Called to Courage-0503-26
This week, Pastor Don reflects on the story of Stephen in Acts 7—a witness of faith in the midst of difficulty, and a reminder of Christ’s presence even in the hardest moments. We’re invited to remember that we are not called to stand alone. Like living stones, we are being shaped and brought together into something stronger, held in Christ, our cornerstone. In a world that can feel uncertain, this message calls us back to unity, reconciliation, and a shared life of faith—reminding us that God is still building something among us, together.

Called Together-0426-26
This week’s message is “Called Together.” We reflect on what it means to be the church in a season of change. Drawing from Acts 2:42–47, we explore how the early community of believers devoted themselves to one another—sharing life, supporting each other, and trusting God to build something new among them. In a moment when it would have been easy to wonder what comes next, they chose commitment, connection, and faith. And we find ourselves asking that same question today. Church members Tricia, Natalie, and Eddie offer us a message that invites us to consider how God is still at work—weaving us together into a community shaped by grace, purpose, and shared life. Because the church has always been a people called together

Choose This Day: A Life of Serving Together-0419-26
In this week’s sermon, “Choose This Day: A Life of Serving Together,” we gather for Pastor Nancy’s final Sunday in the pulpit after many years of faithful ministry. Drawing from Joshua and 1 Corinthians, this message invites us to give thanks for all that has been planted and nurtured in this community through years of worship, service, and love. At the same time, we’re reminded that this moment is not only about looking back, but about stepping forward. As new life is welcomed and commitments are made, we’re invited to consider how God is calling each of us to continue the work—planting seeds of faith and trusting God for the growth.

What Are You Hiding From?-0412-26
In this week’s sermon, “What Are You Hiding From?” Pastor Nancy Reeves reflects on a moment from John 20, where the disciples gather behind locked doors, held in fear and uncertainty. It’s an honest picture of the instinct to protect ourselves when life feels overwhelming. But into that space, Jesus comes—not waiting for them to overcome their fear, but meeting them right where they are, and speaking words of peace. This story reminds us that we are not alone and that Christ still meets us in those hidden places. Today, we’re invited to step into the grace God offers.

The Good News is Alive in the World!-0405-26
“The Good News Is Alive in the World!” This Easter, Pastor Nancy Reeves reflects on the story at the heart of our faith—the empty tomb. It’s a moment that changed everything, not just for those first witnesses, but for all of us who continue to listen for hope. In a time when many are searching for hope, this message invites us to notice where Christ is still at work—bringing new life, joy, and transformation into the world. Celebrate the good news of Easter Sunday.

The Good News Inspires Us to Act-0329-26
Hosanna! In this week’s sermon, “The Good News Inspires Us to Act,” Pastor Nancy Reeves reflects on Palm Sunday, where ordinary people respond to Jesus with movement, courage, and praise. In Mark 11, faith is not quiet or distant—it rises up, lays things down, and cries out. As we enter Holy Week, we’re invited to do the same: to notice where God is at work and to respond with action. The good news is not just something we believe—it’s something we live.

Rooted in Justice, Mercy, and Faithfulness-0322-26
In this week’s sermon, “The Good News Is: Rooted in Justice, Mercy, and Faithfulness,” Pastor Nancy Reeves reflects on a powerful moment in John 8. A woman is brought before Jesus, surrounded by voices ready to judge and condemn. But instead of joining them, Jesus offers a challenge that turns everything upside down: “Let anyone among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone.” In a world that is often quick to judge and slow to show mercy, this story invites us to reconsider what justice and faithfulness truly look like. As we move closer to Holy Week, we’re reminded that Jesus calls us to hold together truth and compassion—to lay down our stones and walk in grace.

Protection and Care for the Vulnerable-0315-26
What if the true measure of a community … is how it treats the most vulnerable? In this week’s sermon, “The Good News Is: Protection and Care for the Vulnerable,” Pastor Nancy Reeves reflects on Matthew 19, when Jesus welcomes little children who had been pushed aside—an act that was far more radical in his time than it may seem to us today. Throughout Scripture, God calls us to remember the widow, the orphan, and the stranger—the people most easily overlooked. In this message, we’re invited to consider how the church can be a place where all people are welcomed, protected, and cared for. Today, we’re reminded that the good news calls us to compassion, justice, and love.

Together, the Impossible Is Possible-0308-26
Our world often tells us there is not enough. Not enough time, not enough resources, not enough hope. But in this week’s sermon, “The Good News Is: Together, the Impossible Is Possible,” Pastor Nancy Reeves invites us to listen to a different story. In the familiar account of Jesus feeding the five thousand, the disciples see five loaves, two fish, and a massive problem. But Jesus sees compassion, community, and the possibility of abundance. We’re reminded that when what we have is placed in Christ’s hands, scarcity gives way to grace.

