We continue to be on verdict watch as 9 women and 3 men continue a second day of deliberations, with no verdict as of yet. Earlier today, Lindsay Clancy’s defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, told reporters the jurors asked to see the bag of empty pill bottles found in Clancy’s nightstand, as well as the bloody knife she used in her suicide attempt. The prosecution began its closing arguments by acknowledging Lindsay Clancy was mentally ill, but pointed out that she had an “abundance of help” and was in a privileged position. Prosecutor Jennifer Sprague told jurors that Clancy lied to health care providers, lied to her husband, friends and family., telling them she was getting better. Week two of the Tupac Shakur murder trial begins today, after a week of explosive testimony ranging from former gang members to law enforcement, Duane Davis is the first person to be held criminally responsible for the 1996 murder. This weekend, a Texas judge has denied 18-year-old Karmelo Anthony a new trial after explosive revelations came out about a “gentleman’s agreement” between the prosecution and the defense.   Both sides agreed to keep out incendiary past behavior by both Anthony, and his murder victim, Austin Metacalf that led up to the altercation at a high school track meet that ended with Anthony stabbing Metcalf in the heart. The man who pleaded guilty last summer of the brutal campus killings of four Idaho college students, now claims he was coerced into pleading guilty for the crimes. Bryan Kohberger, who is currently serving four life sentences, filed a handwritten petition to the court on Monday asking for a trial, after he claims he was forced by his attorneys into making a false plea to avoid death row. The President spent roughly an hour on the dais, finally giving that much anticipated speech to the very group he spars with daily, the members of the White House correspondents association. The family of 18-year-old Nolan Wells announced that independent autopsy results list Nolan’s cause of death as “undetermined.” The autopsy, conducted in Washington D.C. and outside the jurisdiction of Mississippi officials, was also unable to determine the time or even day of his death. It was a stunning reversal in just 24 hours.  The FDA has publicly admitted it made a mistake, and the lettuce supplier to Taco Bell claims it’s even apologized to them, after it now says it has not found any confirmed source to the biggest cyclospora outbreak in the history of the United States.  The agency has announced that lab experts “re-reviewed” sample results and determined that the Taylor Farm lettuce tested for cyclospora showed a “false positive” result for cyclospora.  So now what?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Tonight, 74-year-old Dennis Sochor is set to die by lethal injection for the 1982 rape and murder of an 18-year-old girl he met on New Year’s Eve. Even though Sochor confessed to the crime, he never revealed where he left her body. To date, Patty Gifford’s body has never been found and the family has been tortured by that fact, in addition to waiting 44 years for Sochor’s execution. Still, there are many who believe it is cruel and unusual to execute elderly inmates, and this is just the second in a series of three executions in Florida that are setting records, each inmate older than the next. A Florida couple thought they could dip down to the pool and have a drink while their young kids were in cribs upstairs at their Key Largo Resort over the Fourth of July weekend. It was an eye opening day of testimony in this week’s preliminary hearing for Tyler Robinson, who is facing the death penalty for the public assassination of Charlie Kirk on an Utah campus last September. Robinson’s former partner and roommate sat down with prosecutors in a pre-recorded interview played for the court on Thursday where he detailed Robinson’s behavior before and after the murder. We are waiting for Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner to make it official, now that key supporters are lining up, publicly urging him to drop out of his race to unseat longtime Maine senator Susan Collins. Platner posted a 2 minute video denying explosive, new allegations from a former girlfriend who claims Platner raped her back in 2021 after showing up, uninvited to her home, violent and drunk. Platner cancelled multiple public events over the weekend and announced that he is taking time to reflect on the best path forward, while maintaining his innocence. The updates just keep on coming as we get down to the final hours before the United States faces off against Belgium in the round of 16.  FIFA has officially denied Belgium’s appeal to its decision allowing U.S. star Folarin Balogun to play in tonight’s game, despite receiving a red card. In response, Belgium’s football federation put out a pointed critique of how FIFA has mishandled the process.  We’ve also heard from the FIFA president, downplaying President Trump’s call to him asking for a review of the red card, and demanding respect for the committee’s decision to allow Balogun on the field tonight. It was all going so well. Perhaps the most entertaining, heart warming and fun episode culminated with a stunner of an ending. President Trump was questioned at the Oval Office about the major controversy swirling around tonight’s World Cup matchup between the United States and Belgium. Today is day one of a preliminary hearing expected to last all week for 23-year-old Tyler Robinson.  Robinson is facing the death penalty for the September 10th murder of Charlie Kirk, who was shot and killed while speaking to a crowd of 3 thousand people at Utah Valley University. Prosecutors will be laying out its evidence against Robinson, which will include a video taped statement from Robinson’s former roommate and romantic partner, to convince a judge there is enough proof to go to trial. Headlines have been popping up since Friday that Trump may consider adding Sean Diddy Combs to his pardon list in honor of our nation’s 250th anniversary. Trump reportedly wants to pardon 250 people for our 250th celebrations. On Friday, Trump pardoned 11 people, most of whom were convicted on emissions violations of the Clean Air Act, but the question remains will he pardon more in the coming days. Diddy’s release date has already been moved up at third time, to February of 2028, but he also has a pending appeal that could either vacate his conviction or drastically reduce his sentencing. Women are posting their “divorce glow ups” online and it’s become quite the viral trend. You see their before and after photos with captions like “me as a wife” and then swipe to see “me as an ex-wife” and the transformations are significant. Women look fitter, sexier and yes, happier post divorce, but the experts say it’s not cosmetic surgeries or injections, it’s physiological. It was an eventful 250th celebration of our country on Saturday. Unfortunately a mass shooting broke out on Coney Island after the fireworks display, leaving 4 children and 4 adults shot, one woman remains in critical condition this morning. Just a few miles away, the iconic Brooklyn Bridge caught fire during the massive fireworks display over the East River, firefighters were able to put out the flames fairly quickly, but it was an alarming scene in the middle of the show. Once again, the islanders are prompting non-stop conversations in our house, and after last night’s episode, a big topic was girl code. When Amora threw Jen under the bus, telling Gal that Jen was trash talking him in the dressing room, the girls on our couch were outraged about her major girl code violation.
