Top 3 Christopher Nolan Films
One of the big hits of the summer comes out this weekend and that is The Odyssey! Christopher Nolan is definitely a critically and popularly adored director and there are many people excited to see his take on the Greek epic. So, Adam and Kyrie decide to take a look at Christopher Nolan's filmography and highlight some of their favorites. Two fairly different lists, but a lot of Nolan movies are big crowd-pleasers. They also both got to the theatre with Adam seeing Olivia Wilde'sThe Invite and Kyrie giving Minions and Monsters a chance.

Pride Month, June Review, and July Preview
After a couple weeks away, Kyrie and Adam finish off Pride month by covering some queer films they've experienced and Kyrie gives a list of some essential LGBTQ+ cinema. And then diving right into recapping June and looking forward to July. They're finding this summer to be a little disappointing, but there are some fun gems here and there. They're both really looking forward to The Odyssey and there's some hope for the new Spider-Man movie, as well. Kyrie also got to the theatre for Toy Story 5 and shares some thoughts on that new release.

AvC: Brokeback Mountain (2005) and Moonlight (2016)
Back with another episode of Arts vs Charts, Adam and Kyrie honor Pride Month by watching two contemporary, quintessential gay films: Brokeback Mountain and Moonlight. They discuss some of the cultural impact of the movies and how they approach the stories differently. And Kyrie and Adam were both able to go out and catch Disclosure Day and share some thoughts on their experience, as well as talking briefly about the upcoming Toy Story 5.

Top 3 Spielberg Films
In honor of Disclosure Day, Adam and Kyrie decide to dive in to Stephen Spielberg's filmography. They each share their top 3 Spielberg movies and they also discuss their experience watching Hook and how their opinions have changed over time. And in classic cinephile fashion, they both got to the theatres. Kyrie caught the surreal, animated film Another World, out of Hong Kong and Adam was able to watch one of the horror movies that's just blowing up the box office, Obsession.

May Review/June Preview
Adam and Kyrie recap some of their theatre going experiences in May. Kyrie caught quite a few re-releases and Adam details his experience with the recent Boots Riley film, I Love Boosters. They also discuss the latest phenomenon with a couple of independent horror films blowing up the box office. Then, they dive into the movies coming out in June and June is JAM PACKED! They get into Masters of the Universe, Disclosure Day, and Toy Story 5, as well as a few of the more lesser known releases.

Mandalorian Roundup
Adam and Kyrie take their next step in their Star Wars journey with a couple episodes from The Book of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian season 3. They discuss the reversal of the final episode of season 2 and how that plays out with the characters moving forward. They then take a deep dive into the new movie, The Mandalorian and Grogu, while Kyrie liked it more than Adam, they both had complaints and speculate a bit on the franchise moving forward. Kyrie and Adam also both got to the theatre and talked a bit about Is God Is and Decorado.

AvC: There Will Be Blood (2007) and Days of Heaven (1978)
Adam and Kyrie are back with another Arts vs Charts! This time Adam chose the Paul Thomas Anderson classic, There Will Be Blood to compare with Terrence Malick's sophomore film, Days of Heaven. They compare the visuals and overall narrative structures, with Kyrie making history by saying, "it's long, but not too long." Adam also got to the theatres this past week and shares his experience with both the Billie Eilish concert movie and family film, The Sheep Detectives. And next week, they'll continue their Star Wars series by talking about the lead up to The Mandalorian and Grogu!

Studio Ghibli Part 4
Adam and Kyrie have finally come to the end of their Studio Ghibli round up. In this episode, they cover a couple of hits with Kiki's Delivery Service and, of course, Spirited Away. They also touch on some of the lesser know films with The Secret World of Arrietty, The Tale of Princess Kaguya, and When Marnie was There. And then they top it off with each of their final rankings. Adam also got out to the theatres and gives his thoughts on the new horror film, Hokum, while Kyrie caught the animated movie, Animal Farm.

