vision is clear, no longer blurred, the world behind; heaven our gain!O bless the Lord, bless His name!Shout, O soul; your Redeemer came! His anger on you withheld so free, such infinite love, how can it be?

    A Simple Way to Pray

"A Simple Way to Pray"Written: October 27th. Thursday, 2022By: Matthew KrogstadAbove the earth exalted high, tis the blessed place You reside.Hallowed be thy name, O Lord, deep within my heart adored.Let thy Kingdom hasten this day, drawing those who have gone astray.Your will be done on earth below, making us clean, yes, white as snow.Resting in You each day that is given.Nourish my soul; refine my vision. Our daily bread comes forth from You.You are true Life, yes, and true Food!As You have forgiven so shall we too,Your mercies each morning, ready and new.You the Judge have stayed Your hand, since Christ fulfilled the laws demand.Away from temptation lead us, O God,keeping our eyes off the way which is broad.Save us from affliction, preserve our souls, and with our lips Your name we extol!Your kingdom on high; O City to come, the light of our eyes; the Eternal Son.All power, all glory, forever ascribed. To You, Our Refuge, who shall soon arrive.

The Robe of Him Who Filled The Temple

"The Robe of Him Who Filled The Temple"Written: November 28th, Monday, 2022By: Matthew KrogstadMusic: "There is a Fountain" recorded by Capitol Hill Baptist The robe of Him who filled the temple, the heavenly host of myriads around.Standing in fear Isaiah trembled,Thou art the One who to us, came down. Into this corrupt habitation, thy Son of the Most High.Off His throne to dwell in creation, thy Infinite drawn nigh. Unrighteousness clouded this world,`twas the state from days of old.In Him the promises unfurled, this the prophets hath foretold. The Eternal God whose name is Holy, given to us in human likeness.Behold, a King, yet gentle and lowly, the fulfillment of all righteousness. Amongst the darkness shines a star, guiding our eyes to behold this child.Coming down from a land so far,The Shepherd of a people exiled. Brought low in the manager Immanuel lay, swaddled in cloth; cobwebs His curtain.Brought lower in death; the cross His array. His mission to make salvation certain.

    Sovereign Bullet

"Sovereign Bullet"Written: October 14th, Monday, 2024By: Matthew Krogstad My heart has known a cruel sharp thorn, its severity has left my eyes to mourn.Yet beyond the cloud, light breaks through,"I never make mistakes; your good is in my view." Painful providence has caused me to learn, its purpose in driving my heart to yearn.Yes, to treasure Him more deeply in every trial,in Sovereign hands my soul can rest and smile. No tear is shed outside Thy plan,Thy grace sustains where sorrow began.Through trials that cause my heart to weep,Thy steadfast love my soul will keep. My joy runs deeper than tragedy, the winds that steer me gallantly.Thou unseen, yet mercifully clear,O Sovereign Lord, deliver from fear. An aimless world if there were no God,a mire of suffering to hopelessly plod. But the Lord reigneth; let earth be glad,O my soul, no longer be sad. In worldly thought pain remains the core, and joy vanishes like sand on the shore.O, yet see the Christian; this truth reversed, joy stands firm, though pain be dispersed. O Sovereign Lord draw back the veil, for the entire cause of Christ shall prevail. Therefore, help us trust the path of mystery, whereby we are led in joyous victory.

    Message from the Womb

"Message from the Womb"Written: May 3rd, Thursday, 2022By: Matthew KrogstadMusic: "Psalm 127" Poor Bishop Hooper (used with permission)Commentary: Jeff Durbin, R.C. Sproul, John Piper, John MacArthur, Voddie Baucham Perfectly crafted and resting as impotent,Cradled in the hands of Him who is omnipotent. The inward parts You have made, Knitted together while covered by Your Shade. Though my eyes have not opened,I feel the comfort of Him who is arrayed in glory unseen, Yet I am not hidden, but fully seen. The anatomy of my body, from my ribs to my spleen, Designed and watched over from now into my teens… And up to my final breath. Intricately woven, being created in the depths, Known before I was formed—yes, before life and death. The number of my days written in Your book, Long before I ever let out my first cry, While I open my eyes and look at this life You have provided. Lord, redeem those who are misguided. This they know: I am a human from conception.Stop their hands from murdering me and change their hearts to murder this deception.Separate from my mother, yet I hear her say, "It’s my choice,"And they conspire against life without considering my voice. They make excuses, saying I’m a clump of cells, Then rip me apart while their lusts drown out my yells. Hear, oh, hear my message from the womb, With my perfect heartbeat and personality that is ready to bloom.Stop allowing my home of creation to be the place of my tomb.

