This Episode Is The Worst
In today’s episode, we discussed Nia Long and Young Jeezy’s talk about childhood trauma, specifically in regards to childhood sexual trauma inflicted on black men by older black women. We’re warning you: it’s triggering. It is also an honest conversation that we needed to have about combatting an issue that is way too common in all of our communities. Do we want chaos?
In this episode, we took a conversation from Twitter and wanted to talk about navigating peace. Interestingly enough, Obio's bored with peace, Lynae's balancing work and personal, and Sim is just happy to be enjoying the Southern energy of it all. Question, where did you see yourself in your late twenties/early thirties?
-

Happy Pride?
Happy Pride! This episode dives into the complexities of telling queer stories and advocating for the collective liberation of marginalized people. We wanted to explore the politics of masculinity while being gay and also the nuance of gay lingo going mainstream. Hope you enjoy!

It's something wrong with y'all.
Trigger warning: This episode includes conversation about physical, verbal, and emotional abuse as well as grooming. We're sure you're aware of the passing of the Legend, Tina Turner. What surprised us was the resurfacing of her domestic abuse to honor her life, so we felt it necessary to unpack the way we treat abuse, especially with celebrities. Tina Turners career is filled with accolades yet her abusive relationship has been put in the forefront more than we’re comfortable with. This conversation got a little heavy but it was definitely an important heavy.

Is it hood boy joy?
Whew! The people are buying couches off the street in New York, the kids are treating prom like the Met (theme: Love and Hip Hop but make it formal), and Ja Morant was on Live waving a gun. Just listen to the episode cause it's a lot happening at once.

We All Got That One Fren..

Leave Beyoncé Out Of It
In this episode, we wanted to dive into the complexities of blackness and religious rhetoric. “I haven’t been Jackie Hill Perry’d” Obio says, but how many people have? We hold language accountable through historical context and of course, some humor. Lynaes line for line breakdown of Jackie Hill Perry’s video puts things in perspective while Sim holds space for all religious and spiritual practices.

Freaknik Aunties
*Trigger Warning* This episode involves graphic discussions of sexual violence that may trigger victims or sexual assault or violence. | On today’s episode we get into talks about the upcoming Freaknik documentary by Hulu and how The Wildest Party Never Told was probably the cringiest picnic that we have many questions about.