Great Love for God and Neighbor-0301-26
In this week’s sermon, “The Good News Is Great Love for God and Neighbor,” Pastor Nancy Reeves reflects on a question at the heart of our faith: What does it truly mean to love God? In Luke 7 and Matthew 25, Jesus makes clear that loving God and loving our neighbor cannot be separated. Through a story of extravagant love and a call to care for “the least of these,” we’re invited to examine our own hearts. Are we loving with the boldness and generosity of Christ? Today, we are reminded that we are deeply loved and are sent out to embody that same great love in the world.

So Good it Catches Us By Surprise-0222-26
This Lent, we begin not in the wilderness, but at a wedding. In John 2, Jesus’ first sign is not a confrontation, but a celebration—turning water into fine wine so the joy can continue. Paired with the parable of the mustard seed, Pastor Nancy Reeves invites us to consider how God’s kingdom begins small, often quietly, but grows into something expansive and life-giving. As we step into Lent, we’re reminded that even when the wine runs out in our own lives, God’s goodness does not.

Identity Theft-0215-26
In this week’s sermon, “Identity Theft,” Pastor Nancy Reeves reflects on Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness. Just after being named Beloved at his baptism, Jesus hears another voice begin with, “If you are…”—a subtle attempt to redefine his identity. We’re reminded that temptation is not only about obvious missteps, but instead about not trusting what God has already said: that we belong to God and are deeply loved. As Lent is near, this message invites us to listen for God’s voice above the rest and to live from our truest identity—even in the wilderness. Welcome to our podcast.

Shakers and Spotlights-0208-26
This Sunday, we continue our journey through the Sermon on the Mount as Jesus tells his followers, “You are the salt of the earth. You are the light of the world.” In her sermon, “Shakers and Spotlights,” Pastor Nancy Reeves reflects on what it means for ordinary people to live as salt and light—making a real difference beyond the walls of the church. This week, we’re invited to ask together: where is God calling us to bring flavor, healing, and light in the world?

Living Right-Side Up in an Upside-Down World-0201-26
This week, Pastor Nancy Reeves invites us to reflect on Jesus’ Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount— words that can sound upside down in a world shaped by power and control. In Matthew 5, Jesus blesses the poor in spirit, those who mourn, the meek, the merciful, and the peacemakers, showing us what life looks like from God’s perspective. In a season when many are carrying grief and weariness, this message meets us where we are, calling us toward mercy, humility, and peace. Welcome to the podcast, as we listen for how Christ blesses us — and sends us back into the world shaped by his love.

When God Interrupts-0125-26
What happens when God shows up right in the middle of everyday life? In this week’s sermon on Matthew 4, Pastor Nancy Reeves reflects on how Jesus calls the first disciples not in a holy moment set apart, but while they are busy, tired, and tending their nets. This familiar story invites us to listen for God’s call in our own ordinary days—and to wonder how we will respond when that call comes unexpectedly.

Beloved and Just Getting Started-0111-26
This week, we gather at the river with Jesus in Matthew 3 to reflect on how faith begins when we claim our identity as God’s beloved. Pastor Nancy Reeves reminds us that Jesus’ baptism was not an ending, but a beginning—an invitation into relationship and purpose. Welcome to the podcast, as we celebrate being claimed—and sent.

Fear Doesn't Stop Us-010426
On Epiphany Sunday, we close the season of Advent and Christmas and step together into a new year of faith and hope. In the sermon “Fear Doesn’t Stop Us,” we reflect on the journey of the magi—traveling through a dangerous world, guided not by certainty, but by trust. Pastor Nancy Reeves’ message reminds us that faith doesn’t erase fear, but it helps us move through it with courage and hope. As we begin the year, we listen again for God’s invitation to follow the star, receive grace, and keep walking forward — together.

When You're Afraid, Give Me Your Hand-122125
This week, as we enter the Fourth Sunday of Advent, we’re asking a simple but honest question: What do you fear? Pastor Nancy will reflect on how Mary and Joseph faced uncertainty with courage, and how fear doesn’t have to isolate us—it can draw us closer to one another and to God. We’ll explore how God meets fear with presence, not perfection, and how we’re called to do the same. Welcome to the podcast, as we listen for God’s gentle invitation: “Give me your hand.”

