EP 276 Kelli & Anne talk US Open, their grandchild & sailing on Regent Seven Seas
Join Anne & Kelli for their 276th episode of #ilovemywife podcast recorded from HOME!!! They start the show by talking about recording early because they are heading to LA and then Japan for 3 weeks! They also honor that the episode comes out on the 25th anniversary of Sept 11th. As New Yorkers, they both discuss what it was like to live in the city during 9/11 and how they still feel the pain of it all 25 years later. They also honor all of those lost that day and all the first responders that died in previous years from their exposure at the site. Next, they get into some time they had last week at home starting with the first time they got to keep their grandson Anthony on their own! Blake & Teresa had a little date night in Nyack and they loved having him! From watching cars go by on their balcony to singing The Itsy Bitsy Spider, it was a lovely few hours! They also went to fan week at The US Open and absolutely loved it. Get all the insider info about how to see your favorite tennis stars without paying big ticket prices just by getting the free fan pass. They watched Ben Shelton, Coco Gauff and so many more just by walking from venue to venue. They had the famous Honeydeuce cocktail, ate the incredible chicken nuggets from Coqodoq and drank wine at the Clos du Bois terrace. Overall, it was a perfect and affordable day! Next, they headed out on a Regent Seven Seas cruise on The Splendor that Anne was performing on. They first flew to Saint John, Newfoundland Canada with a 3am wakeup and at 4:30am pickup! They did a quick overnight in Saint John at The Comfort Inn Plus and had a flaming sushi dinner next door at The Rock Restaurant. The next day they headed to the ship and met another fellow entertainer, Mairead Nesbitt, a celtic violinist. Hear the funny story about Kelli's confusion about what she actually did on board. They talk about how lovely the ship is and how beautiful all the suites are. Anne was so surprised to find out that an old friend of hers from Nashville in 1995, Shawn Carter, was working on board as a Cruise Consultant. It made for such a fun reunion and a lot of laughs. The rest of the cruise involved 2 shows for Anne, Anne stretching her comfort zone with some challenges while on board, lots of fun stops in Canada & the northeast with delicious seafood and fun drinks, meeting new guests & getting time with new and old friends. Finally, they answer some listener questions from Adam on Instagram and do their regular segment Neat or On the Rocks. They also remind listeners that they will be taking the rest of Sept off from the podcast while they head to Japan. Make sure to check their social media for updates along the way! The next episode will air Oct 9th and will be FULL of Japan details! Don't forget their merch store at https://sniffapickle.printavo.com/merch/ilmw/ for lots of options! EP 275 Kelli & Anne fill you in on family time, much needed friend time, how hard it can be to age gracefully & so much more!
Join Anne & Kelli for their 275th episode of #ilovemywife podcast recorded from HOME!!! They start the show by talking about revisiting the Meatpacking District in NYC where Anne had her first big photoshoot in 2010 for her first album, Strings Attached. They talk about how much the neighborhood has changed and how wonderful those memories are from that time as that is when they started dating. First, they get into some interesting time at home that involved a lot of talk about Dr's appointments & how aging is not for the weak! Anne having a gallbladder ultrasound and Kelli beginning the path of pain management care on her back that started with an SI injection and lots of struggles with insurance. They also helped their daughter get through her first major bout of jetlag after coming back from a girls' trip to Greece and laughing about how they are so used to living with jetlag that seeing her go through it was interesting. She then left to head to LA for a week so they began dogsitting Ziggy again. They also took Anne's mom out for lunch at Hudson Water Club in Haverstraw, NY. That weekend their good friends Rhonda and Rhonda came to visit and brought their dog Tinkerbell, who Ziggy instantly fell in love with! During the first day & evening they had lunch in Nyack, Kelli & Anne cooked in dinner with one of their favorite recipes chicken piccata meatballs & spaghetti with a Greek salad and they played lots of new games that included Slide & Brilliant. They next day they headed to NYC to go to The Frying Pan, a super fun restaurant/bar in Chelsea on the Hudson River, where they had lunch and cocktails and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Later that night they drove back to Nyack to try Mekong District, a really cute Vietnamese restaurant that had live music by Sour Review Band and really good food and sake. (followed by more games at home) Lastly on Sunday, they headed to Piermont (the next town over) for the Farmer's Market & brunch that included fresh banana pancakes at Otto's Full Service with live piano music. Overall, it was a super fun weekend with good friends. Next, they had Blake & Teresa over for dinner with baby Anthony who has just turned 5 months old already! He is growing fast and getting so strong and more confident. They really loved watching him play with his new toys and be more relaxed about going to each of them. Sadly, the next day Teresa's father, John Westervelt, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 59. The entire family is in shock and will miss him dearly. He was an incredible father and was such an important role model for their son Blake. Sending love to the family including his wife Marianne, their children John, Teresa, Louis, Isabella and Stephen as well as their husbands & wives & children. The next few days were spent catching up with more friends. Anne had a fun night in the city with her MD and best friend Will that started at happy hour at Dive 75 and finished with a lovely dinner at The Mermaid Inn. They also had a day of beauty with their friend/stylist Paul LaBrecque at his amazing salon and ended with homemade chicken fajitas and throwing it back with Skinnygirl Margaritas! Anne worked on her upcoming Regent cruise shows and they grilled out on their rooftop. They also spent Saturday night in the city having dinner with Laurie and Ben (a regular guest on the podcast) and their friends Mark and David at Latanzi, a classic old school Italian restaurant on 46th St, Then, they headed to Don't Tell Mama, a piano bar where Anne worked for 13 years, where they listened to live piano & incredible vocals as always! At the end of the evening Kelli had an accident leaving the parking garage and caused some pretty big damage on their recently repaired car! So it goes! They give you a rundown on what shows they watched or are watching. They are currently obsessed with Annette Benning and her recent appearances on several shows that include Lucky on Apple TV and Dutton Ranch (the spin-off of Yellowstone) on Paramount Plus. They recommend both shows and how totally badass Annette is in BOTH shows! They are also watching Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed on Apple starring Tatiana Maslany from Orphan Black. They haven't finished that one yet, so stay tuned. Don't forget their merch store at https://sniffapickle.printavo.com/merch/ilmw/ for lots of options! Plus check out their new Linktree on their IG BIO that lists all of the links to their podcast merch, shows, FB, website, etc! EP 274 Kelli & Anne fill you in on sailing to Alaska & coming home for some much needed rebooting