    The Great Physician

"The Great Physician"Written: June 26th, Sunday, 2022By: Matthew KrogstadSermon by Lee Dodd: https://www.sermonaudio.com/sermons/626221821153768 Hear Jesus call the worthless ones, curing the sick and not the righteous.Healing the vile from enemies to sons, has there ever been a grace like this? Run to Jesus those who see their need, don't think your sins are too great. For this is His mission indeed, welcoming you into Heaven's gate. The Lord came down with love and zeal, marking this awesome work as complete. On Christ Jesus, God has set His seal.Come and taste that which is forever sweet. Leaving heaven and the bliss therein, lowered into the dregs of the earth.Hanging on the cross, bearing all my sin, that I may be granted the new birth. This is Jesus, the Great Physician, sinner, you are never too far gone.Run to Him in your sick condition, and all of heaven will rejoice in song! Thirsty ones come and be thirsty no more, for the Son of God is the Remedy.Oh, if you hear His voice do not ignore!Come and be freed from all enmity. https://youtu.be/UvOD391dXLM?si=K9B20sqrEALxWduc

    Psalm 59

A poem based on Psalm 59Written: April 12th, Wednesday, 2023By: Matthew KrogstadMusic (used with permission): "Psalm 59" By: Poor Bishop Hooper Deliver me from evil, O God of hosts,Your steadfast love is all my boast.Lying in wait for me are fierce men, awake and let Your punishment extend. Morning and evening they stir up strife,O Lord, thou are the Shield of my life!Out of their mouths they bellow deceit, knowing Your steadfast love, I humbly entreat. O my Strength, I will watch for You,make their howling flee like the morning dew.And in triumph let me stand and survey, the vengeance of Him who rules each day. But I will sing aloud in all my distress, for You, my God, have been my fortress. In my waiting I will sing praises and adorn, the God of Israel who by His word has sworn. O my Strength, in Your love meet with me,for Thine mercy outshines all of the sea.Though they prowl to receive their fill, yet, my heart each morn will trust Thee still.

    The Wells of Salvation

"The Wells of Salvation"Written: May 15th, Tuesday, 2024By: Matthew KrogstadInspired by the book, "The Wells of Salvation Opened"By: William Spurstowe Come hither to the land; free of charge, let not your heart this world regard. The wells of salvation thrown wide,in them a worth that will not die. In its depth find a sanction secure, sealed by the Blood which shall endure.Confirmed by the Spirit of truth so pure, received by the hand of faith so sure. Its ceaseless flow to our heart purifies,in hope with faith pursuing our prize.Communion with God our chief end goal, gained by His likeness worked here below. Ushered with Mercy's hand in wise arrange, its tapestry's perfect design in sunshine or rain. His wisdom you ought wholly to resign, whereby a table soon is set to dine. Unburden yourself from this worldly strain, for heavens riches are yours to obtain.Sworn by God our Father who cannot lie,His wells of salvation that never dry. Ah, the land of promises unveiled, opened by my Savior as He was nailed.Oh, blessed cross! Sealing my guarantee, the welcome to salvations infinite sea.

    Come All You Saints!

