Episode 12: The Babadook / Freaks and Geeks S01E02 "Weirs and Beers" / Link and the Hyrule Gang (with guest Samantha Farmer/MechaWeegie91/Mocha Moonpie)
We ring in 2023 with a discussion on mental health and roach men with the 2014 Australian film "The Babadook", and Dillon makes Paul go retro with an episode of the 1999 series that takes place in the early 80s, "Freaks and Geeks". Then for the very first time, we have the privilege of hosting the creator of our third segment with us! Fans of the YouTube Poop community will know her as MechaWeegie91, or possibly Mocha Moonpie; Samantha Farmer - creator of the "Link and the Hyrule Gang" YTP series! We talk about the series, dive into the person behind one of our favorite pieces of New Media, and discuss why we love YouTube Poop - described by Wikipedia as "is a type of video or edit created by remixing/editing pre-existing media sources often carrying subcultural significance into a new video for humorous, satirical, obscene, and profane—as well as annoying, confusing, or dramatic purposes" - so much. - Contents: (3:52) - "The Babadook" (2014) (22:03) - "Freaks and Geeks" episode 2, "Weirs and Beers" (1999) (42:01) - "Link and the Hyrule Gang" (originally uploaded 2010-2013), with YouTube Pooper MechaWeegie91/Samantha Farmer/Mocha Moonpie! - Follow Samantha's twitter: @HeyMochaMoonpie and watch Hyrule Gang at: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhaSfY9-OiM&list=PLBadMWdyU-V1ass1mnz47M1SOODlb-sJh) Read Paul’s book series, The Kingdom’s Disdain, at: (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08RZDMBMF?searchxofy=true&binding=kindle_edition&qid=1659638932&sr=1-1) Visit our friend Caitlin’s store at: (etsy.com/shop/skeletongardenco) - Credits: Theme Song - Lyrics by Krista Lang and Dillon Cannon, Music by Krista Lang Kingdom’s Disdain Theme - “Inspire” by Creative Mediass Skeleton Garden Theme - “Fun Times” by Anton Vlasov "Link: The Faces of Evil" and "Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon" by Nintendo and Phillips Interactive Media "The Super Mario Brothers Super Show" by Nintendo of America "Link and the Hyrule Gang" by MechaWeegie91 "Gwonam's Gweat Adventuwe" by Walrus Guy

Episode 9: The Peanuts Movie / A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors / The Nightmare Before Christmas
Paul and Dillon start off Halloween Month with one of the most definitive Halloween movies, Tim Burton's (who didn't write or direct it) "The Nightmare Before Christmas"! Dillon's assignment this week is 2015's "The Peanuts Movie", based on the iconic comic strips and TV specials created by Charles Schulz. Paul's assignment continues our journey through Freddy Krueger's "Nightmare on Elm Street" with 1987's "Dream Warriors". In addition, discussions are had about adult McDonald's Happy Meals, the new Chris Pratt and Jack Black "Mario" trailer, and if Universalist theology truly applies to dogs. There's a lot of rambling since we're both part werewolf, so the October Full Moon makes it difficult for us to focus. We'd apologize but we're not sorry. Segments: (0:00) - Adult Happy Meals and Mario (6:54) - Intro (9:09) - "The Peanuts Movie" (2015) (40:28) - "A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors" (1987) (55:18) - "The Nightmare Before Christmas" (1993) + Closing Discussions - Read Paul’s book series, The Kingdom’s Disdain, at: (https://www.amazon.com/The-Kingdoms-Disdain-8-book-series/dp/B08RZDMBMF) And get Dillon's tie-in novel, "Bru-Nack the Giant and his Eternal Stew: A Comedy in 7 Tragedies (A Kingdom's Disdain Story)" at (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C7JVTFR3) Visit our friend Caitlin’s store at: (etsy.com/shop/skeletongardenco) - Credits: Theme Song - Music and Performance by Krista Lang, Lyrics by Krista Lang and Dillon Cannon Kingdom’s Disdain Theme - “Inspire” by Creative Mediass Skeleton Garden Theme - “Fun Times” by Anton Vlasov