Join Anne & Kelli for their 274th episode of #ilovemywife podcast recorded from HOME!!! They start the show by talking about some family time before the next big trip begins. They are super excited that they have purchased a pack and play for their house and some fun infant toys for when Blake & Teresa & baby Anthony visit. They got to try it out when they came over for dinner and requested Anne's special fried shimp! Anthony is 4 months old and growing big and strong and they loved spending the evening with the 3 of them. Next, they went to dinner in NYC with their daughter Vivi and their niece Indie and took to them the classic midtown local place, Arriba Aribba. They also took Anne's Mom to lunch the next day in Piermont, NY and had a lovely time catching up with all of the family. They also congratulate Kelli's sister Claire & brother-in-law Caleb on the birth of their new daughter Marcelle Rose. They next headed out for the airport to head to Seattle and then on to an Alaska Cruise on the Celebrity Edge. It started by running into an old friend Sheila in the security line at JFK and they all got to catch up at the Delta Lounge. On board the flight, Anne had pre-ordered the Shake Shack burger and highly recommends it. They spent the night in Seattle at an airport hotel and then headed out to the Seattle port the next morning where they found the cruise terminal to be a bit of a mess. Because Anne is the headline guest entertainer, she is never sure what room she will get when on board. She was thrilled to find out it was a beautiful room with a massive window, at the very front of the ship looking out into Alaska. Anne's show was also on that first day so she met with the Stage Manager at 1pm and had a tech rehearsal with the orchestra & tech crew at 4:30pm and then had 2 shows at 7pm and 9pm. It made for a VERY busy first day but it was a relief to have that all done right away! The rest of the cruise included so many fun days & nights that started with their favorite lunch spot in Ketchikan called Crab & Go where they had a kids portion of crab legs and it was still $66! Going to the Martini Bar on board where they do a show that is very impressive, playing lots of 5 Crowns including a new Star Wars version and their friend Laurie trying to order them a Rose & a Pinot Noir and calling it a Rosetta & a Pino Niguar (because she doesn't drink). Juneau was another great stop that included Griz Bar & Tracy's Crab Shack. They also shout out their friends Eric & Kristian who repped their ILMW merch the whole week on the ship! Next came Skagway & The Skagway Fish Company where Kelli had her first Alaskan oysters and loved them. That night Anne also did a special pop-up performance in The Plaza with lots of fun dance songs and the dancefloor was full and lots of fun! Then it was time for a sea day with a sushi lunch & lots of card games & napping. The next day was Victoria, Canada and they decided to stay on board to pack and get organized & then went to the Steakhouse for dinner with Kelli's business partner Gregg. They ended the night in the Martini Bar and called it an early night as they day would start very early the next day. After debarking the ship, they headed to an airport hotel with a day rate since their flight didn't leave until later that day. After arriving at the Delta Club at the airport, they found out their flight was 90 min delayed already. Finally, they boarded the flight and headed home. Anne again had preordered the Shake Shack Burger and she shared it with Kelli. They finally landed at JFK at 2am and arrived home at 3am. The next day they unpacked, did laundry, went to the grocery and then suddenly the entire town of Nyack lost electricity. There was no storm & it was sunny outside! The rest of the evening the power flickered on and off again until it finally stayed on around 10pm. The next day they were SO excited to head back to one of their all-time favorite restaurants, Mary's Fish Camp, that has just reopened at a new location. They were so sad when it closed and couldn't wait to grab one of the first reservations now that they are back! It's now on Hudson & Jane St in the West Village, NYC and then new spot is just as charming and lovely as the last. Mary was cooking away in the open kitchen and the community felt as strong and supportive as it always has there. They have a very loyal following and you could feel the energy and love all around. Anne had the lobster knuckles (her FAVORITE) and Kelli had the shrimp burger and LOVED it! Make sure to check it out when you are in NYC but grab a reservation because you will need it! They give you a rundown on what shows they watched, are watching or want to watch. First, they talk about Ride or Die with Hannah Waddingham & Octavia Spenser on Amazon Prime. They liked it a lot and think it's a fun show plus Hannah is absolutely fire in this show. Ted Lasso is back on Apple TV and they are thrilled because they love this show! Next, they talk about Shipwrecked: Nightmare at Sea on Netflix about the Costa Concordia disaster. They watched it separately but both had very similar stunned reactions to all the behind-the-scenes footage and personal accounts. Lastly, they talk about Quarterback; Season 3 on Netflix. This is a show that focuses on different NFL quarterbacks each season and this year is Jaden Daniels (Washington), Baker Mayfield (Tampa Bay), Cam Ward (Tennessee) and Joe Flacco (Cincinnati). Hear Anne's take on who she likes and who she CLEARLY does NOT like! Don't forget their merch store at https://sniffapickle.printavo.com/merch/ilmw/ for lots of options! Plus check out their new Linktree on their IG BIO that lists all of the links to their podcast merch, shows, FB, website, etc! EP 273 Kelli & Anne talk about their trip to Rehoboth Beach & the epic RV road trip with besties Jon & Steve as they move from Nyack to Denver!
