This design choice unlocks performance levels FAR beyond current L2s - They're deliberately avoiding large VC raises, instead focusing on community distribution through @echodotxyz ($10M raised) and upcoming NFT mint (10,000 ETH split into two 5K tranches) - The project is focused on enabling "real-time blockchain" experiences - targeting sub-250ms finality compared to several seconds on other chains, making truly interactive Web3 applications possible - MegaETH is taking an opinionated stance against interoperability, arguing L2s are competitors and that value accrues better in consolidated ecosystems rather than fragmented ones - They've built an ecosystem of interconnected projects ("Mega Mafia") during stealth, with teams co-living and building together for over a year to create native synergies - The team made a conscious choice to sacrifice some decentralization for performance, similar to Solana's approach, arguing that the market has shown demand for high-performance chains despite occasional downtime - Rather than competing with Ethereum on fees (like other L2s), they plan to capture value by enabling novel use cases that are "Only on Mega" - comparing to how people buy SOL to participate in Solana-specific activities - Testnet launches in 30 days (early March 2025), which will be the first public validation of their technical claims and architecture

He even has a YouTube channel discussing gold and silver with 51k subscribers called Rons Basement. 4 weeks ago he read an article about a meme coin and at the end of the article it stated how to create one. Out of curiosity, Ron researched and then downloaded @moonpay (more on that in a minute), put a hundred dollars into $sol and then followed a tutorial on how to get to @pumpdotfun and launch a memecoin, which of coarse, he had to name “unicorn fart dust”. The next morning he woke up, did his normal stream and told people NOT to buy it. He even sold half, which he now regrets. Over a few days a small community started organically bubbling up and Ron was red pilled into crypto, having fun interacting with the community, and learning more.
