The new and improved HMT podcast will deliver the cold, hard, ugly truth to women -- because like it or not...we need to hear it. We’ve all been around this person: they appear nice, helpful and giving, but in reality their actions actually have nothing to do with you at all, they have to do with them getting praise and attention. The help they offer is sometimes even used as a bargaining chip or emotional blackmail and if you don’t accept it, or don’t like it, all hell will break loose. We have tips on how to recognize a resentful martyr and how to manage a healthier relationship with them.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Fighting 101 (Part 2) 5 Questions To Prevent A Conversation From Turning Into An Argument
This episode was inspired by an instagram feed dedicated to helping people have healthier communication, called happy couples connect. We’ve all felt triggered during heated conversations with our partners, and that’s when we usually make it about the other person: it’s because of THEIR tone, or THEIR timing. The truth is most of us are operating out of fear and we either get defensive, use harsh words, or shut down without trying to understand the other person. We go over the five questions you can ask yourself, before a difficult conversation turns into knock-down, drag-out fight. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Killer Mom Trial, Prosecution Closing Arguments: Lindsay Clancy Killed Her Kids To End Her Own Misery
The prosecution began its closing arguments by acknowledging Lindsay Clancy was mentally ill, but pointed out that she had an “abundance of help” and was in a privileged position. Prosecutor Jennifer Sprague told jurors that Clancy lied to health care providers, lied to her husband, friends and family., telling them she was getting better. Sprague at one point, even made a comparison to Andrea Yates, saying Yates tried to commit suicide twice to try and protect her children, until the judge intervened. The prosecution ended by saying Clancy left her children “discarded on the basement floor, like broken toys, because she was done playing the game.”See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Dethroned Miss NC USA Sues Pageant Organizers, Claims N-Word Is “Popular Slang”
WOW. Not only did the dethroned Miss North Carolina NOT apologize for using the N-word, or any other offensive previous social media posts, she claimed her right to use the racist slurs because her great grandfather identified as black AND because it’s popular slang used by Beyonce and other artists. In her new lawsuit, which is a hell of a read, Brittany Boltinhouse claims pageant officials “maliciously coordinated to publish a narrative portraying her as a racist, homophobe, transphobe, and intolerable bigot.” She takes zero responsibility for her past actions, and instead is asking for an unidentified sum of money for her “excruciating reputational destruction.”See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Karmelo Anthony DENIED A New Trial
This weekend, a Texas judge has denied 18-year-old Karmelo Anthony a new trial after explosive revelations came out about a “gentleman’s agreement” between the prosecution and the defense. Both sides agreed to keep out incendiary past behavior by both Anthony, and his murder victim, Austin Metacalf that led up to the altercation at a high school track meet that ended with Anthony stabbing Metcalf in the heart. Anthony’s lawyers have vowed to continue their fight, arguing Anthony wasn’t able to take the stand in his own defense because the prosecution reneged on part of their verbal, backroom deal. Fat Jokes, Trans Attacks, IQ Insults: And This Was Trump’s Kinder WHCD Address?!
The President spent roughly an hour on the dais, finally giving that much anticipated speech to the very group he spars with daily, the members of the White House correspondents association. Even though he said last night’s speech wasn’t as much of a “doozy” as his original speech he planned to give back in April, he still delivered cutting, offensive remarks aimed at some of his familiar foes. The president went after at least one member of this cabinet and made a few, rare self deprecating jokes that landed.