Join Anne & Kelli for their 273rd episode of #ilovemywife podcast recorded from HOME!!! They start the show by talking about Anne's birthday night that included a massive downpour in Times Square, a lovely dinner at Delos and finally seeing The Lost Boys on Broadway. Overall, it was a lovely celebration. They next about their trip to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware for Anne's 13th season performing at Blue Moon. She talks about how she was introduced to the owners Tim & Randy by Cashetta, an incredible drag queen that she met on an RSVP Cruise and how she began that journey with her Musical Director Nate Buccieri. They were excited to get extra time this year so they headed down to stay with their friends Paul and Dennis at their beautiful home. Hear about all of the fun days and nights they spent together that included a cocktail party and dinner at their country club, lunch at Blue Coast and outlet mall shopping, Aqua Bar and dinner at Jam, a beach day at Poodle Beach that included special sandwiches made by Dennis, a cocktail party/dinner hosted at the house, a fun lunch with old friends from NYC piano bar days and an annual dinner at Salt Air that included their friends Jeff & Carlos and Allen & Don. Anne's show was a huge success and was sold out! They had to get up early the next day to drive back to NY to get ready for what was coming next…. After arriving home, they unpacked, did some quick laundry and repacked to head to their friend Jon & Steve's house to board an RV they rented to drive across country for their move to Denver. They loaded up the house plants into the shower, filled the fridge and cabinets with food and drinks, got Jon & Steve's 11 yr old son Jackson all settled in and their 2 dogs, Tito and Mimosa and their friend Stephanie and they hit the road. The entire drive would take 3 days and they would cross 9 states from NY to CO. There were hilarious stories that included broken window shades that were propped up by paper towels, a refrigerator that got bounced around so much that every time they opened it everything fell out, a table that constantly fell off the track including once that spilled red wine all over Anne & Kelli. Hear about where they stopped for the nights, family meetups along the way, 90's country singalongs, 50 ears of corn acquired along the way that filled the bed on the RV, and creating memories to help move their best friends into the next chapter of their lives. They actually recorded a little segment as they began the last leg of the journey direct from the RV. Hear what each person thought was memorable from the trip in their own words. Eventually they made it to Denver! They spent one night with Steve's sister Shelley & her husband Randy and the next day they helped Jon & Steve move into their apartment. As they headed off to buy furniture for the new place, they all shared one last lunch together! Next, Kelli and Anne headed to their friend James & Alex's house for a birthday party and for one more overnight. They had a great time celebrating and meeting all of their Denver friends. The next day the headed to Denver airport and headed home to JFK. Kelli has been battling back pain, so when they arrived, she grabbed a ride on a cart that took them all the way from the farthest gate at Terminal 4 direct to the baggage claim! Total score! Once they were home, they were both so exhausted that Anne actually fell asleep on the couch. They underestimated the amount of energy it took to go from one trip direct to the RV and it definitely showed itself with total exhaustion. They did unpack, do lots of laundry AND podcasted! They also got a visit from their son Blake, daughter-in-law Teresa and baby Anthony! It was so good to see them! They also planned a dinner in NYC to see their daughter Vivi and a lunch with Anne's Mom. They again started packing to leave for Seattle and board an Alaska Cruise that is Kelli's R Family trip for the summer and Anne is headlining on Celebrity Edge. Hear all about that trip on the next episode! Don't forget their merch store at https://sniffapickle.printavo.com/merch/ilmw/ for lots of options! Plus check out their new Linktree on their IG BIO that lists all of the links to their podcast merch, shows, FB, website, etc! EP 272 Anne & Kelli celebrate Anne's birthday and talk all about their month away in Norway and The Arctic!
Join Anne & Kelli for their 272nd NEW episode of #ilovemywife podcast recorded from HOME!!! They start the show by shouting out Anne's Birthday!! Hear how they plan to celebrate on the 15th (actually the whole week because Anne LOVES a birthday!) They begin by talking about their packing insanity for their next trip to Norway and The Arctic that would last 3 weeks and range from temperatures from the upper 70s down to freezing! Plus, because the last flight was a charter flight their max checked baggage must be 50 lbs! Also, hear that while packing Anne's crown fell off! Thank goodness for their Dentist Dr Barclay coming in on a Saturday to fix it! Next, they begin the path to join Source Journeys, a gay charter company, on board an Atlas Ocean Voyages cruise from Copenhagen to Trondheim, Norway. They flew SAS Airlines from Newark Airport and landed very early in Copenhagen. After making it the hotel, Villa Copenhagen, they eventually went to lunch at the nearby Tivoli Park Food Hall and they highly recommend it for lots of food options. The next day the boarded the yacht to find their favorites Yacht Manager Jorge and Cruise Director Julie greeting them! The entire Source Team, led by owners Crag and Rafi, were fabulous in setting up the gay charter kicking off with a performance the first night by singer/pianist Victor Valdez. Anne had 2 shows and there were lots of fun theme dance parties like Ice Queens and Viking Kings, Heated Rivalry and finally a Pride Night all while they sailed through Norway and the Norwegian Fjords. Overall, it was a super fun week. They actually continued after the Source group left to begin the Reunion Cruise all lead by the President/CEO of Atlas, James Rodriguez. This was an expedition cruise to the Arctic which means that they board a team of 13 specialists in different fields all about the local environment from Naturalists to Historians to Biologists, they are all incredibly knowledgeable and they take everyone out into the waters in motorized zodiac rafts so that they can get up close to glaciers and wildlife. All of the passengers had to attend zodiac training and be fitted for parkas, boots and life vests before they could be cleared to sail out. During the first sea day they took their first zodiac trip into a fjord and later that day Anne had her first show. They also visited their first Ice Bar in Tromso, Norway, celebrated 4th of July with a big dance party and got to meet the Godmother of the Voyager, Preet Chandi @polarpreet, who is a polar explorer and was the first woman of color to complete a solo, unsupported expedition to the South Pole 3 times! She is incredibly impressive and they suggest you follow her to see her adventures to come! Their second zodiac ride was to the Samarinbreen Glacier in Svalbard and it was a wet landing onto a very rocky beach. It was actually unseasonably warm and lots of people took off their parkas while hiking around the glacier! They could also hear the glacier calving 3 or 4 times while they were exploring the beach. They had a security team surrounding the perimeter just in case a polar bear would approach! The next morning, they woke up super early to watch the yacht start into the ice field and actually break the ice. They even got to cross the 80 degree north latitude, someone