Horror and a Half

Halloween season is starting to kick off! You can tell, because we chat about our recent trip to Halloween Horror Nights (along with a killer mascot and another boring mummy). Then! We go to late aughts Australia to talk about Lake Mungo! Join us for spirit photography, the ethics of psychics, and the hotness of actor dads.

Kelly has some tales of scary solitaire, monster mashes, and evil tapes, while Rose has returned to both a not-so-scary Halloween party AND Silent Hill - how's that for range? Then we take ourselves to an abandoned sleepaway camp to discuss Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma! Join us as we discuss engaging with slasher movies, pitch meetings that go perfectly, and so much gummy candy. The thing you need to know is: there's a hole at the bottom of the lake where the podcasts come out...

Well, the beginning's normal, we're talking invisible men and the end of that Burbs tv show, but the main topic is a local event we attended: a 5th anniversary celebration here in St. Pete called the Summer Slasher Slumber Party! Settle in for a late night marathon with us as we discuss the surprising storyline, the skits, the programming errors, and talk about The Slumber Party Massacre, Pieces, and Friday the 13th 6!

We're checking in with Martha's Vineyard, before moving on to New Orleans (vampires), the Caribbean (zombies), the internet (uh... ghosts?), and where ever a hungry baby might live. Then it's time for a chill family hang with Evil Dead Burn! Join us for all the stabbings you could want as we discuss missable Easter eggs, kicking your son around like a soccer ball, and breakthrough in deadite-based dementia treatments. 

We hit a double dose of conversion therapy horror this time, so, uh, whoops? We also talk about a Technicolor Phantom and tease some killer farm animals, so hopefully you're pleased. Then we're heading back to a franchise we haven't watched in a bit and checking in on The Forever Purge! How's that purging going? That bad, huh??? Join us as we tame a horse, split up a lot, and fail to learn many characters' names, and yet in spite of everything we are forced to ask: is The Forever Purge the most prescient movie of all time?

Some monsters meet, some ghosts haunt, some assassins fight, and we spend a possibly silly amount of time discussing, you guessed it, A Christmas Carol. Then we're smearing blood on our computers and vlogging for no one as we discuss We're All Going to the World's Fair! There's always more Universal monsters, and teenage wolf television, and... radioactive snake arms? I am being told that there's actually NOT a lot of radioactive snake arms, my mistake. Then we're back to theaters to discuss Hokum! Take a miserable Irish vacation with us as we discuss drugging goats, whether we can be trapped in a room, and thieving witches.

We've got a wild one for you this week! Kelly has a brand new mummy to tell you about, Rose has a bug nuts YA novel, and we both have a haunted subway station that we're ready to just leave! Then we have a real solid chuckle at the expense of 2025's The Carpenter's Son! Huddle in a cave house with us as we discuss tree weirdos, bizarre marriages, Jesus brain blitzing someone, and Snake Snacks. (Once again, there are some audio issues in the episode, apologies.)

We're still alive! At least as I write this! Anyway, we have some invisible women, and mean mall women, and hit and run women to talk about before we talk about another Satanist fighting woman with They Will Kill You! How -does- March end? We try and figure it out as we discuss disappointing novels, mummy sequels, and circling back to The Bride! Then, we keep hanging out in the theater to discuss Ready or Not 2!