"Come All You Saints!"Written: Friday, June 10th, 2022By: Matthew Krogstad Come all you saints and love the Lord, take hold of the great command to gather.Neglecting to meet, your soul cannot afford, freely receive the blessings He longs to lather. Sing, sing, sing all you saints!Join in one voice to praise the King, enter by the Blood with no restraints!Rejoice over this never-ending spring. Dear saint, don't forsake the assembly! For there your eternal family unites,His hand is shown as we're received gently. His love poured out by His servants of light. Are you burdened, and strangled by despair?Oh, there is a place designated for you.Established by our Shepherd with great care, who longs to refresh your soul anew. Oh, this most desired means of grace, where God's great mystery is told.Holy Writ causes all troubles to efface, more precious than the finest gold. Don't neglect this gift, rather embrace! For that sweet and great day is drawing near,O, Christian soldiers find rest during this race,in the assembly, until our Lord appears.

Lift Your Heart to the Lord in Prayer!

"Lift Your Heart to the Lord in Prayer!"Written: October 2nd, Monday, 2023By: Matthew KrogstadMusic (used with permission): "O That I Had a Thousand Voices" By: Poor Bishop HooperLift your heart to the Lord in prayer!Oh, this is my joy, my song, my praise!Untold friendship is mine to share, adoring my God through endless days.Lift your heart to the Lord in prayer!See the present work of the blessed Three, set forth in beauty, yes, pure and fair.Words carried by The Blood on bended knee.Lift your heart the Lord in prayer!Coming to sit at the Father's feet, and yes, your Christ will meet you there,to present your words before The Seat.Lift your heart to the Lord in prayer!Words are faint and weakened by grief,The Spirit stirs a brighter flare, with unfailing love as He brings relief.Lift your heart to the Lord in prayer! The hand of the soul led on by Thee.Heard with ears of love and care,by our Great God; Blessed Trinity.Lift your heart to the Lord in prayer!O Love, before creations first breath, beyond our words which fall in err.Its fulness I shall meet in death.

Have You Taken Much Thought of the Cross?

"Have You Taken Much Thought of the Cross?"Written: September 1st, Thursday, 2022By: Matthew KrogstadSong: "Be Still My Soul" By: Poor Bishop Hooper (used with permission) Have you taken much thought of the cross?where justice and mercy perfectly link. The Son who gave His life as the cost, taking the Cup of God's wrath as His drink. It is at the cross where a transaction is made, for sinners who had an eternal debt unpaid. So, look with your eyes at Him who has laid, down His own life and then gloriously raised. Have you come to know the One on the cross? His perfect life and death is the reason we live,a righteousness unearned was freely tossed, upon sinners who God did not need to forgive. Real satisfaction was made on the cross, where God's justice was appeased. The Righteous One offered up for the lost, the work of our redemption achieved! Did you not know the truth runs deep?Way beyond the physical agony observed. The Eternal Shepherd of the sheep, taking upon Himself all we deserved. The Just God declaring the guilty right, this is pronounced by the resurrection! The heavenly courtroom keeping Him in sight,no longer am I seen; only His perfection.

    Foreign Steps

"Foreign Steps"Written: September 11th, Sunday, 2022By: Matthew Krogstad Are your steps on this fallen sphere, separate from the ones you see?The King who reigns shall be your Fear,as He is, so shall you be. Do you fight this rotting flesh, are you spent by its lifeless state?Knowing that it only brings death, leading you down that cursed fate. Foreign steps on this wasted ground, walking in tune with Heaven`s scent. In this dark world where sin abounds, does it cause your heart to lament? Are you one where Christ resides?Deep within your heart to dwell? If the Lord in you abides, tis the fruit that to us tell. Christian, yours is not a life of ease,do your joys in comfort lie?A life that of this world to please, puts your soul in paths to die. Take up the Armor and be on guard, our time we cannot waste. This journey shall be narrow and hard, yet sweet will be its taste. The pleasure of sin is quick to fade, find rest in the deep well-spring.Jesus the Lord will come to your aid,and in victory you shall sing.