only 0.0018% (roughly 150,000) people have ever done! That night was a final cocktail party and a farewell dinner. They next day, they disembarked the yacht and headed to the charter flight at Svalbard Lufthavn Longyear Airport, the world's northernmost airport. It was delayed so everyone started shopping at the gift store there and drinking beer. They overheard some hilarious quotes and laughed a lot. When they landed in Oslo, it was a terrible experience in a very long immigration line. The bags were also an issue and the taxi line was out of control. Finally, they got to the hotel, The Thief, right on the waterfront in Oslo, and it was absolutely lovely. They then went for a final dinner with their friend Lori and had king crab, martinis and champagne on the water. They ended the night on the rooftop with cocktails watching The World Cup. The next day, Anne and Kelli headed to The Munch Museum and had an amazing lunch at the restaurant at the top overlooking the harbor and the Opera House. They then walked up the side of The Opera House to the top and watched all the Norwegians enjoying the beautiful weather at the beach on the fjord right in the harbor. They ended the night very early and crashed because they had a 3:30am wakeup for a 4am pickup to the airport. They again flew SAS to Copenhagen and then on to Newark where they found immigration extremely easy. Once they were home, they knew they had to stay awake to help with the jetlag, so they went to Chili's to watched the Norway v England World Cup match but they were super disappointed that Chili's changed the nachos they always had to chicken bacon ranch stacked nachos. Kelli was devastated! They went home and crashed pretty quickly. The next day they unpacked, started laundry and watched the Wimbledon finals. Lastly, they explain what is coming next. They are packing again to head to Rehoboth Beach, DE for Anne's upcoming concert there at Blue Moon July 20th. They are staying with friends and podcast listeners Paul and Dennis! After that trip, they are hitting the road with their friends Jon and Steve in an RV to drive from Nyack, NY to Denver, CO because Jon & Steve are moving there. Stay tuned for content from the road which should be pretty epic in many ways! Don't forget their merch store at https://sniffapickle.printavo.com/merch/ilmw/ for lots of options! Plus check out their new Linktree on their IG BIO that lists all of the links to their podcast merch, shows, FB, website, etc! EP 271 Anne & Kelli shout out the NY Knicks, visit NOLA, talk about Kelli's Mom's visit to NY & so much more!
Join Anne & Kelli for their 271st NEW episode of #ilovemywife podcast recorded from HOME!!! They start the show by shouting out the NY Knicks winning the NBA Finals in 5 games after a 53 year gap from the last time they won. They talk about how exciting it is to be in NYC right now with all the excitement and joy surrounding the historic win! They catch you up on their 13th wedding anniversary celebration in NYC that they kicked off with Kelli getting a brand-new haircut called a gamine (a shaggy pixie cut). They had beers at a fun gay bar, had a lovely Italian dinner, went to Brandy's Piano Bar for some incredible music from Anne's MD William TN Hall and singing by their friends Tara and Jon and ended the evening with a happy meal from McDonald's! The next day they had a lovely Mexican lunch outside and then headed home. Later that day they took Anne's Mom to dinner and to see Devil Wears Prada 2 and they loved it. Next, they headed down to New Orleans for a quick weekend. It started by waking up at 3am to drive to La Guardia Airport to park for their 7am flight. In New Orleans they checked into their favorite hotel The Ritz Carlton and lucky for them they got an early check-in! They also got upgraded to the Club Lounge level by Kelli's amazing hotel rep Allison. After Kelli did a quick tour and lunch with Allison, they headed to visit Kelli's sister Claire, who owns Audubon Facial Plastics on Magazine Street. Claire gave them Botox and also removed a mole for Anne. After their face refreshment, they headed to lunch at Royal House Oyster Bar for Abita beers and blue crab claws (Anne's absolute favorite). They were so tired from being up so early so they just went back to the Club Lounge and played Five Crowns and had cocktails plus they watched game 2 of the Knicks/Spurs series and it actually kept them awake because it was so exciting! The Knicks won by 1 point! The next day they went to lunch with Claire and her husband Caleb, who are expecting their 3rd child in July! Anne & Kelli shared a mufalatta sandwich, a classic NOLA sandwich. Next, they headed to the Creole Tomato Festival which was a total bust. Instead, they headed to Frenchmen Street, a famous street for local live music in NOLA. They started at their favorite place, The Spotted Cat, and stayed for a couple of hours and saw 2 different bands. After that, they went to The Maison for one more set of fantastic local music. They went back to The Ritz to the Club where they were serving champagne and caviar on a cart. What a fancy way to end the evening with more Five Crowns and of course Kelli took a tub in the beautiful free-standing bathtub in their room. Unfortunately, their flight home was delayed several times. They just hung out at the Delta Lounge at the airport and watched the opening number of the Tony Awards on Anne's ipad. They were obsessed with Pink and how incredible she was in the show, especially the opening number and her performance with the cast of Chicago! When they eventually took off they were able to stream the whole Tony Awards on Anne's ipad, so big shoutout to Delta for their free wifi! Once they were home, Kelli caught up with Dr's appointments including her pain management Dr for her back and got her colonoscopy! They also began prepping for Kelli's Mom Melanie to visit! Mellie arrived and they had fun lunches and dinners in Nyack and NYC. Kelli & Mellie went to see Buena Vista Social Club on Broadway and loved it. One night the fire alarm went off at 2am and they all had to go outside until the building was cleared by the Fire Department. The next day they went into NYC again to meet for dinner with Anne's Mom Sue, their daughter Vivi and their niece Indie. It was a fun girls' dinner at La Masseria. After dinner, Mellie, Kelli and Anne went to see Two Strangers Carry a Cake Across New York on Broadway and they loved it. The next day was gay pride in Nyack and their son Blake & his wife Teresa brought baby Anthony to meet his great-grandmother Mellie for the first time. They all walked into town for Pride and then came back home for dinner and baby snuggles. The next day Kelli took Mellie to the airport for her flight but it was delayed. She was on standby for several other flights but everything was oversold. Eventually….her flight was cancelled! So, during their taping, Mellie returned! They grabbed her for a quick interview! She talks a little about her flight drama but really was a good sport about a very long day. She also talks about her trip highlights that of course included meeting baby Anthony Joel and the Broadway shows. Lastly, they explain what is coming next. They are heading off to Sweden, Norway and the Arctic, and have a luggage weight restriction so they cannot bring the remote podcasting equipment, so they will be taking a month off. The next episode will air July 17th (right after Anne's birthday on the 15th!) Don't forget their merch store at https://sniffapickle.printavo.com/merch/ilmw/ for lots of options! EP 270 Anne & Kelli celebrate their 13th wedding anniversary, the kickoff to Pride Month & so much more!
