In today's Daily Fix:The GTA 6 marketing blitz is well underway, starting with that extended look from two weeks ago, and now a tease of the game's soundtrack. Popular artists such as Future, Travis Scott, Morgan Wallen, Raul Alejandro, and more have posted images to their social accounts featuring what appears to be art from Grand Theft Auto 6. The GTA series is known for having expansive soundtracks featuring popular artists, as well as casting those artists in voice roles in the games themselves. In other news, 007: First Light on Switch 2 has been delayed yet again, this time all the way to March 2027. The PC, PS5, and Xbox versions debuted back in May of this year. And finally, the art director for Apex Legends explains how this new Street Fighter collab gave the existing characters 'thick thighs.'

In today's Daily Fix:Ever since GTA 6's second trailer dropped more than a year ago, the internet has been trying to match up the voices to any celebrities in hopes of putting together the game's cast. Well, the internet was right about one so far: Stepeh Root has confirmed he's voicing Brian in GTA 6. Brian appears to be a friend and ally to dual protagonists Lucia and Jason, and can be seen in the nearly 30-minute-long gameplay preview that dropped a couple of weeks ago. In other news, BlizzCon 2026 did not disapoint, as Blizzard revealed new entries for Diablo, StarCraft, and Warcraft, among other titles. And finally, we may have found out what the title of Lies of P's sequel is going to be.Presented by Marvel's Wolverine. Available September 15th on PlayStation 5.

In today's Daily Fix:More details are coming to light surrounding Sony's decision to part ways with Hideo Kojima's Physint project. According to reports, the game was already missing deadlines, was in danger of being overbudget, and was still years away from release. Sony has had a string of high-profile flops and cancelations—especially in the live-service space—so it seems like the company was looking to trim budget wherever it could. In other news, another Sony-related property has popped up under a different name. What looks like a trailer for the extraction shooter Fairgame$ has appeared, but under the name Project Espresso. The curious can sign up for a private playtest coming soon. And finally, we have a breakdown of all the big new gaming releases of the week.

In today's Daily Fix:Hideo Kojima's upcoming spy project, Physint, is moving from PlayStation to Xbox. Announced by Kojima, the move was apparently due to Physint's potentially cancellation by Sony, who may have been scared off by Death Stranding 2's low sales compared to the original. Xbox has now signed a publishing deal with Kojima Productions, and will now be publishing both Physint and the upcoming horror game, OD. In other news, Nintendo is giving back to their fans—sort of—by way of a sale discounting select games, hardware, and accessories like amiibo. The sale is due in part to tariff refunds Nintendo had received.

In today's Daily Fix:Apple finally joined the foldable phone trend with the announcement of the iPhone Dup, the company's first foldable smartphone. When folded, Apple claims it's about the size of a passport, and unfolded it measure around 7 1/2 inches across. The smallest storage capacity available is 256GB that starts at $1999, and goes all the way to 2TB at $3199. The iPhone Duo will officially be available on October 23rd. In other news, PlayStation Plus subscribers have a new batch of games available this month, including Ball x Pit, Date Everything! and Metro Redux, among others. And finally, a new collab is coming to Skyrim in the form of the Kallax storage unit. And it's not just a piece of furniture, it's a sentient companion that's voiced by What We Do In the Shadows' Matt Barry.

In today's Daily Fix:Nintendo has finally shown us gameplay for the highly anticipated The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, along with first looks at a new LEGO set, Zelda amiibo, a very cool replica Master Sword, and more. Unfortunately not much was shown from the upcoming Zelda live-action movie, but we did get an official logo. In other news, GTA 6's global release times have been confirmed, and U.S. gamers can boot it up starting midnight Eastern time, November 19th (meaning West Coast gamers can start a few hours early at 9pm Pacific). And finally, Capcom's streak continues with Onimusha: Way of the Sword selling one million copies so far. Capcom is now considering reviving other dormant IPs, which means we may finally get that Dino Crisis reboot.

