Hallmarked Up!

We're back for one last extended episode to talk through 12 Dates Til Christmas, a lovely little series that went over several weekends.  Come along on this more dark rewrite where we had to introduce a new channel entirely #HallmarkAfterDark.  Sarah is joined by Chris and Jonny to create a very intriguing version of this now titled 'Pies Wide Shut' series.  Talented Saville Row textile pattern designer Kate (Whitman) lives in the quaint village of Blexford, England, next door to her father Mac (Parker), who is long-divorced from Kate’s mother Delilah (McDonnell), a globe-trotting American always on an adventure. When not at work, Kate looks after Mac, who’s recovering from a motorbike accident and is inclined to spend his days sitting in his recliner. Unbeknownst to Kate, her best friend Laura (Eaton) signs her up for The 12 Dates of Christmas – a holiday-themed matchmaking program in the days leading up to the holiday featuring carefully curated, yuletide dating experiences, in an attempt to get Kate out of her rut. Lovingly coerced by Laura and longtime best friend Callum (Morris), a reluctant Kate ultimately gets into the spirit of the program and is caught off guard when she meets someone (Sandeman) who reinvigorates her zest for life. But when Delilah unexpectedly shows up on her doorstep – literally – Kate and Mac’s life and holiday season get upended. Meanwhile, Mac may be embarking on his own romance with local Evelyn (Seymour), a widow who slowly helps him step outside the confines of his house and open his heart. As Kate wends her way through the 12 dates, she takes a circuitous route to romance while also making some important discoveries about herself. We are back for another season, albeit not quite in line with the new releases, due to a relatively dull start. But luckily this movie, MERRY CHRISTMAS, TED COOPER! caught our eyes. Mary is on a bit of a break, but luckily seasoned Countdown to Christmas Watchers, Megan and David join us to share in Bingo & #Relatable moments as we rewrite this early goodie!Weatherman Ted Cooper (Buckley) loves Christmas, but the past three have been terrible. This year, Ted has made up his mind that things will be different – this will be the Christmas things turn around for him. But Ted’s relentless optimism is about to be put to the test as he is faced with a litany of injuries and obstacles when he travels back to his hometown of Lackawanna, NY for the holidays. Within hours of arriving at his sister Kate’s house, he finds himself making a trip to Urgent Care after falling off a ladder while hanging decorations. While there, he runs into Ruth Mittens, his former high school science teacher who was always his cheerleader. He also reconnects with the charming Hope Miller (Sustad), except now she’s Dr. Hope Miller, with whom he went to high school and quietly crushed on from afar. Thanksgiving Continued. Sarah is back with faithful watcher, Bettina who helps us get updated on all of the Thanksgiving movies.  We do a decent recap of Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Lovestory.  Sarah has a controversial opinion of it.  Bettina tells us which movie is the worst one ever.  Full review of the one we were waiting for, The Christmas Quest with #MorePolaha. Mary and Sarah return to discuss this week's movie about Broadway, A CAROL FOR TWO. As Jessie and Bryan engage in eccentric activities like the search for the Christmas tree star, gift wrapping contest and snowball fight, they start to develop real feelings for each other.  Soon her family begins to catch on to their secret and Bryan suspects she may be hiding the real reason for her unusual Christmas date request. Sarah is back to rejoin Mary while they discuss CHRISTMAS ISLAND. While Sarah is away, Mary hosts an episode with some very special guests on this pseudo-crossover HGTV/Hallmark, sure to be an instant classic....or maybe not! It’s almost Christmas when busy realtor Abigail agrees to help her sister with the “simple flip” of a recently inherited home. Unfortunately, co-beneficiary Bo has other plans in mind. Mary and Sarah are back with guest Connor to open the season with Where Are You Christmas? Find out what happens on this Christmas take on Pleasantville, Hallmark cleaned up, of course! Mary and Sarah are joined by LGBTQ+ friends Matt and Jonathan (a couple) and Chris (single!) on this Hallmark first.  Such a lovely movie.  #hallmarkpride When Sam, a workaholic bachelor, babysits his niece and nephew before the holidays, he recruits help from their handsome neighbor Jason and finds himself in an unexpected romance. Starring Jonathan Bennett and George Krissa.

Could this one be a Christmas version of THE BODYGUARD?!?!?!?  Mary and Sarah are joined by Connor and Elizabeth to hash through this latest Hallmark move, UNDERCOVER HOLIDAY.  It's a fun rewrite! When returning home for the holidays, newly minted pop star Jaylen tells her protective family that her overzealous security guard Matt is, in fact, her new beau. Starring Noemi Gonzalez and Stephen Huszar.

Mary and Sarah watched a few over the Merry Thanksgiving weekend, but chose to only pay attention to A Christmas Cookie Catastrophe.  Joined by book club friend, Meghan, this #redpenrewindrewrite is stellar.  You won't want to miss the new concept introduced during this episode.  Please call us Hallmark to help us make this amazing interactive movie come to life! Annie faces her first obstacle as CEO of Cooper's Cookies when grandma's secret recipe is stolen. While investigating the theft, she works with local baker Sam to recreate the beloved recipe. Week number four already?!?!  Mary and Sarah invite an actual Italian, Giovanni and his wife Sarah on to discuss the Movies & Mysteries OUR ITALIAN CHRISTMAS MEMORIES. The Colucci siblings, in an effort to jog the memory of their grandfather who is struggling with dementia, set out to recreate their late grandmother’s legendary pasta sauce. Mary and Sarah are back - this week watching Lights, Camera, Christmas with book coach, Tedd.  We continue with our regular segments, Christmas Bingo, #Relatable and More Polaha.  Plus the Red Pen, Rewind, Rewrite!  See how this one takes off! When a holiday rom-com movie shooting in her town needs a costume designer, Kerry, a local shop owner, steps into the role. While working on the movie, she rediscovers her passion for costume design and finds herself falling for Brad, the film’s famous leading man. Starring Kimberley Sustad and John Brotherton.

Mary and Sarah are joined by Fran to discuss this week's half of an upcoming double feature, SISTER SWAP: A HOMETOWN HOLIDAY. Jennifer and Meg Swift are sisters who couldn’t be closer despite living hours apart. Jennifer is in Salt Lake City, running a successful restaurant she started with her late husband and raising her teenaged son Simon.