Join Anne & Kelli for their 270th NEW episode of #ilovemywife podcast recorded from HOME!!! They taped a little early, on June 1st, which happened to be their 13th wedding anniversary! They fill you in on their plans to celebrate in NYC & how they feel more love every day that passes. They also talk about kicking off Pride Month & what it means to them. First, they catch you up on flying home from Tromso, Norway via Frankfurt, Germany. The Frankfurt Airport Sheraton Hotel was super easy including all of the restaurants and bars right in the terminal. They spent the night there and, in the morning, took the tram straight to the boarding terminal where check-in and security were a total breeze. The issue came in when they arrived at passport control. The line was a mile long and not moving at all. Luckily, their friends Laurie and Ben were already in the middle of the line and let them join them. It still took 2 hours to get through the line. They are recommending that anyone traveling in Europe this summer specifically give themselves plenty of time for layovers etc. to get through passport control. Next, they talk about a little time at home amid lots of jetlag. Starting with a fun family celebration in NYC for Kelli's birthday, picking up their car after the repairs (when Kelli crashed it), Anne getting obsessed with viral Trader Joe's recipes and doing a big Trader Joe's run and dog sitting Vivi's dog Ziggy and making homemade food for him. Next, Kelli headed off to Punta Cana, DR for a Marriott Conference called Discover Cala at the W Hotel all-inclusive. She didn't know anyone attending the conference but made some new friends and also made great new connections. She explains how conferences work kind of like speed dating with suppliers that represent Marriott properties in the Caribbean and South America. Overall, she had a great time but was exhausted. While Kelli was away, Anne Stayed at home with Ziggy. She used that time to binge all the Housewives shows she was behind on, got lots of baby clothes from friends Jon & Steve to hand down to grandbaby Anthony and washed them all and got them all packaged up for their son Blake & his wife Teresa, had her mom over for a viral TikTok recipe of stuffed peppers (SO GOOD) and went to a co-op meeting with her mom and accidentally spilled an entire glass of rose wine on herself before the meeting even started! Classic! Once back together at home they had a lot more friend & family time! Starting with a last-minute layover visit from their friend Greg in Hackensack, NJ, Big Gay Brunch with their usual crew in Dobbs Ferry, NY right on the river, hanging with Anne's mom by her pool for wine and snacks, Kelli going to the back Dr for some good news on her back pain and Blake & Teresa brought baby Anthony over for his first visit at their apartment! They also catch you up on all of the TV shows they finished including Jury Duty on Amazon Prime, Imperfect Women and Friends and Neighbors both on Apple TV and The Comeback and Hacks on HBO Max. Most of all, they loved the series finale of Hacks. They will miss it so much but thought the ending was perfect and a great way to go out on top! EP 269 Anne & Kelli come to you remote from Norway!!
Join Anne & Kelli for their 269th NEW episode of #ilovemywife podcast recorded remote from Norway! First, they catch you up on the rest of their first 10 days on Atlas. If you listened to their last episode, they podcasted from Edinburgh, Scotland. They talk about hitting up a speakeasy in Edinburgh called Panda & Sons with Kelli's brother Charles, his wife Kath and Anne's Musical Director Will. They also went to Mussel Inn, one of their favs for dinner. Next, they sailed to Belfast and had dinner at another favorite, Fish City. Anne had her first show of the week that was so crowded they had to add pool chairs to the dancefloor! The next stop was Dublin, and their best friends Jon & Steve showed up in Dublin for ONE NIGHT to surprise all of their friends that were travelling on the ship! They had an amazing lunch at The Ivy and ended up doing lots of baby guiness shots at The Temple Bar. It was quite a day! Then on to Waterford, the oldest city in Ireland and then to their favorite stop of all, Fowey, Cornwall. They then sailed back to London and had a night of bad seas. Once back in London, the first group of guests disembarked so they met up with their friends Darren Styles & Tom Tillman at OXO Tower for lunch and then cocktails at The American Bar at The Savoy Hotel. Next, they talk about the next 10 days on Atlas that sailed from London to Tromso, Norway. They actually got to sail out under The Tower Bridge which is completely unique and special and doesn't happen very often. Unfortunately, that night while crossing The North Sea the seas were very rough and both Anne & Will stayed in for the night and took some medication. The next day, Kelli went with Laurie and Ben for fish & chips in Dundee, Scotland while Anne had another colitis flare up. Later that day the Captain of the ship called a meeting for everyone on board about impending weather and schedule changes. In order to keep everyone safe and avoid the worst weather, he skipped Aberdeen and sailed straight to Skavenger, Norway. Anne had a show that night but it was before the weather got really bad. At about 5 am the weather started to get more aggressive. They proactively took meclizine and Zofran to get ahead of it. The waves were between 12-15 ft and at lunch people couldn't even carry their own plates! They went to bed and slept through most of it during the day and when they woke up around 3:30pm, they were entering the fjords and the weather was calm and lovely. They loved Norway. It was Norwegian National Day Weekend so everyone was celebrating and showing their pride in their country. The bars were packed, the restaurants were filled with happy people and everyone wore red, blue and white! The weather (besides those rough seas) was absolute perfection, sunny and in the 50s with blue skies. From Bergen to Vik to Nordfjordeid to Alesund, every bit of Norway was perfection. Finally, they welcome special guest star Ben, their youngest & most traveled listener to the show! He talks about all of their time together on these on these last 20 days but also tells incredible stories from his last trip to Australia! He also gives you a little travel hack! Plus, hear about where they are all traveling together next!! Don't forget their merch store at https://sniffapickle.printavo.com/merch/ilmw/ for lots of options! EP 264 Anne & Kelli catch you up on the blizzard, NYC nights, baby watch and so much more!