In today's Daily Fix:Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann confirmed to The Washington Post that the game developer is not involved creatively with HBO's The Last of Us anymore. The company is still working on TLOU games, despite having its live-service title canceled. HBO's The Last of Us will be debuting its third and final season sometime in 2027. In other news, Nintendo has announced two Directs for next week: one focusing on The Legend of Zelda's 40th anniversary, and the other a showcase of titles coming to Switch 2 later this year. We're hoping the Zelda direct not only features the first gameplay of the Ocarina of Time remake, but also a footage from next year's Legend of Zelda movie. In today's Daily Fix:Rockstar Games and Sony have revealed a pair of limited edition PS5 DualSense controllers with a GTA 6 theme. One is black, the other white, and have the GTA 6 logo and other designs etched into the controllers. Both will be sold separately for about $85. Pre-orders will open via PlayStation Direct on September 10th. In other news, the final Final Fantasy 7 remake game now has a release date. Final Fantasy 7 Revelations will drop on April 8, 2027 on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and Nintendo Switch 2. And finally, Crimson Desert's first major story expansion will be available next month. It takes place after the main game has concluded, so you might want to wrap that up before diving into the new content.

In today's Daily Fix:CD Projekt RED has confirmed that, regardless of what happens with physical media on consoles, The Witcher 4 will have some kind of physical release. Sony has already announced plans to stop physical media production on first-party titles in 2028, leading many to speculate that the PS6 will be completely digital, a move that will effectively kill physical media for games. Even if The Witcher 4, which is due out sometime in 2028, won't have a disc, CD Projekt RED would still want collectors to have something physical. In related news, Sony is doubling down on their all-digital future, arguing in court that gamers do not have any reasonable expectation of owning their digital purchases from the PlayStation Network. In today's Daily Fix:The recent GTA 6 leaks have forced Rockstar parent company Take-Two to issue subpoenas in federal court. The subpoenas are requesting information from Discord and Microsoft on the 'Cyberleek' group that is behind the leaks. In other news, Microsoft's translucent green Xbox Series X may have had its price revealed, and it won't come cheap. The special edition console will retail for around €899.99, or about $900 USD. The standard 1TB Series X was launched in 2020 for $499 USD. And finally, Dave Bautista is officially confirmed to be taking over the role of Kratos in the God of War series. Ryan Hurst was originally cast and was already filming the first season when he suffered a torn bicep.

But FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki is reassuring fans that the company is not pivoting to solely PvP titles, it just so happened that development on to multiplayer games happened to progress simultaneously. In other news, 007 First Light has already moved 4 million copies in three months, and that's before the Nintendo Switch 2 version has even been released. And finally, it's more bad news for the "No Disc No Buy" supporters, as more data shows July to have been the worst month ever for physical game media sales.

In today's Daily Fix:Grand Theft Auto 6 has suffered a string of devastating leaks recently, with reportedly the full map and more gameplay being shown. The group behind the leaks, CyberLeek, has also published a manifesto railing against excessive monetization in games, and the death of physical media. The group has promised more leaks until their grievances are addressed. The leaks come a little over a week until the official in-depth reveal from Rockstar and Netflix, who will carry the livestream exclusively for six hours. In other news, Horizon Hunters Gathers, the multiplayer-centric spinoff of the Horizon games from Sony, is reportedly being completely retooled following negative player feedback. The game is not officially released and is undergoing public testing. And in related news, Horizon 3 is in development but is years away and only has a small team assigned to it.

