Hoppy Meals

This week Colin has crafted Chocolate Whiskey and Beer Cupcakes (from the Smitten Kitchen blog) and discusses the importance of the balance of a dish and measuring in baking, we're both drinking Braunem Mantel and Wielki Lubelski from Two Plumbers Brewery and Arcade (Two-for-one this Episode!). Our meal was supplied by the delicious and traditional, Apollonia Mediterranean Greek Restaurant off Gravois. And we hop through talks of drum cores vs. marching bands, finding a significant other smarter than yourself, intertubing across the ocean, and Greek-French Fries.

Hey lovebirds, Hoppy Valentine's day! Snuggle up with your Beau (or Beer!) and throw on this episode of your favorite bi-monthly podcast. We're satisfying our sweet tooth this week by nibbling on an Italian tri-color cookie, Florentine cookies, and both London fog and house-special cannoli's from Piccione Pastry. We're drinking the American wild ale "Katy" from Second Shift, and eating a Greek lemon chicken and potato dish made by Colin. Drumroll please, this week only, a highly-anticipated conclusion to a long-running segment, Terrance the tea dwarf, the Second Shift Cask Festival and the low-calorie version of Minnesota; you'd better tune in!

This week we're drinking Christmas Ale from Breckenridge Brewery, eating some chocolate covered cherry cookies baked by Anthony, and visiting Gioia's Deli and Eovaldi's Deli for some delicious sandwiches. We also discuss our family cookie traditions, a questionable word of the week, and Colin and Anthony get in a bit of a tiff. (It gets resolved- don't worry!)

This week we taste test the delicious shakes from Beyond Sweet on Delmar and pair the Mosaic Session IPA from Blue Point Brewing Company with a Homemade Rigatoni pie. We also go on a tangent of Anthony's lack of childhood video games, the many varieties of hops, and Rigatoni Ala Toni.

This week Colin makes a lovely Orange Zeppolas with chocolate hazelnut dipping sauce, paired with an Old Town Porter from Narrow Gauge Brewing Co, and we try out Soulard’s Ninth Street Deli. While there we answer questions like “Do our moms listen to the podcast?”, “ What is a Milk Snack?”, and “What Root Beer did you drink growing up?” Stick around till the end for a preview of the next episode!

This week we try Liquid Wet Hop IPA from 4 Hands Brewing Co, Pharaohs Donuts for dessert and Colin crafted a Pasta Carbonara for our main! We chat about name pronunciations, types of hops (Anthony’s done forum research), a bit of 4 hands history and their involvement in the STL brewing scene, and the 4 Step Pasta Diet™.
