Here to Hunt

Follow along with the story of Jack's first mule deer, and Jack's first successful hunt as a Wyoming resident. Jack and Rob talk conditions, game plan, strategy, execution, and even what might happen if an animal that you're after happens onto private land. Lessons were learned and reflections were had on another installment of Tag Soup.

In this episode Jack and Rob start with a brief recap of Rob’s current step in the accurizing process and then talk for a while about Moose and Sheep tags and applications. From there the meat of the episode is all about what goes into the backcountry on your back (excluding clothing). Jack and Rob discuss packs, pack organization, gear accessibility, tons of preferences on specific gear for shelters, sleep systems, first aid, kill kits, backcountry communication, bio harnesses, and more. They also share some of their personal “packing hacks” to make the backcountry pursuit a little more comfortable and convenient.
