Scott Stewart on Forgiveness
Scott talks about forgiveness. We need to forgive others so we can let go of the anger and hurt they caused us. You have to want to forgive and then you can. Anything is forgiveable if you hold the right belief about what it is and who it is for. Scott had a HUGE one to forgive. Forgiveness is not for others, it is for you. When we forgive someone we aren't letting them off the hook. They are still accoutable. Forgiving doesn't change the past. It does change the future since you aren't carrying the anger. Forgive and forget doesn't need to happen. After forgiving you will still probably remember it. Forgiveness is not a one time thing. You may have to do it many times until you get it into a safe place inside of yourself. After you forgive someone you are not required to trust or let that person back into your life. Forgiveness is a choice.