Join Anne & Kelli for their 264th NEW episode of #ilovemywife podcast recorded from their home and their dining room table studio! First, they catch you up on Anne's new tour kicking off at City Vineyard. This show, Vinyl to Viral, will be the main show that she will tour with in 2026. Hear all about the workshop version of the show and the supportive friends that filled the space including their friend Sandra Bernhard and her wife Sara. Next, they talk about an overnight in NYC that included a brunch with friends Bradley & Matthew, a Taylor Swift speakeasy that was a total bust, playing cards at a rooftop bar where Kelli was overserved yet still beat Anne 3 times at Five Crowns and the next day driving their friend Greg up to Nyack during the beginning of the blizzard to take him to their favorite Irish Pub in Nyack The Olde Village Inn (OVI). Then came the blizzard that dropped 2 feet of snow but drifted so high that it blocked their parking garage so no one could leave the building. Also hear more random stories like their TV breaking and then receiving a new one that was also broken, selling sound equipment, loving the new Home Goods commercial and a birthday dinner with their friends Mark & David. Of course, they get super excited about their upcoming grandson that is due in just about 4 weeks. Their son Blake and their daughter-in-law Teresa came over for dinner and they got some quality time with the couple who are gearing up for the last-minute planning. Stay tuned for the big announcement when it all happens! Lastly, they talk about some TV shows they binged. Being Gordon Ramsay on Netflix even got them to book into his brand-new restaurant Lucky Cat at Bishopsgate when they are in London. They highly recommend this show to get a real insight into him as a parent and husband beyond just the chef. They also watched The Hunting Party on Netflix about a serial killer jail break and they give it a C+ mostly because of the way they use the FBI mega jet as a taxi. You have to see it to believe it. They are also excited that Bridgerton is back with new episodes even though this is their least favorite season so far. They also love The Pitt on HBO Max but also love that they release one episode a week so you have to actually wait for each one instead of binging them all. Finally, they get into their new segment called Tour vs Home Court. Each week they will talk about how one particular topic plays out for them when they are on the road or when they are at home. This week they tackle the topic of LIVING SPACE. Tune in every week for a different topic and always feel free to write them on social media to give suggestions of topics or listener questions as well. EP 262 Anne & Kelli talk snow storms in NY, Ft Lauderdale in chilly temps, live music, new trips ahead & so much more!
Join Anne & Kelli for their 262nd NEW episode of #ilovemywife podcast recorded remotely from their hotel room in Costa Rica! First, they catch you up on their facial recovery post-op and let you know their progress. Then they get into a very special Atlas Ocean Voyages event they were invited to at The Explorer's Club in NYC. It was all about launching a brand-new ship, The Atlas Adventurer, that has stable sails and will travel through Asia and Africa. They also headed to an after-party at The Carlyle Hotel and ended at their friend Gregg's apartment ordering McDonald's on a freezing NYC night. Next, they talk about more home time that involved a birthday party for friend & listener Laurie at a fun indoor adult only putt putt place called Swingers and dinner at The Smith in NOMAD. Then they had a HUGE snowstorm that filled their town with 19 inches of snow! They also had a fun dinner with besties Jon and Steve (owners of their merch company Sniff a Pickle) and actually made it to an anniversary party for friends Julie and Alissa where Kelli was overserved! Hear about the brilliant marketing plan by Morton's Steakhouse that Anne became obsessed with. It was called Bubbles and Bites and it was for "fry January" instead of 'dry January". It was basically a meal deal by Vueve Clicquot that included 2 sliders, truffle fries and either a glass of Vueve or a Belvedere Martini all for $23! All of the packaging was branded with the orange Vueve logos and it was delicious! It's all about the marketing because everyone in the bar was having the same meals! They also talk about watching the Live Skyscraper Climb on Netflix and how it caused too much anxiety for both of them. They did finally watch Come See Me in the Good Light, the documentary about poet Andrea Gibson and their untimely death from cancer. They highly recommend this beautiful film about a truly gifted artist that touched so many people in this world. Next they packed up for their trip to Ft Lauderdale for Anne's concert. Then hear all about the Ft Lauderdale trip that included lots of strip mall visits, a fire at a restaurant mid-meal, lunches and dinners with long-time friends, Anne's concert at Sunshine Cathedral that also included a kickass band with her MD William TN Hall and a local band all curated by drummer/podcast listener Julie Jacobs, a post-show huge line for photos with so many old and new friends in attendance and after party at Apt 9F (lesbian owned) in Wilton Manors that was so packed that they had to turn people away! EP 258 Anne & Kelli talk about decorating early for Xmas, Thanksgiving in Louisiana when part of the fam gets the flu & so much more!
