    President Donald Trump delivers remarks at the signing of two proclamations dismantling national monuments in Utah. With the proclamations, Trump reduced the size of the Bears Ears National Monument and the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. In doing so, he said he was "terminating" both monuments. Trump also eliminated the Bears Ears Commission, which had been established to recognize the role of tribal nations in managing Bears Ears. The signing took place at the White House in Washington, D.C., on July 13, 2026.