Episode 8: The Ballad of Buster Scruggs / The Court Jester / Blazing Saddles
Paul escapes last episode's time loop, but he has to watch "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs" (2018) which he thoroughly does not enjoy. Paul assigns Dillon "The Court Jester" (1955), which he DOES enjoy. Then the guys discuss the totally important issue of whether you could make Mel Brooks's classic "Blazing Saddles" (1974) today. GROUNDHOG DAY SPECIAL!!! (7 months early) Groundhog Day / Happy Death Day / Palm Springs
Paul is stuck in a time-loop, where he has to record the same episode over and over! Will he ever get out?! "Groundhog Day" (1993) starring Bill Murray is a classic comedy where a guy has to relive the same day on repeat. Naturally, other movies ran with this concept as well. We know that it's not the time of the year for a Groundhog Day Holiday Special, but it felt like fate when, without knowing they were doing it, the guys each picked a movie inspired by the set-up! Paul's choice is "Happy Death Day" (2017), and Dillon's is Hulu Original, "Palm Springs" (2020). Contents: (0:00) - Intro (04:44) - "Groundhog Day" 1(3:54) - "Happy Death Day" (24:20) - "Palm Springs" (39:01) - Games + Springsteen song about Paul being stuck in a time-loop/Outro - Read Paul’s book series, The Kingdom’s Disdain, at: (https://www.amazon.com/The-Kingdoms-Disdain-8-book-series/dp/B08RZDMBMF) And get Dillon's tie-in novel, "Bru-Nack the Giant and his Eternal Stew: A Comedy in 7 Tragedies (A Kingdom's Disdain Story)" at (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C7JVTFR3) Visit our friend Caitlin’s store at: (etsy.com/shop/skeletongardenco) - Credits: Theme Song - Music and Performance by Krista Lang, Lyrics by Krista Lang and Dillon Cannon Kingdom’s Disdain Theme - “Inspire” by Creative Mediass Skeleton Garden Theme - “Fun Times” by Anton Vlasov

We have a theme song now! Paul's pick this week is Akira Kurosawa's masterpiece "Sanjuro" (1962). Episode 3: The Babysitter / The Station Agent / The Greatest Showman (with Guest Host Mischief the Cat!)
The guys have been CANCELLED by the WOKE MORALIST MOB!!!! We address the controversy with a new review. Paul's assignment is 2017's black comedy "The Babysitter". Dillon's pick is the 2004 Peter Dinklage vehicle "The Station Agent". And to top it all off, we have very mixed feelings on the massively successful PT Barnum biopic/musical "The Greatest Showman" (2017). Also, Dillon's sister-in-law's cat Mischief joins in on the discussion with dynamic, culturally-relevant takes on late 19th/early 20th century entertainment and cancel culture. - Read Paul’s book series, The Kingdom’s Disdain, at: (https://www.amazon.com/The-Kingdoms-Disdain-8-book-series/dp/B08RZDMBMF) And get Dillon's tie-in novel, "Bru-Nack the Giant and his Eternal Stew: A Comedy in 7 Tragedies (A Kingdom's Disdain Story)" at (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C7JVTFR3) Visit our friend Caitlin’s store at: (etsy.com/shop/skeletongardenco) - Credits: Theme Song - Music and Performance by Krista Lang, Lyrics by Krista Lang and Dillon Cannon Kingdom’s Disdain Theme - “Inspire” by Creative Mediass Skeleton Garden Theme - “Fun Times” by Anton Vlasov Intro/Outro Theme: “Funny Story” by Pavel Yudin

Episode 2: Blinded By The Light / The Lighthouse / Avengers: Endgame

Episode 1: A Nightmare on Elm Street / Hairspray / Sweeney Todd
In our premier episode, horror fanatic Paul Lang assigns Dillon the 1984 classic "A Nightmare on Elm Street"; tone-deaf Broadway aficionado Dillon Cannon assigns Paul the 2007 musical adaptation of "Hairspray"; and in search of a slasher musical, we review Tim Burton's "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street". Also, we find out why getting married made Paul a bad film critic and Dillon tries to come up with a theme song for the show. "He Made Me Watch That" is a show about two friends assigning each other movies outside our respective comfort zone, and then coming together to review them.