When You Are Running Out of Hope, God is Already at Work-120725
This second week in Advent, Pastor Jan Alexander invites us to listen again to the story of John the Baptist, when he asks an honest question from prison: “Are you the one?” It’s a question we ask, too, when life grows heavy, and the path ahead feels unclear. Jesus doesn’t offer easy answers to John. He points to quiet signs of God already at work: healing, restoration, new life breaking in just as Isaiah promised. As we begin this week, may we also look for those small signs of grace and remember that our hope — and our work — truly matter. Take a breath and let’s step into this week with open hearts.

In the Time of Herod, We Long For God to Break In-113025
This week, as Advent begins, we’re invited to step into the world where the Christmas story first unfolded—a world “in the time of King Herod,” where uncertainty, fear, and longing shaped everyday life. Zechariah, an elderly priest, had watched his homeland fall under Roman rule. He carried both a nation’s ache and his own private hopes. And in Lamentations, we hear another voice crying out in personal pain while a whole people struggle under oppression. Scripture reminds us that global turmoil and personal heartache often sit side by side—and the wait for God’s promised rescue can feel unbearably long. But into those places of fear and longing, God speaks. And God draws near. Today, Pastor Nancy leads us through Luke 1:5–13 and Lamentations 3:55–57 as we begin this holy season of expectation. We’ll reflect on the hope that breaks through even in the hardest seasons, and on the God who meets us precisely where we are. Let’s begin our Advent journey together.

What Are You Wearing This Thanksgiving?-112325
This week, Pastor Reeves invites us to look beyond our closets and into the deeper wardrobe Paul describes in Colossians 3. As God’s beloved people, we’re called to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, patience, forgiveness — and above all, love. Gratitude doesn’t come from perfect circumstances. It comes from knowing who we are in Christ. When His peace rules our hearts, we can show up to our families and communities dressed in love, even in difficult seasons. As Thanksgiving approaches, join us as we explore what it means to wear gratitude — not just speak it. When you gather around your table and let your light shine.

Become the Church God Needs Today-111625
This week, we wrap up our “Belonging & Becoming” series by exploring what it means to become the church God needs today. We belong to God—and from that belonging, we’re called to shine Christ’s light in our community and beyond. Here at Grace, that light shows up in the ways we feed the hungry, support our neighbors, nurture our children and youth, and offer compassion to those who need it most. If you would also like to strengthen our missions with your generosity, you can give online through our website. Your prayerful consideration will help Grace continue sharing God’s love in tangible ways. Join us this week — belong, and become. Let your light shine.

Living the Joy of Belonging-1102-25
Every one of us longs to belong— to be seen, valued, and loved. We search for that belonging in family, friendships, and work, yet anything built only on our own effort can feel fragile. This Sunday, Pastor Nancy Reeves invites us to rediscover where true belonging begins— with God. As Psalm 100 reminds us, “It is God who made us, and we are His.” So wherever you are—on your morning walk, at home, or on the road— take a moment to rest in this truth: you belong to God. And in that belonging, there is joy.

A Place to Belong, A Call to Become: Coming Home to Grace-1026-25
This Sunday, as we celebrate twenty-six years of ministry at Grace, we’re coming home. Home to the stories that shaped us, the people who loved us, and the God who still runs to meet us with open arms. Pastor Nancy Reeves shares “A Place to Belong, A Call to Become: Coming Home to Grace,” inspired by Jesus’ parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15. It’s a story of grace that finds us wherever we are, and love that welcomes us home and calls us to grow. Whether you’re returning, visiting, or have been here from the start, there’s a place for you at Grace.

Worn Down But Not Worn Out-1019-25
Have you ever prayed and wondered if God was even listening? You’re not alone. This week, Pastor Nancy Reeves shares the story of the persistent widow as we continue to study Luke’s Gospel. She shows us a woman who refused to give up when everything around her said “no.” It’s a story about faith that doesn’t quit, about a God who never stops listening, and about the kind of love that holds on when life gets hard. Wherever you are—driving, walking, or just taking a quiet moment—join us as we reflect, recharge, and remember that persistence in prayer keeps us connected to the One who never gives up on us.

Be the Tenth One-1012-25
Welcome to Grace Presbyterian Church’s sermon podcast. We all know how easy it is to get so engulfed in life that we stop noticing the lovely little things going on around us. In Luke’s Gospel, ten lepers are healed by Jesus—but only one comes back to give thanks. Just one. This week, Pastor Nancy Reeves shares a message called “Be the Tenth One.” It’s a reminder that gratitude isn’t just good manners—it’s a way of seeing, a way of living close to God. Wherever you are today, take a moment to pause and notice God’s blessings. Let’s learn together how to be the tenth: people who see God’s blessings and then say, “Thank you.”