In today's Daily Fix:Sony's first State of Play livestream since announcing the end of physical disc production went about as well as one might expect. The chat was filled with comments like 'No Disc No Buy' and similar sentiment from gamers still upset at Sony's decision to stop making physical copies of first-party games in 2028. In other news, dataminers may have found the next additions to Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. According to the leak, Doctor Strange, Wasp, Gambit, The Thing, and Daredevil might be dropping into the fighting game in the near future. In other news, Ghost of Yōtei is getting a new expansion as part of a Complete Edition. The new story content, Echoes of Sekigahara, will be accompanied by a new survival mode. In today's Daily Fix:Take-Two's CEO Strauss Zelnick claimed in an interview that preorders for the $100 Ultimate Edition of Grand Theft Auto 6 is outselling the standard $80 edition. Pricing for the game has been the subject of controvery as most AAA games are still sold at $70. In other news, Sony is releasing limited-edtiion Wolverine PS5 consoles and console covers, plus physical drive covers. A Wolverine-themed PS5 DualSense controller will also be available. Pricing varies depending on which version of the PS5 you choose. And finally, Halloween: The Game has been refused classification in Australia, and won't be sold in New Zealand. This is reportedly due to drug use in the game.

In today's Daily Fix:The cloud servers for Aliens: Fireteam Elite have been shut down, and Switch players who purchased the game no longer have access to it. Cloud versions need to be stored onto servers in order to run, and when gamers "buy" a copy, they're only buying a license to access the game, not to own the game in perpetuity. The shutdown and lack of any kind of refund or discount for the sequel have subsequently shined more light on Sony's decision to discontinue manufacturing physical game discs in 2028. In other news, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 for PS5 and Steam saw a surge in sales and player counts since the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day in theaters over a week ago. And finally, No Man's Sky is celebrating 10 years, and a comeback story of sorts since the game's disasterous launch in 2016. A new free content update, Cosmos, was also announced.

Outside of some documentaries and producing a few other projects for other filmmakers, Cameron has only made Avatar films for the past 20 years. In today's Daily Fix:FF7 Remake Trilogy director Naoki Hamaguchi isn't a fan of Sony's decision to stop supporting physical PS5 discs. Speaking at FF14 Fan Fest, Hamaguchi said it would be, quote, "a real shame for that culture to disappear," referring to physical media in games. He also said he's pushed for a physical release of the upcoming Final Fantasy 7: Revelations, but Square Enix has not made a final decision yet. In other news, Xbox Game Pass games for August have been announced, and the trial for Gears of War: E-Day leads the pack. And finally, Amazon and Dave Bautista are reportedly in talks for the star to replace Ryan Hurst in the Gears of War live-action series. In the Europe and U.K., the consoles will cost roughly a third more than their current price across all models. In the U.S. the Xbox Series S 512GB model—the lowest-end of the Series family—is now an eye-watering $499.99, the same price the higher-end Series X launched at in 2020. In the U.K., the Xbox Series X 1TB with disc drive is now £669.99 (was £499.99) and in Europe, it's €799.99 (was €599.99). The Xbox Series X 2TB model has been discontinued entirely. In other news, Nintendo has announced a new Direct focusing on the upcoming Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. The Nintendo Direct will premiere tomorrow, August 4th 7am PST. And finally, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has exceeded even the most bullish expectations in its opening weekend, making more than $360 million domestically, and a walloping $930 million worldwide. Globally, it sits just behind Avengers: Endgame as the best opening weekend of all time.

In today's Daily Fix:It's been almost nothing but bad news for Xbox and its subsidiaries ever since CEO Asha Sharma announced the great and terrible Xbox reset of 2026. But there is some silver lining to all of the chaos: Bethesda Studios head Todd Howard has announced a roadmap for the company's IP including Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, and Starfield. Confirmed are remakes of Fallout 3 and New Vegas, and the next mainline game, Fallout 5, is in development. But right now their biggest priority is The Elder Scrolls 6, which we've seen nothing of save for a teaser trailer back in 2018. In other gaming adjacent news, the God of War live-action series encountered a major setback when star Ryan Hurst suffered a torn bicep and will need to be recast. Apparently the recovery time will be too long and his 12-year-old co-star Callum Vinson will likely have aged noticeably enough for the footage not to match. In today's Daily Fix:Grand Theft Auto 6 went up for preorder a few weeks ago, and it's already sold $260 million worth of early purchases. According to analysts at Newzoo, the game is on track to hit between $3 and $5 billion dollars in the first week. Yes, that's BILLIONS of dollars in sales in Week 1. By comparison, GTA 5 made $1.15 billion in its first week at a lower price point than GTA 6 will be launched at. In other news, a player in AC Black Flag Resynced accidentally found the treasure in an upcoming in-game event, causing Ubisoft to cancel the event, while praising that player's treasure-hunting skills. And finally, an in-person Pokémon Go event in New York saw attendees sell their rare Mewtwos for thousands of dollars on eBay, much to the disgust of many fans.