April Review/May Preview
TW: Discussion of graphic sexual content in film and discussions of depictions of child sexual abuseSummer blockbusters are finally here! But first, Kyrie and Adam discuss some of the conversations and discourse around the new Michael Jackson movie. Kyrie also shares the experience of seeing Studio Ghibli's Whisper of the Heart, remastered and on the big screen. But then, they talk about the beginning of the summer blockbusters with some hot films coming out over the next month!

AvC: Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001) and April and the Extraordinary World (2015)
Kyrie and Adam come back with another Arts vs Charts episode. This time they're comparing Disney's cult classic, Atlantis: The Lost Empire with the lesser know French animated film, April and the Extraordinary World. Find out what Adam means when he says both films show evidence of what he calls "Netflix Brain, while Kyrie offers some animation nitpicks. As for what's in theatres, Kyrie dives into the Japanese animated film, ChaO, and they both look forward to the new Michael Jackson biopic.

Top 3 Space Sci-fi Movies
With Project Hail Mary becoming the latest hot film out right now, Adam and Kyrie decided it'd be fun to take a look at their top 3 space sci-fi films. Adam did a deep dive into the genre and goes a little into what that journey looked like, while Kyrie stuck with the tried and true favorites. Theatre-going was a little slow this past week, but with summer blockbuster season around the corner, there will be more than enough to talk about on that front soon!

March Review/April Preview
After a month or so of weird schedules, Adam and Kyrie are BACK! They discuss some March releases, touching on Project Hail Mary and The Bride. Kyrie also does a deep dive into the new Super Mario Galaxy Movie and how it compares to the first one. They also talk about some highly anticipated films in April, though it looks like the heavy hitters are coming out in May. Summer blockbuster season is right around the corner!

AvC: Casablanca (1942) and Past Lives (2023)
Now that the Oscars are over and the Ghibli-thon is winding down, Adam and Kyrie are back to their regularly scheduled programming with another Arts vs Charts! Adam wanted to revisit 2023's Past Lives and opted to pair it with another film about lost love, the classic Casablanca. Kyrie also got to see the new hit, Project Hail Mary and gave some thoughts. Adam is planning to see it next week in 70mm IMAX and will weigh in then!

Oscar Review
Kyrie and Adam are back with a bit of a shorter episode before diving back into the regularly scheduled programming. But they of course had to discuss the OSCARS! A few surprising moments, a few less surprising moments, and they discuss what next year might look like with it being on YouTube. They also talk about the highly anticipated Project Hail Mary coming out this weekend...possibly the first Oscar contender of 2026?

Pre-Oscars: Predictions and Opinions
Kyrie and Adam weigh in on some new releases, discussing Hoppers, Wuthering Heights, Crime 101, and Pillion. And then the get into what we all want to talk about: The Oscars! Adam is mad man and successfully watched every single film that is nominated from 2025, all 50 of them! Kyrie shares predictions, with Adam giving some input. And Adam offers perspectives on some of the lesser known films and categories. All in all, this will be an awards ceremony to remember!

Studio Ghibli Part 3
The Studio Ghibli journey continues as Adam and Kyrie just can't seem to get enough of these films! They focus on another one of the central themes throughout the studio's movies: war or, maybe more appropriately, anti-war. The get into some of the beloved classics like Castle in the Sky, Porco Rosso, How's Moving Castle, and more! And don't forget...the Oscar's are coming up fast, so get those last minute watches in and have your predictions ready to go!

Top 3 Rom-Coms
Adam and Kyrie continue with the February theme of love and romance by diving into their top 3 romantic comedies! They each have some honorable mentions that they chat about a little at first, but then they really discuss the cream of the crop. And Kyrie realizes that there's a lot of work to do in actually watching more good rom-coms. Adam also talks about some of the new releases that he caught in theaters and which ones are worth watching, while Kyrie continues to drown in schoolwork.

AvC: Pride and Prejudice (2005) and Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2019)
Valentine's Day is right around the corner, so Adam and Kyrie opted to go for a couple of romance films for our Arts v Charts picks this month. One of Kyrie's favorite romance movies is the beautifully sapphic, Portrait of a Lady on Fire, so, of course, that one had to be discussed. And it's paired with the beloved classic, Pride and Prejudice. They're also gearing up for the Oscar's, so make sure to keep your eye out for those episodes in the coming weeks!

