    Episode 44 - 1979 World Series

On this week's show we recap one of the worst memories for a lot of Orioles fans and that's the 1979 World Series. If you want to, go back in time with me to recap this soul crushing series.Follow Me on Socials@AndySnaks@BirdlandHistoryDon't forget to check out my friends Food Truck Loud Tacos!!

Episode 43 - What if the Orioles resigned Markakis, Cruz & Miller?

I probably think about this more than I would care to admit but I've always wondered what could have been with the Orioles if they decided to bring back Nick Markakis, Nelson Cruz and Andrew Miller after the 2014 season. Well I dive into it on this episode and something tells me I won't feel much better afterwards.A few years back Dan Connolly wrote a piece on this very topic, check it out here.If you are in the Harford or Baltimore County areas, keep an eye out for my friends food truck, Loud Tacos.Follow me on X@AndySnaks@BirdlandHistory

The 1997 Orioles might have had one of the best regular seasons in the past 30 years. They went wire to wire, never spending a day out of first place, winning 98 games. The 2021 season was definitely a season to forget for Orioles fans. The rebuild was still in progress and the Orioles only managed to win 52 games. Episode 28 - 1969 World Series

It was one of the biggest upsets in World Series history. The 109 win Baltimore Orioles faced the 'Miracle Mets' in the 1969 Fall Classic and just like in Super Bowl III earlier in 1969, it was not a good end to a great season for the Baltimore team. Episode 26 - Player Profile - Melvin Mora

The Orioles went 15 straight seasons without a winning record from 1998-2011. However, just because the team was not great as a whole it doesn't mean they didn't have good players putting together good seasons. Melvin Mora was one of those players always putting together consistent performances for the Orioles that led to a induction into the Orioles Hall of Fame after his playing career was over. Episode 23 - Player Profile - Chris Tillman

In my opinion one of the unsung heroes of the Orioles teams from 2012-2016. He was our top of the rotation starter who put together a good 4 year stretch before injuries claimed a promising career. It's back to a player profile and it's Chris Tillman! 34. 11

    Episode 11 - The 1988 Orioles start 0-21

It might be one of the worst teams and the worst start to a season in any sport.  Just 5 years removed from winning their last World Championship the 1988 Baltimore Orioles would start the season 0-21.  Join me as I go game by game of one of the most infamous streaks in sports history. 35. 10

Episode 10 - Player Profile - Adam Jones

  37. 8

Episode 8 - Chris Davis earns the win on the mound

This was easily one of the wildest wins in recent Orioles history.  Early on in the memorable 2012 playoff season for the Orioles they played a 17 inning marathon in Boston and their power hitting first baseman Chris Davis earned the win from the mound.  Let's relive this improbable early season win in the Orioles magical 2012 season. 39. 6

Episode 6 - Orioles vs. Cuba

After years of political blockings and red tape, in 1999 an American baseball team played an exhibition game in the country of Cuba.  That team was the Baltimore Orioles and they also played a game in Baltimore as well.  In this episode I go back and relive those weird two games between the Baltimore Orioles and the Cuban National Team. 40. 5

Episode 5 - Player Profile - Mike Cuellar

I'm back and this episode dives into the great career of Mike Cuellar and those great Orioles teams of the late 60s and early 70s.  This is the first episode in which I've covered a topic I wasn't alive for and i hope you enjoy it as much I enjoyed doing research for it! 41. 4

Episode 4 - 1997 American League Championship Series

For the first time in the podcast I'll take a deep dive into something bad in the history of the Orioles.  The 1997 Orioles were one of the best teams in the teams storied history but they fell short of winning the World Series, and not just that they didn't even make it past the ALCS.  I'll go through the entire 1997 ALCS and the fallout that led to 15 years of losing baseball in Charm City. Twitter Handles - @BirdlandHistory & @AndySnaks

  42. 3

    Episode 3 - Game 162 of 2011 Season

The last day of the 2011 Major League Baseball season was one of the most dramatic in the history of the game and the Orioles were right in the middle.  Let's go back and re-live the Orioles beating the Red Sox, eliminating them from the postseason and spring boarding themselves back into baseball relevancy for the next several years.   Twitter Handles @BirdlandHistory & @AndySnaks

  43. 2

Episode 2 - Player Profile - Eric Davis

My first player profile and it's Eric Davis!  Eric only spent a few seasons in Baltimore but they certainly how some tremendous highs and incredible lows.  Davis suffered through a devastating colon cancer diagnosis only to return the same season and deliver one of the biggest hits in the 1997 season.  He also had arguably one of his best seasons while wearing the orange and black in 1998.  Hope you enjoy my first player profile, Eric Davis! 44. 1

Episode 1 - The Opening of Oriole Park

It's the debut episode of the History of Birdland Podcast and what better way to start than the opening of Oriole Park at Camden Yards!  Oriole Park is celebrating it's 30th Anniversary in 2022 and in this episode I go back to when it all began and recap the first ever game to take place in the crown jewel of Major League Baseball Stadiums.