In today's Daily Fix:Another casualty in the big Xbox reset of 2026 is reportedly an unannounced Halo multiplayer project. The game was in development at Certain Affinity, who is a support studio with credits on several other Halo and Call of Duty titles. Halo 5's Warzone mode was apparently an inspiration for the game, and was to be built in Unreal Engine, like the soon-to-be-released Halo: Campaign Evolved. In other news, Matt Reeves' The Batman Part 2 is being delayed to 2028 (!) which would make it about six years since Part 1 dropped in 2022. For comparison, all three of Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight movies were released in a seven-year period. And speaking of Christopher Nolan, The Odyssey will be journeying to theaters this weekend, as well as in Fortnite. In other news, fans may have criticized Ubisoft for their DLC plans for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, but that didn't stop gamers from buying them. The company has made an extra $1 million on Steam from sales of the game's DLC items. And in related news, hundreds of employees across several studios are being laid off, including those at Ubisoft's support studio in Barcelona, which had worked on Black Flag Resynced.

And finally, Disney's latest live-action remake, Moana, barely tread water in its opening weekend. Many gamers are shocked at the amount of microtransactions, with some upset that they shelled out extra $$ for digital deluxe edition of what they assumed would be a content complete version of the game. Ubisoft has heard the complaints, but it's unclear if there will be any price adjustments or "make-good" for those who bought the digital deluxe edition. In other news, Call of Duty: Blacks Ops 1 and 2 have officially been ported to the PS4 and PS5, but don't expect a comprehensive remaster. The folks at Digital Foundry have found the games to be lacking in modern technical flourishes like 4K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate (the games are capped at 1080p60). In today's Daily Fix:Obsidian is reportedly ditching Avowed 2 to work on a new Fallout game. As part of Xbox's big reset, developer Josh Sawyer, who worked as lead designer on fan favorite Fallout: New Vegas, will head a team at Obsidian focused on the next Fallout. The last mainline game, Fallout 4, was released in 2015. However, Bethesda has released the MMO Fallout 76 and helped produce the acclaimed Fallout TV series for Prime Video. In related news, id Software was not spared in the big Xbox reset, with more than half of its full-time staff laid off. The developer was reportedly working on pitches for a new Perfect Dark game, among others. The team had also recently released the well-received Doom: The Dark Ages. And finally, morale at Bethesda is shattered in the wake of Xbox's recent mass layoffs, with the remaining developers saying it will have a "substantial and cascading effect" on The Elder Scrolls 6.

In today's Daily Fix:Xbox boss Asha Sharma sent an email to employees announcing a 'significant' restructuring of the company, citing losing "64 cents for every dollar invested" in their studios in an average year. Unfortunately 3,200 employees will be laid off, starting with 1,600 today and the rest to happen throughout Fiscal year 2027. Microsoft-owned studioss Double Fine and Compulsion Games will become independent studios, while others such as Ninja Theory and Undead Labs "have entered terms to join new ownership." Arkane Studios' management will enter into consultation with its workers council on next steps. No publicly-announced games are said to be cancelled as part of the reductions in workforce. In other news, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls has been blocked in 132 countries, likely due to Sony's PSN requirements, and PSN being blocked in specific territories. And finally, DC Studios' Supergirl has crossed $100 million at the global box office in its second week, and will likely not recoup its reported $170 million production budget (which does not include the massive marketing spend).