Under the Shadow of the Cross

"Under the Shadow of the Cross"Written: Thursday, September 29th, 2022By: Matthew KrogstadMusic (used with permission): "Come, ye sinners, poor and needy" By: Poor Bishop Hooper Under the shadow of the cross,I`ll leave all possessions behind. Its covering has purged all my dross, tis the path of glory divine. Under the shadow of the cross,I carry its victorious pledge. In weakness I am brought across, with the Shepherd being my Hedge. Under the shadow of the cross,is where I desire to be.Counting all this world as loss, gaining Jesus, our Majesty. Under the shadow of the cross, with joy I carry my own.Ponder how the battle was fought, bearing the weight all alone. Under the shadow of the cross,is where my feet will tread.Surely we will bear many scoffs, yet remember who is our Head. Under the shadow of the cross,no other respite know.No more to think, I`ve count the cost,to Jesus, I must go! Under the shadow of the cross,oh, my forever hiding place.Releasing all my dirty cloths, and clothed in His bottomless grace!

"Take Courage, Saint!"Written: April 23rd, Sunday, 2023By: Matthew KrogstadMusic by: kingpinguin Today grants a vicious battle, one where victory has its end.Hear the flesh rage and babble, take Thy truth and firmly contend. Up in arms! Take ye courage, saint! The battle you fight yields a crown.Lo, the heart will tremble and faint, yet, there is grace that richly abounds. One step away from the grave,at the door is death and its sting. In His strength be alert and brave, for this door is entry to your King! Courage! Courage! Courage!Tis the shout of all His people, come what may world and flesh! For on His wings, we mount like eagles. Awake from sleep! Remember your lot, take courage, your fight is not alone!Oh, resting saint has your heart forgot?A few more days and then we`ll be Home. Take courage, saint, and fight well, death will come, yet you will rise!Sin and this world we shall surely expel, and Thy Glorious Throne before our eyes.

Children, Won't You Trust in Jesus?

"Children, Won't You Trust in Jesus?"Written: January 16th, Monday, 2023By: Matthew KrogstadSong: "je me souviens" By: Jordan Critz Children, won't you trust in Jesus?Look at the clouds, and the grass, beaming waters, clear as glass. He has made all. Children, pause as you step outside,Bids you to come, the Hand that hides;penned in every inch of the sky.He has made all. Speak to the earth; listen close,'midst the garden see the rose.An unspoken song composed,He has made all. Come in and enjoy the spices shown, paved with joy is the path ye shall roam. Each glance at His garden ye are not alone. He has made all. Angst has made Thy creation sigh,at His feet, children, rest and lie.Thrilled is the contemplating eye.He has made all. Children, won't you trust in Jesus?Trumpets of creation shout His praise. So wait, dear one, and with intent, gaze.He has made all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvgdx1D-sP8

A Love That Unveiled My Eyes

"A Love That Unveiled My Eyes"Written: November 28th, Monday, 2022By: Matthew KrogstadSong: "Light" By: Jordan Critz A love that unveiled my eyes,I have only heard, but now I see.The work the told my soul to arise,Jesus Christ taking on Calvary`s Tree. Upon a people a Light has dawned, dwelling among us, in a land so dim.Come to restore the most joyful bond, that hast been severed due to all my sin. Unnoticed as He walked in purity, unknown by all the eyes of man.Yet, tis the One who is our Surety,He accomplished the Father`s plan. The plan to clear a boundless offense, sinless He lived for the sake of the vile.Oh, this depth of love is so immense, the Holy God and sinners reconciled! See Him walk the road to wrath,The Father`s fury stowed for the guilty. In the crowd I mock and laugh, while Christ the Son is treated as filthy. Christ entered into the holy veil,as the Sacrifice and great High Priest.Wearing my sin, yes, taking its scale! That I may join the eternal feast. A love that unveiled my eyes, from the grave He rose and stands strong. In my place Thou hast lived and died, this shall forever be my song.

    Killing Sin

"Killing Sin"Written: August 2nd, Wednesday, 2023By: Matthew KrogstadSongs: "Fixation" By: Pendulum Theoryand "Erudite" By: Brique A Braq Oh, the sword in which I wield, rising to face sin`s battlefield.Staring down the flesh and its Captain, stand up, O man, and dress for action. I must die, yes, I must die!Turn and leave this world behind.Raging war is flesh and its passion, take Thy armor, O God, and fasten. Grab the Sword, cling tight its handle.Firmly stand! Keep bright your candle.Fan the flame! Your enemy will not tire, strong are his traps that sink low in the mire. With hands weary, your skin may decay,as sword in grip, sin`s danger you`ll slay.In earnest fight, your soul stands to defend,on death`s frontier, vigilant till the end. With Christ, we will stand strong and bold,His love within, our hope to hold!No more despair; He is on our side!We will conquer whatever betide. Raise your banner high, O valiant soul,in Christ`s love, we shall be made whole! With His light as our guide, our hearts ignite,in this fight for truth, press on in His might!

