Heart-2-Heart
by LA Talk Radio
In 2005, the journey of our working relationship began when we first met in a work-related event. Very quickly, we both learned about our shared passions related to doing research focused on the understanding of one’s loving authentic true-self, sexuality, addiction, and trauma. Our passion for these issues began as a result of our own life experiences and stories. Each of us were raised in two different cultures, both Eastern and Western, and, of course, different family dynamics. Because of the powerful influence of these factors, we became alienated from what we now know is our loving authentic true-selves and suffered because of this. It led Dr. Jaffe to struggle with addictive behaviors, and Dr. Rashidian to struggle with perfectionism, for many years. The challenges we both engaged in, to overcome these influences, strongly informed our individual professional passions, to assist others to recognize, value, and appreciate their own loving authentic true-selves.Listen Live Thursd

Self-esteem continues...
Self-esteem continues... In this program we talked about the origin of, and some different aspects related to low, medium or high self-esteem. The umbrella which covers all self-esteem is composed of smaller pieces. For example, we may have high self-esteem related to the kind of work we do, or the kind of parent we are, or, how we are able to put a meal together. We may have lesser self-esteem related to how we play tennis, our sex life, or our communication skills. In this program, we explore these issues in greater depth, in order to help you learn how to both appreciate and improve your self-esteem at whatever level you are.

Welcome to our opening show
Welcome to our opening show. We have named the show ‘Heart-2-Heart’ and the reason for that is because we are going to discuss matters of the heart. Simply put, this includes self-love, and love between ourselves and others. In this first show we touch upon the following topics: Loving communication, Empathy, Understanding, and Acceptance. In order to create more love in the world it is important to develop a compassionate mind. These and related subjects are all covered in this, our first show.
