IT's The Relaunch!!!!  The podcast is back on all streaming platforms with a Re-Brand. This is the Hall of Famers Podcast. Where we explore all thing that make people Hall of Famers, or something like that.   The first Episode of the re-boot is all about JFL Vancouver which runs Feb 13th to 23rd across Vancouver. The fine folks set up two interviews for this episode. First up is Ivan Decker. Ivan, originally from Vancouver, now Los Angeles- based, is a writer, standup comic and actor, known for his sharp, polished, and multi-layered observational comedy. Ivan has performed at all the big festivals and is a regular on CBC The Debaters. Ivan has two show at JFL, Feb 22nd at the The York Theatre. Next is the superstar that is Maddy Smith, you all know Maddy from her many seasons on MTV's Wild and Out and her viral podcast Mad House. After a summer break the CCHOF Podcast returns! Two very funny comics on the return episode. Episode 41 is all about the new show on Amazon Prime Video (Canada ) and Hulu (US ), Davey & Jonesie's Locker. The show is a coming-of-age comedy centered on the relationship between two inseparable best friends, Davey & Jonesie. The shows creator Evany Rosen joins the podcast, Evany a founding member of the Canadian Comedy Award-winning comedy troupe Picnicface, and has years of comedy writing experience with partners such as CBC, Crave, Disney, DreamWorks, AppleTV and Cartoon Network. Episode 40 is all about the hosts! Although both guests are American they have some serious Canadian ties. First is Hunter March! Hunter is the New Host of Netflix Blown Away, a Canadian Produced show that was filmed in Hamilton. Hunter is a Stand Up who has also hosted Sugar Rush on Netflix and Nightly Pop on E! Next is Marc Summers, Marc was the host many kids grew up with, he was the host of Double Dare on Nickelodeon in the Early 90's and at one point was Howie Mandel's opener. More recently Marc has been hosting on the Food Network and can now be seen Performing Off Broadway in his show The Life and Slimes of Marc Summers! Episode 39 is Live From Hamilton! Two stars of this years CCHOF Festival join the show! First up is the always hilarious Shaun Majumder, Shaun is a stand up comic, sketch performer and one of the hosts of This Hour Has 22 Minutes. Chad gets the scoop from Shaun on one of his favorite shows growing up UH OH! Next up is Elvira Kurt, Elvira is one of Canada's greatest comics, she has performed at JFL and was the host of PopCultured. Episode 36 is a big one! Featuring two guests with impressive resumes. First up it’s CCHOF Inductee Steve Smith! Steve of course is known as the co-creator and star of the hit Canadian sketch show The Red Green Show which ran for 300 episodes and 15 season. The Class of 2023 Canadian Comedy Hall of Fame has been announced! Chad reveals all the names who will go into this years class at a ceremony in February in Hamilton. Two big interviews are also on the show! First up is Kenny Hotz, star of Kenny vs Spenny, South Park writer, producer and director. Kenny talks about the makings of his show with Spenny, inside the South Park writers room and the early days of Yuk Yuks. Next up is one of the best standups in the game today Dave Merheje! The New Wave of Stand Up kicks off August 28th on CBC Gem with a full lineup of incredible comedians. Two of the stars are on this weeks podcast. It's August! Which means JFL has ended, but where one festival ends another begins! The Danforth Comedy Festival runs for 5 days in August (4th, 5th, 6th, 11th and 12th) on the Danforth and features some of Canada's top comics including Sean Cullen, Crystal Ferrier, Nathan MacIntosh, Glen Foster, Tim Blair, Rob Haze and many more. Just for The Culture (Formerly The Ethnic Show), is back at JFL Montreal this summer, July 18th to the 26th at Club Soda. The show features a diverse line-up of comedians from various cultural backgrounds and experiences. Two performers from the show are on todays episode, first up its Arthur Simeon. Arthur is a Ugandan-born Toronto-based comedian who has been performing for a decade all over the world. He has opened for Russel Peters and is curious about Pot Lucks! The Nasty Show is one of the premier events on the JFL Schedule! This years Nasty Show is star studded and runs July 18th to the 26th at Club Soda in Montreal. Wayne and Shuster's list of accomplishments and credits includes inductions into the Canadian Comedy Hall of Fame and the most appearances ever on the Ed Sullivan Show.