A Love That to Our Nature is Bound

"A Love That to Our Nature is Bound"Written: November 28th, Monday, 2022By: Matthew Krogstad / Song: "Eastern Sea" By: Jordan Critz A love that to our nature is bound, hatred for God; our ending sound. Our condemnation written in the skies, broken cisterns are where our love abides. Created to reflect the God of Light,lo, we run to dwell secure in the night.A wide separation from heavens land,in the sight of fierce wrath, doth all flesh stand. Roaming this world in all its design, kept from observing the Sublime.Days of cruelty everywhere we go,from all hearts doth wickedness flow. In the garden dwelt sweet serenity, between God and man was no enmity.Yet, the proud enticer brought forth the lie, causing the hearts flowing spring to dry. Man following the steps of pride, trust in Wisdom was pushed aside.Defying the Holy Magistrate,no hope for our judgment to abate. A love that to our nature is bound,no good within our hearts can be found.Wandering rebels against Yahweh,His indignation stored up each day.

    God Our Refuge

"God Our Refuge"Written: Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023By: Matthew Krogstad / Song: "Leaving Earth" By: Jordan CritzBook: "Kiss the Wave" By: Dave Furman Dark clouds fill my room,my place of sojourning a tomb.Held by warped schemes, yet, from heavens bosom His love streams. Removed was my nearest friend,I, an object of loathing to them.Deserted I have been,lo, not taken; this peace within. My frame weary from this chamber, sunshine is void in this pit of danger.Yet, His new mercies are my dawn,Thine blessed presence has not gone. What day is it? When will I know?Tis this the door to my Father`s abode?Take ye care of my wife and young, tell them of Whom I am among. This cup is set before thy servant, thy love begets His called to be fervent. Therefore, I drink with gladness,in pain, yet, not a slave to sadness. This prison is my banquet of bliss, these wave of affliction I can only kiss.Received from the hand of Divine Love,my lot to mold for thy world above. Signed in walls of preparation,ye, near the day of seeing my Salvation.Locked in by bars surrounding, yet, I hear the Hosts` victory call resounding!

    Salvation Belongs to the Lord

"Salvation Belongs to the Lord"Written: December 18th, Monday, 2023By: Matthew Krogstad / Song: "Eclipse" and "A Ripple in Time" By: Jordan Critz From the deep, my cry goes forth in distress, believing my sight shall soon be restored.Day and night this world gives me no rest,"Salvation belongs to the Lord!" I call your Name while waves confine,O God, your steadfast love I implore.Waves of distress sent to refine,"Salvation belongs to the Lord!" In darkness my life was ebbing away, yet, remembering You, my prayer soared. From Your temple You did not delay,"Salvation belongs to the Lord!" In Him, my soul finds redemption`s claim, the anthem of my heart, forevermore. The deep bars no longer hold my frame,"Salvation belongs to the Lord!" In the darkest night, where fears tarry,my hope in the steadfast Anchor was stored.Birthed was the song my soul will carry,"Salvation belongs to the Lord!" Amidst the tempest, Your works performed. In your likeness my soul is adorned, and in this truth my heart now warmed,"Salvation belongs to the Lord!"

