    Hosted by Tom Lamog featuring award winning songwriter and US Army Combat Veteran, Devon Stewart who speaks candidly about his life on the streets of Phoenix AZ, motivation to enlisting, military career, guitar and songwriting, flying drones for aerial photography, and his commitment to helping other veterans through music and the arts. Devon joined the U.S. Army Infantry in 2003, was deployed to Iraq 3 times, once to Afghanistan, and received a Purple Heart for injuries sustained from an IED. After leaving the service in 2015, Stewart started playing guitar while a patient at Walter Reed Medical Center. Since then, he’s gone on to win the National Veterans Creative Arts Competition three years in a row from 2022 through 24 for his original music. But the winning didn’t stop there. Devon placed 1st in his home state of Alaska in the 2025 competition and is awaiting the results from the national judging which will be announced in December. A devoted husband and father, Devon also takes pride in being able to share his music with other veterans through multiple outlets in his Alaskan community.
