End Plastic Pollution is a waste management organization that started in Uganda and focuses on the intersection between people, the environment, and the economy. The app uses cryptocurrency for payments to facilitate worldwide integration. A young activist, Nicholas Omonuk has done much work in a few short years to raise awareness and build climate justice.He has seen and lived the impact of climate changes from the front lines. He grew up in a pastoralist family in Pallisa, Eastern Uganda. He comes from the Iteso tribe, where boys take care of livestock and girls search to find water.In December 2022, Nicholas represented the Most Affected People and Areas (MAPA) at COP27 alongside prominent young activists. Thomas Vander Wal, well-know technology expert, is the creator of the term “folksonomy” where people define their personal categories for words (versus organizational, official taxonomy).