No Stars Upon Thars at the Lord’s Table-1005-25
This week on the Grace Presbyterian Church sermon podcast, we’re celebrating World Communion Sunday — a day when Christians around the world gather at Christ’s table as one family. Pastor Reeves’ message, “No Stars Upon Thars at the Lord’s Table,” takes a playful cue from Dr. Seuss’s The Sneetches, reminding us that in Christ, labels and divisions lose their power. Join us as we reflect on what it means to truly belong — to sit side by side with believers across continents, cultures, and traditions, and to taste the grace that binds us as one body. Whether you’ve carried a star for years, felt left out, or wondered if you belong — you do. The table is wide, the welcome is real, and there’s a place for you here.

Passing the Vision Test-0928-25
This Sunday at Grace, Pastor Reeves will be sharing a message titled “Passing the Vision Test.” Together, we’ll explore how Jesus invites us to retrain our eyes and our hearts—to notice the people God places right in front of us. In a world that so easily numbs us with busyness or indifference, Christ opens our vision to something greater: to see people the way God sees them. It’s a vision that crosses gates, calls people by name, and practices heaven’s way of love right here and now. Pastor Reeves’ thoughtful sermon helps us to see with Christ’s eyes and empowers us to live as people whose gates become bridges of grace.

A Puzzling Parable, A Deeper Truth-0921-25
Out of all of Jesus’ parables, half are about money. Today, Pastor Owens helps us examine one of the most perplexing passages about worldly possessions. In Luke 16:1-13, Jesus tells a surprising story of a dishonest manager who suddenly faces an audit. Caught in his dishonesty, the manager scrambles to secure his future by reducing the debts of others, hoping to gain their favor. It may seem like a puzzling parable, but Jesus uses it to remind us of a deeper truth. That we are not owners, but stewards. Everything we have -- our time, our gifts, our resources -- is entrusted to us for a season.

In Between Lost and Found-0914-25
This week, Pastor Reeves shares a message from Luke 15:1–10 titled “In Between Lost and Found.” We all know what it feels like to live in that space—not fully lost, but not quite found either; not rejected, but not fully received. In this passage, Jesus tells a story about a shepherd who never gives up searching until every sheep is safe. It’s a reminder that no one is expendable and each of us is worth finding. Stay with us as we hear good news about a God who risks everything to bring us home—and who celebrates with joy when we are found.

Traveling with Jesus or Following Him?-0907-25
Many of us are comfortable walking alongside Jesus—listening to his words, admiring his example, and appreciating his presence. But the gospel calls us to take a deeper step, to move from simply traveling with Jesus to actually living as his disciples. What does that shift look like in the way we care for our families, in the choices we make with our possessions, and in the way we shape our everyday lives? This week, Pastor Reeves leads us through Luke 14:25-33 so we may reflect on these questions together, remembering that the One who calls us has already gone before us, surrendering everything so that we can live.

Seats at the Table-0831-25
Where do you usually sit at the table? In a cafeteria, at a banquet, or even in church, we often assume that the place we occupy says something about our importance or our worth. But the way of Jesus is different. In Luke 14:7–14, He reminds us that God’s Kingdom turns our expectations upside down. The seating chart is rewritten—not by status, wealth, or influence—but by grace. With Jesus, everyone has a place of belonging, honor, and welcome at the table. This week, Pastor Reeves shares this powerful message from Scripture and helps us see how Christ calls us to live with humility, generosity, and open arms for all.

Bent Out of Shape-0824-25
We pray for the church so that we would be known not for judgment, but for grace. Not for fear, but for love. Not for exclusion but for welcome. Our prayer is that we be reminded that the church is about community. Open our eyes to all the ways we are spiritually bent over, and how we define ourselves and others. Pastor Reeves continues to walk with us with “Bent Out of Shape” from the gospel of Luke 13: 10-17.

A Place to Belong, A Call to Become-0817-25
This Sunday, we launch a new year of ministry, celebrating the truth that every person matters in the body of Christ. Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 12 remind us that the Church is a living body, each part unique, each part needed, each part connected. Belonging isn’t about “fitting in,” but about bringing our authentic selves, trusting that God has given each of us a vital role. In "A Place to Belong, A Call to Become", Pastor Reeves shows us that belonging is just the beginning. God calls us to grow, to serve, and to become more fully the body of Christ— together.

What are You Carrying?-0810-25
As we get ready to start the school year again, God reminds us to carry compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience in our backpacks. This week, Ben Reeves, one of our college students, explores how God gives us the opportunity to transform our living backpack from messy into a living backpack organized with what God wants for us. The sermon, “What Are You Carrying?” is based on the scripture Colossians 3:12-17. I hope today’s message is one that inspires you for the new school year.

