Symbols have always been humanity’s silent language.Long before words, meaning was seen—etched into temples, carried through art, and passed across generations.They speak where language falls short, reaching beyond intellect into something deeper within us.The most powerful truths are often the ones never spoken—only felt.

Allow me to share the greatest acknowledgement of my art I have ever received.It became my greatest teacher. It reminded me that skill may open doors, but character determines whether you stay in the room.⁠

Where language often falters, art speaks fluently — beyond borders, beyond time, beyond the veil of the seen world.To create art is to give. To witness art is to be transformed. Therein lies the exchange.

Before machines, before pigments, there were prayers. My work is a continuation of the ancient art of storytelling—tattooing not for trend, but for truth. Let me share how I invoke the old ones in every line I create.

For ages, humans have used myths and folklore to express human stories and create space for the unknown through fantastical and surreal lenses. Stephanie's body of work is inspired by the fairytales and folklore of her Japanese heritage. Additionally, with the use of anthropomorphic creatures like foxes, crows, snakes, and black cats, the personal narrative is a means to connect with the world at large.