    Praise in All Things

"Praise in All Things"Written: December 28th, Thursday, 2023By: Matthew Krogstad / Songs (used with permission): "Fairest Lord Jesus" By: Poor Bishop Hooper and "A Ripple in Time" By: Jordan Critz Under the cloud of night, a courage unfurls,a refuge found, supplying precious pearls.Though the dark is sown from night to dawn, from His word, a greater light doth spawn. Outside these bars are the noises of hell, lifted aloud is the wicked`s brutish yell.Nearer still the Voice that doth declare,"there`s victory even in the darkest lair." The storms rage, hearing sounds of doom, yet, within these walls there`s a sacred room.Decked with praise, hear the prison resound, its members see His glory and astound! In the face of torment, trials, and pain, our joy is the word of the Lord who reigns.Praise will arise, no matter what befalls,He is worthy, even amidst prison walls. Behind the bars of despair`s cruel cell, are mysteries of grace left for us to tell."I will never leave thee nor forsake,"this unwavering love is ours to partake. Within these walls lies a solace tune,a whisper telling: "you`ll be home soon."No telling what this darkness brings, yet, in it we learn to praise in all things.

A Voice is Heard Throughout the Land

"A Voice is Heard Throughout the Land"Written: December 15th, Friday, 2023By: Matthew Krogstad A voice is heard throughout the land,'Heaven to earth was brought!'Come see, ye, people! Take my hand, behold your Christ, whom the Father begot. Tis this the Joy for all the people?Glory to God! He`s here! He`s here!Rise up cold heart; go to the steeple!Hear the choir proclaim with cheer! My God and my Savior, come as a child!A righteousness hid now made manifest, this day God to man has smiled. From His bosom came Heaven`s Rest. The Bright Morning Star in faithfulness came, promised to us from long days ago.His hand of love toward us to claim,an eternal beacon of mercies overflow! This Gift profound, a timeless exchange, heaven and earth have met in this place.Hearts to ponder this Love so strange, the manger sings songs of celestial grace. In this hallowed moment, hearts unite,a loud symphony of grace and mirth.Bathed in the glow of Heaven`s Light,a serenade of Love`s miraculous birth. Joy is born, a heavenly decree, righteousness and peace come together.Worship, rejoice, and let every knee, bow in praises to Christ the King, forever.

Heaven and All Its Host Stood Silent

"Heaven and All Its Host Stood Silent"Written: May 9th, Tuesday, 2023By: Matthew Krogstad / Song: "lles" By: Jordan Critz Heaven and all its host stood silent, wonder of wonders before their sight.Mockers stand enraged and violent,As heavens Light is thrown into night. Heaven grew faint as He climbed the hill,The Father`s Delight approaching the curse. All the angels stand silent and still,As Judgment`s shadow is sent to immerse. Heaven`s host gazing down and mute, its Prince hanging below its view. All their eyes watching the Father impute, eternal wrath upon the Faithful and True. Heaven is stilled seeing the Silent Lamb, willfully embrace condemnations reward.Revealed that day was the Father`s plan,Christ, in the gap of Judgment`s sword. Heaven once silent now stands to rejoice, for the Fountain of Life died not in vain.Oh, all you redeemed lift up your voice,Christ is raised, thus we believe in His name!

Where, Oh, Where Are You Tears?

“Where, Oh, Where Are You Tears?”Written: November 29th, Wednesday, 2023By: Matthew Krogstad / Song: "Starry Night" By: Jordan Critz Wickedness looms high in my view,Where, oh, where are you tears?Shadows deepen, and troubles new,Where, oh, where are you tears? My soul bowed down in the cold of the morn,Where, oh, where are you tears?Full to the brim, infinite sorrows borne,Where, oh, where are you tears? My soul is bowed low for a weak love of Thee,Where, oh, where are you tears?Sorrows grow as my heart’s vanity I see,Where, oh, where are you tears? O, the bottomless depth of deceit,Where, oh, where are you tears?Where infinite sin and dry eyes meet,Where, oh, where are you tears? Words falter, as my guilt doth grow,Where, oh, where are you tears?A language strained, uttering woe!Where, oh, where are you tears? Yet, from the valley I see a hill,Whilst seeing flowers bud all around;Twas in this moment my heart went still,Beholding One there who sin hath crowned. Ah! The green valley of humiliation,Tis the place leading to The Tree;I felt one tear cry, “behold, Thy Salvation!”Another tear cry, “He died for me.” Though tears were found, I saw my fault,Relying on them for hope to impart;Sorrow and tears, no place to exalt,Only a strong hold on my Savior’s heart.