Studio Ghibli Part 2
Long story short, Adam and Kyrie can't get enough of Studio Ghibli, so now the aforementioned "Studio Ghibli episode" is now a series of episodes where they discuss different themes. And a major theme that shows up in many of these films is environmentalism. So, they discuss Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, My Neighbor Totoro, Pom Poko, and Kyrie's personal favorite, Princess Mononoke.

Studio Ghibli Part 1
At long last...the start of the Ghibli episodes! Adam and Kyrie share some of their history with Studio Ghibli and their experiences watching them in preparation for these episodes. They also give some background on the creation of Studio Ghibli and the creators themselves. Then they dive in and share their thoughts on Earwig and the Witch, My Neighbors the Yamadas, Ocean Waves, Tales from Earthsea, and The Cat Returns.

AvC: Memento (2000) and Mulholland Drive (2001)
Adam and Kyrie are back with another Arts vs Charts and Adam really decided to dive into the deep end with their first Lynch film! Looking at Mulholland Drive and Memento, they talk about memory and dreams and how aspects of those play out in these two movies. They also spend some time talking through some fun theories, particularly with David Lynch's film. And don't forget to check out the newly released Oscar nominations!

2025 Year End Review
We are now in the new year and Kyrie and Adam are back and better than ever! Bit of a longer episode because WOW, there's a lot to cover. Adam kicks it off by giving us his overall thoughts on the new Spongebob flick. Meanwhile Kyrie decided to dive deep into the world of Avatar and has quite a bit to say on that front. They both caught one of the big awards contenders, Marty Supreme, to fill you all in on their opinions there.Then they also give a fun little year-end review. They discuss topics like "most disappointing," "favorite podcast moment," "favorite movie theatre experience," and more!

Kyrie and Adam compare and contrast 2024's animated hit, Wild Robot and Mamoru Hosoda's beautiful film, Wolf Children. They discuss the animation differences and some of the creative rendering in Wild Robot. They also dive into some story differences and how each film paints a portrait of motherhood.

Adam and Kyrie kick off talking about new releases Jay Kelly and Scarlet, respectively. Arts vs Charts: Home Alone (1990) and Night of the Hunter (1955)
TW: One of the movies discussed has themes of sexual assaultAdam and Kyrie continue the conversation surrounding new releases, all the new blockbusters and awards contenders. Adam gives his thoughts on Train Dreams, Rental Family, and Wicked. Kyrie is still drowning in school and didn't have much to offer to that part of the episode. But they also do a holiday-themed Arts vs Charts where they compare the Christmas classic, Home Alone, with the 1955 masterpiece Night of the Hunter. Two very different films, with some surprising similarities!

Frankenstein, Wicked, and Obi-Wan Kenobi
Adam and Kyrie continue their journey through Disney's Star Wars content by diving into the Obi-Wan Kenobi mini-series. Good news, it's not as bad as the sequel trilogy. Bad news, it's not quite as good as seasons 1 and 2 of The Mandalorian. But first, Kyrie finally got around to watching Wicked Part 1 and they both weigh in on its pros and cons in preparation for the release of part 2! And with awards season ramping up, they share some thoughts on one contender: Del Toro's latest, Frankenstein.

Top 3 Movie Musicals
With the release of Wicked Part 2: For Good on the horizon, Kyrie and Adam decided to take a look at their personal favorite musicals! Adam picked a classic, but then chose to highlight a couple more contemporary ones, while Kyrie chose to select a classic one, an animated one, and a modern hit. They also discuss some of the new releases and some highly anticipated awards contenders coming out over the next few weeks.

Arts vs Charts: Tar (2022) and Amadeus (1984)
Adam and Kyrie get into some well-regarded movies about famous composers (both fictional and real). Kyrie, of course, had issues with how long they both were, but Adam and Kyrie both talked about the technical aspects and the elevated quality. They also get into a discussion at the end about objectivity vs subjectivity in film and how that impacts overall viewing experience, as well as how to determine their star ratings.
