    Episode 29: Fire Us Up For October Baseball & Are The Vikings For Real?

    In our New Girl famous episode, the crew kicks things off chatting all things Thursday night football as the Cowboys took down the Giants in a strange contest (00:41), then transitioning into which 3-0 teams are legit Super Bowl contenders (4:41). On the flip side, can the Bengals and Jaguars recover from an early season hole, (13:04) and what are the lads Games of the Week in Week 4 (18:30)? Switching speeds to the diamond, Monday looks to be poised for a massive doubleheader between the Braves and Mets for playoff implications (24:35). Will the Dodgers make some noise in the postseason (29:12), and the final game in Oakland was a dramatic one (34:20). The boys chat a little pre-season hockey (39:53) before touching on the President's Cup at Royal Montreal (54:41) and giving a few picks in this week's Walking The Moneyline segment (56:14).     Episode 28: TNF Recap & the Transitional Captain is back in the NFL

    The boys start episode 28 of the healthy scratches with a healthy dose of football, recapping the terrible Thursday night football game between AFC East rivals New York Jets and New England Patriots. afterwards the guys tee up the rest of the week three slate of games and giving reactions to over preforming teams to underperforming teams. In the final 10 minutes it's all hockey talk as training camps have started and the transitional captain is so back with Blackhawks and Ducks naming two bridge captains.     Episode 27: Remembering Johnny Gaudreau

    Summer break is over, we.are.back. We were already planning on recording an episode and then the tragic news that Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew died Thursday night while riding their bicycles in a case of drunk driving, so our plan of course changed. All four of the boys send their thoughts and prayers to the Gaudreau family, teammates and friends during this tough time. Don't Drink and Drive. After the guys remember Johnny for the outstanding hockey player that he was they stay with hockey but talk about the rookie trades that have happened in the last week, first with Rutger McGroarty and then Yaroslav Askarov. In the second half the show the guys talk straight NFL with the new contract to wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk and CeeDee Lamb before Justin goes through the Patriots schedule and how he thinks they could be a playoff team.     Episode 26: CFL and Toronto Argonauts Talk feat. Bryan Scott

    An action-packed show today starting with the current state of the Toronto Blue Jays and what we anticipate Ross Atkins and Co. to do ahead of the July 30th trade deadline (0:50). Speaking of the deadline, the Mariners and Rays made some noise, we go over the Randy Arozarena deal as it is the first domino to fall this deadline (10:16). After baseball the lads talk about the Paris Olympics, what we’re most excited for, what athletes to look out for the most and of course, the Canadian Women’s National Team Drone Scandal (19:06).     Episode 24: A Lot Can Change In 8 Days For The NHL & Ian Finlayson Talks Jays

    We. Are. Back. after being off for one week we are back with another episode of the Healthy Scratches Podcast. First we looked into the NHL draft and whether or not it the entertainment value was what everyone had hoped. Staying with Hockey we broke down the busy NHL free agency that saw over 100 players move teams and more then $1 billion spent in the first 12 hours. unlike the NHL the next topic spent $1 billion in the first couple contracts, the NBA and Paul George. Eric, Justin and Alex debate whether or not Paul George should be looked upon as superstar free agent with no pass success. FINALLY we had our first ever in studio guest, classmate and Jays guru, Ian Finlayson. Where we talked Vladdy's special month but what the Jays might end up doing at the trade deadline.     Episode 23: We Talking Jordan Pod??

    On today's festive Friday podcast the boys get after it early and often. We start off with a breakdown of the first COPA America match between Canada and Argentina and how Canada needs to bounce back in order to advance in this tournament.     Episode 22: Brace Yourselves... The Sports Calendar Year Is Nearing The End

    Ep. 22 Healthy Scratches    It’s June which means we’re nearing the end of the primetime sports calendar as both series leading teams in the NHL and NBA finals have a 3-0 stranglehold on their opponent. Say it ain’t so but this time next week we could have a new Larry O’Brien and Stanley Cup champion. The crew does a deep dive into each respective series and give predictions on how they both turn out. Once the playoff talk concluded the boys go over the third golf major of the year in the US Open in Pinehurst, North Carolina.  After the links is some NFL banter regarding the Jacksonville Jaguars future, specifically with the Trevor Lawrence contract extension. Followed by trade bait talk with Patrick Laine and the Columbus Blue Jackets, and of course, the EURO Cup kicking off with Germany and Scotland the day of recording. Like every episode Jackson and Eric end off with Walking the Money Line for Saturday’s slate of games. Don’t look now but Jackson is hitting at a 75% clip in the last six episodes!     Episode 21: Are The Celtics An All Time Great Team?

    The 2024 RBC Canadian Open was one to remember for fans and us! The guys break down the sights and sounds of covering their first PGA tour event and what content you should look out for on our socials. From that the guys discuss the dominance of the Boston Celtics in game one of the NBA finals and the addition of getting Kristaps Porzingis back. Before they move from the hardwood they predict who will take home Finals MVP. For the first time ever the guys talk TENNIS, that's right, tennis and the French Open at that. First they look at the men's singles semi-final action between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner before teeing up the women's singles final between Iga Swiatek and Jasmine Paolini.     Episode 20: Healthy Scratches X RBC Canadian Open

    The boys are hitting the links! All weekend the guys will be at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club working on content and stories from the RBC Canadian Open that will be on all our socials! Once the golf talk was over the crew moved into an update on the NHL playoffs and who will win the best of three series in both the Western and Eastern Conference. Next on the list, the NBA playoffs. Justin tries to defend the hopeless Minnesota Timberwolves one last time but is out number in full.     Episode 19: The Blue Birds Are HOT & Which Playoff Series Is Most Entertaining?

    Finally some positive news to share regarding the Blue Jays, rolling off four wins in their last five and we want to talk about it (2:31)! The final two matchups are also set for the NHL playoffs, and we discuss who looks poised to battle for the Stanley Cup (10:43) before breaking down some powerhouse head-to-head hoop matchups in the NBA conference finals (26:26). Things get spicy with the crew ranking the top four players left in the NBA postseason (36:38) and which of the four final matchups on the ice and court is the most entertaining (43:40). We wrap things up with some thoughts on the PWHL Finals (49:48) before the our new Walking The Moneyline segment (55:26) makes it's debut.     Episode 18: The Playoffs Are Heating Up & Where Do The Blue Jays Go??

    A crazy morning in Louisville Friday morning! We share our thoughts on Scottie Scheffler's arrest and subsequent stellar round at the PGA Championship this weekend (0:44). Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins had his quarterly media availability Saturday morning regarding the start of the 2024 season. We break down the press conference and give their insights on which direction the boys in blue might be heading if things don’t start to change (6:38). Shifting to the NBA second round matchups, we discuss possibility one of the easiest paths ever to a conference finals round (we’ll let you guess which team), along with the remaining Game 6 and two Game 7’s predictions (11:50). Following the hardwood talk is some playoff hockey as we go over all the second-round matchups and the ECF matchup between the Panthers and Rangers along with the Stars vs the winner of Oilers/Canucks (29:50). We end the episode with some PWHL action (1:02:57) and of course everyone’s favourite segment, Student Units (1:04:54).
