We were obsessed with the imagined world of New England that John Irving created--so different from our middle class suburban 90s Albertan lives. We became especially obsessed with the characters Hannah & Ruth. In 2021, we decided to reread the book together, and talk about what we remember, how we grew up and acted as Hannahs and as Ruths and what we think about all of this now.
