A lifelong cineaste and third-generation monster maker, Barney was quite literally raised in and around the world of movies, acting and special make-up effects. When he was just 9-years-old, his father turned him into a giant rat for The Food of the Gods. At 11 he was covered in slime to be a pod-person for Invasion of the Body Snatchers and then posed for the child-like aliens for Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind.At the age of 14, he took his first acting class and, at the same time, started officially working in his father’s make-up fx studio. As a young adult, Barney split his time designing and creating monsters and dead people as well as continuing to pursue an acting career. He accepted bit parts in films he was doing make-up for, such as From a Whisper to a Scream, Circuitry Man and Adam Simon’s Brain Dead, to name a few.In the early 1990’s, Barney studied with the great acting teacher, Sanford Meisner, while producing and acting in small theater around LA. In 2004 Dan moved to Los Angeles,  and has worked in various roles, such as locations, art department and production.  Most recently Dan has been active as a Production Manager or Supervisor for the forthcoming feature films, QUEEN OF THE RING,  VAMPIRES OF THE VELVET LOUNGE, and CODE 3.
