Episode 30: In this episode, we speak with artist @typcollection and we have an epic conversation about his path to art, the art of inspiring through his work and his latest artwork at the time "D I S T A N C E" a visual narrative. Troy Murray a.k.a. TYP is a multidisciplinary artist based out of both metro Detroit and Los Angeles. He works in a variety of mediums, typically blending painting with fabrication and 3-dimensional elements. He specializes in what he calls "alternative canvas", where he uses 3-dimensional objects to create his substrate and paints subjects that correlate with them in order to bring a story to life in a unique way. Beyond expressing his creativity, he uses art as a charitable platform and a way to make an impact in the world, whether it’s through teaching art to children in countries across the globe, or donating a portion of every piece of work he does to the Premier foundation based out of Greenville, SC. ⁠

He is an incredible artist who never does interviews, doesn’t show his face and sometimes deletes all socials to take himself away from front when noise. Inspired by fashion magazines such as vogue and the ironically today there is a vogue challenge. Artist Replete launched in September 2017 with the sole focus of giving up and coming artists a unique platform to display and sell their work. It was created with a sense of philanthropy and an industry disrupter within the art business. Its distinct design offers a more lucrative commission structure than most galleries are able to compete with. This, in turn, gives each artist we collaborate with the ability to make more per transaction compared to the current art gallery model.

In this episode, we speak with artist Chuck Styles. We have a powerful conversation about George Floyd, art, black culture and what we must do to overcome and grow, family and hustle. CHUCK STYLES is a multidisciplinary artist based out of the Philadelphia area and born in a small suburb outside of West Philadelphia. In this episode, we grab a chat with artist David Kaye. David served as a soldier in The Royal Dragoon Guards and completed tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was able to offset his thoughts between patrols by drawing. In 2012 he terminated hid service and was diagnosed with PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). He used his passion for art to help him overcome some demons that followed and painting helped me defeat them. He has always had an interest in fine art, however, his greatest passion is cartoons. As a self-taught artist, he wanted his paintings to reflect the images that you would see on your TV screens, but with the added effect of a little bit of realism and some nice bright colours are thrown in.

In this episode, we sit down with Kirsty Latoya and talk overcoming mental health, through her art, empowerment and poetry. She is a 20-something-year-old, artist from South London who specialises in digital illustration. She concentrates on important issues such as mental health through her art. Kirsty taught herself digital art in December 2014 by experimenting with drawing apps and programs. Kirsty started drawing with styluses but liked the freedom of her finger more. She now paints on her iPad using her finger as a stylus.

Welcome to the Art Meets Culture Podcast!!! We're joined by Stuart Worsell who is a 29-year-old artist from Kent, UK. We talk about sneakers, working with Chris Brown and his Black Pyramid brand and his legacy as an artist. From an early age, he has been fascinated with bright and bold colours, creating predominantly from the imagination which usually leads to new and very different results. Over time he honed this style of raw imaginary creativeness with experiments using mixed media which resulted in the signature art that exists today. Stuart has formed a following which can recognise the work he produces immediately and has a long line of commissions. Currently working on future projects he strives to leave his bright and unique mark on the industry.