Storage Wars: Soul Edition-0803-25
In a world obsessed with accumulating more—more stuff, more status, more security—Jesus tells a striking parable about a man with overflowing barns but an empty soul. What are we really storing up in our lives? And how can we become rich in what matters most to God? As we enter August, Pastor Reeves helps us explore what it means to live generously, love deeply, and invest in the kind of treasure that lasts. The sermon, “Storage Wars: Soul Edition,” is based on Luke 12:13–21. Whether you're feeling stretched thin or simply wondering if there's more to life than "more," this message is for you.

From Burnout to Blessed-0720-25
This week Pastor Reeves will conclude our Out of the Cave series with a message from 1 Kings 19:15-21 titled “From Burnout to Blessed.” After walking through depression and despair, Elijah is given a new mission—and a companion in Elisha. This final step out of the cave reminds us that God never intended us to walk alone. We’ll reflect on how healing often comes through relationships. If you’ve felt isolated or weary, this message is for you.

Rebuilding Our Emotional House-0629-25
You might be living a life of strong faith, where you’re doing all the right things, but inside, you feel like you’re barely holding it together. Today, we continue with 1 Kings 19, looking at how the prophet Elijah collapses under a broom tree, overwhelmed and exhausted. God doesn’t scold him—God lets him sleep, feeds him, and gently says, “The journey is too much for you.” But then what? Pastor Reeves helps us explore how to rebuild our emotional lives with connection, purpose, trust, and care. Join us with Elijah’s example of “Rebuilding Our Emotional House.”

This Sunday at Grace, our Youth are being commissioned as they depart for the South Texas Border for a week of service, learning, worship, and connection. At Grace Presbyterian Church we celebrate Family on the Sunday half way between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. This day, we celebrate the many ways God gives us family—biological, chosen, and spiritual. Pastor Reeves offers a special message titled “God’s Forever Family,” based on Mark 3:31–35 and Galatians 3:26–29. She shows what it means to belong to God’s family, where everyone has a place at the table. We hope you hear that in Christ, you are never alone—you are part of a family that lasts forever.

When Fear Locks the Door-0427-25
Even after hearing the good news of Jesus’ resurrection, the disciples hid behind locked doors, paralyzed by fear. But the risen Christ came through those locked doors—not with condemnation, but with peace, presence, and purpose. This week, Pastor Reeves helps us explore how Christ meets us in our most vulnerable moments and how trust can lead us into the freedom of resurrection life. In today’s message, we hope you find courage, comfort, and hope.

Between Grief and Hope-0420-25
Easter begins in the shadows. In Luke 24 verses 1–12, the women come to the tomb grieving, only to discover it empty. They receive the message: “He is not here, but has risen.” Grief is a faithful way to show up at Easter. Like Peter, who runs to the tomb in the space between sorrow and hope, we don’t need all the answers to take a step toward the good news. This Easter Sunday Pastor Reeves helps us explore the promise that grief does not cancel out hope, and hope doesn’t wait for our grief to be gone. Join us with shouts of Alleluia or whispers of longing. The Risen Christ meets us all on the way.

Between Shouting and Silence-0413-25
Palm Sunday is often remembered for its noise—the shouting crowds, the waving palms, the joyful parade. But what if the real message is quieter than we think? This Sunday, Pastor Reeves will help us explore Luke’s version of the triumphal entry, where Jesus simply shows up—and his presence alone is enough to inspire people to praise God with everything they’ve got. As we wave our palms and sing our hosannas, this story teaches us that wisdom lies in knowing when to speak and when to listen. This is the beginning of Holy Week, when we celebrate both the joyful noise and the holy hush that draws us closer to Christ.

Between Righteousness and Mercy-0406-25
This Sunday in worship, Pastor Reeves challenges us to reflect on the tension between righteousness and mercy. What does it mean to be “right” in the eyes of God? Who deserves compassion? In a world that often pits these values against each other, Jesus models a way of holding both together with a surprising dinner invitation. In Luke 19, verses 1-10, he invites himself to the home of Zacchaeus, a man the crowd loves to hate. Zacchaeus’ story is one of transformation. I hope you reflect on the life-changing power of living between mercy and righteousness.

Between Lost and Found-0330-25
This Sunday, Pastor Reeves will help us explore one of Jesus’ most beloved parables. In Luke 15, Jesus tells the story of the lost sheep in response to grumbling religious leaders who couldn’t understand why Jesus welcomed sinners. This story invites us to reflect on what it means to feel lost—and to be found – and how most of us find ourselves in between. Join us as we consider where we are on that path today and discover anew the persistence of the One who rescues each of us.
