Informatically Speaking is the official podcast of the American Nursing Informatics Association (ANIA), and was originally produced by the Greater Delaware Valley Chapter of the American Nursing Informatics Association (GDV-ANIA) with host, Constance McLaughlin MBA, BSN, RN-BC.     Join host, Constance McLaughlin as she has a conversation with Dr Craig Joseph  in a discussion about Human Centered Design.   Craig Joseph, MD, FAAP, FAMIA is the Chief Medical Officer of Nordic Global, an international healthcare management consulting firm. Craig has 30 years of healthcare and IT experience. In addition to practicing medicine as a primary care pediatrician, he worked for Epic and has served as Chief Medical Information Officer at multiple healthcare organizations. While at Epic, Craig was instrumental in building what is called the Foundation System. He also assisted in the implementation and optimization of the electronic health record for Epic customers across the United States and Europe. After leaving Epic, Craig served as CMIO at Agnesian HealthCare, Texas Children’s, El Camino Health, and Seattle Children’s Hospital. Dr. Joseph is the co-author of “Designing for Health: The Human-Centered Approach,” a book that promotes the intentional application of design to the particular needs of clinicians, hospital staff, and patients. Craig is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Informatics Association.