Join Anne & Kelli for their 258th NEW episode of #ilovemywife podcast This episode is actually recorded from their home where they had a few days of downtime before heading off on another trip! They talk about decorating early for Christmas and when is too early? They enjoyed a little time with their son Blake setting up their BIG tree that DID fit into their new place, had a family dinner in the city at Carmine's uptown, had Chinese food & hung ornaments with Blake & his wife Teresa & watched the Packers game while packing for their big Thanksgiving trip to Louisiana. Next, they talk about shows they finished and binged that included The Morning Show on Apple TV, The Diplomat on Netflix, The Beast in Me on Netflix and It's All Her Fault on Peacock. They also are loving Tournament of Champions Holiday Edition and The Great British Baking Show Holiday Edition on Netflix. Now hear about them heading off to New Orleans! They talk about the hotel they tried for the first time, The Nopsi Hotel and how they received a $100 food and beverage credit and each got a $30 breakfast credit. That's what happens when you book through a Travel Advisor like Kelli! Kelli's brother Charles and his wife Kath joined them at the hotel for lunch and for the night ahead. They found out that Kelli's Mom Mellie had just tested positive for the flu so that was a bummer. They then went to Kelli's sister Claire's practice, Audubon Facial Plastics, and had their bi-annual Botox! After that they all went to dinner at Commander's Palace, a classic in New Orleans, and had a lovely family dinner. The next morning Charles & Kath both also tested positive for the flu and they all had to drive to Baton Rouge wearing masks the whole way in the minivan. When they arrived in Baton Rouge the flu family had to isolate and if they ever came out they wore masks as well as Anne & Kelli, because they were being extra cautious not to catch the flu because of Anne's upcoming concert and Kelli's upcoming River cruise. The following days involved many dinners, visiting family in Sunshine, Louisiana, a Packers WIN, making Mac & Cheese with Vivi and Kelli's special Green Bean Casserole, a big Thanksgiving dinner, lots of emergen-c and finally flying home with Vivi loaded up with Calvin's chicken salad for everyone! Make sure to listen to the final episode of the year where they will podcast remotely from Kelli's Christmas Markets River Cruise through Germany! BIG NEWS! EP 244 Kelli & Anne talk all about their trip to Africa!
Join Anne & Kelli for their 244th NEW episode of #ilovemywife podcast. They are so excited to fill everyone in on their recent trip to Africa! They began the trip with several nights in Cape Town, South Africa. They began at the fabulous 12 Apostles Hotel and stayed in the Presidential Suite (the same one that Lady Gaga stayed in) that was truly the most glamourous room they had ever stayed in. They went wine tasting in Stellenbosch with a private tour by The Wine Fairy, had lunch at the beautiful lesbian owned Sterrekopje Farm, and moved to the gorgeously modern Silo Hotel near the waterfront for 2 nights. Next, they packed up and headed off on safari. First, they flew on tiny planes to Maun, Botswana and then on to Savute Elephant Lodge by Belmond in Chobe National Park. They headed out on their first drive and immediately spotted 2 lionesses nursing their baby cubs. It was quite a way to kick off the safari. Over the next 2 days they saw lions, zebras, giraffes, elephants, a leopard and on and on. There was dancing, singing by the staff and beautiful dinners around roaring fires at night all surrounded by so many friends and so many new friends that they made there. Next, they again flew to on a tiny plane (12 seats) to Eagle Island Lodge by Belmond on the Okavango Delta. This was a completely different vibe as this area is wide open wetlands and the animals and free to roam anywhere they want, including on the property. On these drives they saw so many hippos, elephants, crocodiles, baboons, giant male lions and so much more. At this property they had their own dipping pool at their luxury tented room and had some relaxing time one afternoon to enjoy it while watching impalas and zebras come to have water. They had a surprise helicopter ride over the delta and were treated to special sundown cocktails every night at different locations on the property. They then flew back to Cape Town so Kelli and the rest of their group could attend their LGBTQ Advisory Board Meetings for Belmond at the truly incredible Mount Nelson by Belmond. They call it the Pink Nellie because the entire property is pink! There were meetings, cocktail parties, paint and champagne, a surprise jeep trip for all of them to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve to a place called Veld and Sea where they learned about sustainable living and foraging food. They then had a lovely lunch, botanical cocktails and were treated to a truly inspiring performance by a group called Hot Water. When the meetings ended, they moved to another hotel Cape Grace on the waterfront. They did a half day tour and visited Table Mountain, the vibrant Bo-Kapp neighborhood and finished with shopping at The Water Shed. For the last night they moved to another hotel called Cape Cadogan, that is a gorgeous boutique hotel just off of bustling Kloof Street. It was a great place to end a VERY busy trip. Next, they start a new segment called Travel Hacks. Every episode they will each give one of their favorite travel hacks. This week Kelli talks about apple air tags and Anne talks about choosing an airline and staying loyal so you can earn valuable travel perks and upgrades. EP 234 Kelli & Anne head to Louisiana for the Thanksgiving holiday!
Join Anne & Kelli for their 234th NEW episode of #ilovemywife podcast. They are again podcasting from home! They start by wishing a happy birthday to Anne's Musical Director and bestie Will. They wish him the best day and year ahead and can't wait to continue to travel the world with him. Before getting to the holidays, they first talk about going to see the movie Wicked! They went to the IPIC theater at Fulton Street in Manhattan that serves drinks and food and had the most amazing time. They loved the movie and the performances and highly recommend it to everyone! Now they get to heading down to Louisiana for the Thanksgiving holiday. They started in New Orleans where they stayed at their favorite hotel there, The Ritz Carlton. They love the club level there and all of the fabulous holiday decorations. They had wonderful lunches and dinners with Kelli's brother Charles and sister-in-law Kath, got Botox from Kelli's sister Claire at her practice, Audubon Facial Plastics, and had a family dinner at Peche. Next, they headed to Baton Rouge for the first Thanksgiving since losing Kelli's father Joel. They knew it would be an emotional trip but it felt so good to be surrounded by their huge family. Every night was a different theme dinner night from Lebanese to Mexican. Thanksgiving Day started with the Macy's Day Parade and then a lunch in the country at Kelli's birth father Charles' home surrounded by that huge family with lots of young children to enjoy. They then headed back to Kelli's Mom Melanie's house for their traditional Thanksgiving dinner. This was where Joe's presence was missed the most as he always carved the turkey, did the blessing and led a circle up with everyone saying what they are grateful for that year. Melanie did a great job leading the prayer and saying something beautiful to honor Joel. After dinner we all watched the Green Bay Packers win to make the night end in the absolute best way! The rest of the weekend started with the cousins annual Black Friday shopping trip. While they were away, Kelli's brother Charles made his delicious Chicken and Andouille Gumbo for dinner that night. It also happened to be their daughter Vivi's 22nd birthday and Charles' 55th birthday so they had a cake after dinner. Now that all the cousins are young adults, they decided to take Vivi out for her birthday and lucky for her, our son Blake offered to be the sober driver. They all had quite a night and Blake and his wife Teresa ended up being more of babysitters than they expected. Needless to say, everyone but Blake was totally hungover the next day. They all headed to the airport on Saturday with some flight delays, but even so, they were happy to be back home again. Finally, they talk about what comes next for them. Mostly they are excited to be home now through the holidays. They will start packing for their big move after Christmas and they are not looking forward to that. Anne also talks about her next concert that is coming up in Ft Lauderdale at Sunshine Cathedral on Feb 1st. You can find all of Anne's tour dates and info at www.annesteele.com If you want to join them on a gig trip, email Kelli at [email protected] For more info on Kelli's trips go to www.kelligreggtravel.com As always you can stream on the DNR Studios app or you can listen anywhere you get your podcasts for free! Join Anne & Kelli for their 233rd NEW episode of #ilovemywife podcast. They are again podcasting from home. They start by addressing their feelings post-election and their disappointment in the direction that our country continues to go. They have taken a break from the news and are focusing on staying connected to their friends and family that continue to support each other in these complicated times. They also talk about rallying for mid-tern elections in 2 years and how important every single election is and that we must always VOTE. They talk about Kelli's travels to Baton Rouge to visit her mother and to have all of her favorite foods like shrimp po-boys, marinated crab claws and char gilled oysters. Next, she headed to Las Vegas to attend the Signature Travel Conference at The Venetian Hotel. Between seeing good travel friends, making amazing new connections and speaking at an LGBTQ Travel Symposium, it was a very successful trip. Next hear about what Anne was up to while Kelli was away. First, to feel better post-election, Anne decided to get a head start decorating for Christmas. She also went shopping and to lunch with her mom, had a Christmas show rehearsal with her Musical Director Will which included a Mexican dinner out, drinking at a local dive bar and a massive hangover the next day! Don't forget Anne's upcoming annual Christmas show on Dec 4th at Green Room 42 in NYC. There are also LIVE STREAM tickets if you aren't in NYC. Once they arrived in Palm Springs, they checked into the new Thompson Hotel that is absolutely stunning and had diner at Tac/Quila. Next an after-party at Boozehounds, a brunch the next day at EIGHT4NINE, boozy shopping at Just Fabulous Palm Springs and dinner at Workshop. Finally, they flew home through delays and a very bumpy flight. After getting to sleep at 3am they both made it to their Dentist appointments, even against Kell's will. Finally, they talk about reaching out to listeners and social media followers about their favorite small businesses to support this holiday season. Starting with Quix Chocolate, check out this Belgium chocolate shop based in Detroit and owned by an amazing gay couple, David and Tony. The chocolates are authentic, delicious and beautifully packaged. www.quixchocolate.com Next, check out Sniff a Pickle, a specialty customized merchandise store owned by their besties and husbands, Jon and Steve and based in Nyack, NY. They also have an online store and have their own line of specialty pickles too! www.sniffapickle.com Last week they talked about their former podcast guests, Gillian and Kim, that own the Asheville Bee Charmer. They lost both of their stores during Hurricane Helene and they could definitely use some support. Their online store is still open and it's the perfect time to grab some gifts or stocking stuffers and support a lesbian owned business. Check out their favorite, the firecracker honey! www.ashevillebeecharmer.com Many of you reached out about Dapper Boi, a body-inclusive apparel line founded by married couple Vicky and Charissa. EP 231 Kelli & Anne talk about loss and how to keep going through it all
Join Anne & Kelli for their 231st NEW episode of #ilovemywife podcast. They are again podcasting from home. This is a little bit of a heavy episode because they have been through a lot this past week. Kelli's father Joel Safer passed away on Oct 9th. They were able to make it to Baton Rouge in time to be there when he passed unexpectedly. Anne was holding his hand when he slipped away peacefully without pain. This is a terrible loss to the family and to Kelli's Mother Melanie. The good thing is that all of the siblings and their husbands and wives gathered together to support each other. Also, Joel gave his wife and children an amazing gift by planning his own arrangements. It really helped the family because it is so hard to think of planning when you are grieving. Overall, they are so lucky to have an amazing family and an awesome group of friends to help support each other though all of it. Next, they talk about losing their friend Gavin Creel. He was not only a brilliantly talented, Tony winning Broadway star and singer/songwriter, he was a kind, loving and incredibly supportive human. The world has lost a bright light that was gone way too soon at the age of 48. They will never forget the impact that Gavin made, not only on their lives, but on the world. May we all live the way he lived. They talk about finding a new apartment in Nyack, NY, their connection to that town via family and close friends and attending a fundraiser for the 45th Anniversary for the Center for Safety and Change, and organization that supports women and children in crisis in Rockland County, NY. Their friend, and former podcast guest Steven Carroll, is the Director of the Sexual Assault Forensic Examination Program at the Center and invited them to purchase tickets at his table for the fundraiser. They were so glad they attended because they were able to contribute to a cause they believe in and to help support women in their new community. They also talk about some lighter topics such as traveling to Cancun for a site visit at the Hilton All-Inclusive, family visits like dinner with their son Blake & daughter-in-law Teresa at Razza in Jersey City, driving to Delaware to take their daughter Vivi to lunch and having Anne's musical director Will over for dinner and rehearsal for Anne's upcoming Christmas show in NYC on Dec 4th and her show in Palm Springs on Nov 16th. They also chat about new haircuts, Instagram viral dinner options, their current TV binges, Anne's upcoming Oceania Cruises gig and finally the upcoming election on Nov 5th! Everyone please volunteer, donate and most importantly VOTE!
