Intelligent Breaks Mixes

Appologies for the delay in new episodes....I am considering using my nubreaks recordings for the podcast, you will get twice as many tunes :) Anyway, this is a mix I was asked to do for the Future Breaks Live show on NSB radio. It was a bit of an honour to do this so I had to pull out all the stops :)

Another progressive as hell mix this week, hope you enjoy it!

Here is the latest episode....I seem to swamped with quality tunes at the moment, so its happy days :) Felt like a decent mix as I was doing it....you be the judge.

This weeks mix is a special one...... After my OulawBreakz mix the other week I asked the host In5tall_exe to do a guest mix for this podcast, and hes stolen the show! This mix will blow you away! Tune in 1st and 3rd Tuesdays 7-9 GMT on Nubreaks.com Radio for his regular show.

Good job I had a week working on that gust mix...tunes have been lack lustre to say the least. Managed to cobble something together from two weeks worth of tunes...Ended up with 4 tunes by Geon, so good fortnight for him :)

This is the guest mix i did for the OutLawBreakz show on Nubreaks.com Radio.... It is two hours long so bear with the download.... A massive shout goes to Install.exe for having me on the show! Thanks matey.

This weeks mix ended up being progressive as hell, purely due to the tunes that I found last week end... And as with the late night/early doors mix, it throws up its own challenges in terms of mixing. There are some long tunes in here and some long mixes.

Here is the next mix...had to redo it twice due to balls ups which hasn't happened for ages. It starts off with a ripper and doesn't let up...Hope you enjoy it.

This weeks mix is an interesting one (imho)....Kind of a progressive feel through the first two thirds and building from there. Again, not bowled over by a stampede of wicked tunes this week, but got by ok.

Well this podcast is a year old today.... hence the title. A few thousand downloads later and here we are, still humble but no longer at the beginning. Here's to another year of good breaks....

Well, sorry for another delay, but last weeks tunes were so dire that I held this one back until this weekend. There were 4-5 tunes that I wanted, and I looked back over the past four weeks in case had overlooked some half decent ones but no joy. I could have made a mix using some tunes that would not make the cut ordinarily, but decided against it. Anyway this mix is a belter in my opinion, hope you like it.

This weeks mix is up.... sorry for the delay, I was waiting for a new piece of equipment which didn't turn up....Anyway this mix felt like a ripper while I was doing it, and its a few seconds shy of an hour long, so one of the longest "regular" mixes i've done. Enjoy.

This weeks mix was a pleasure, loads of nice tunes available, and melded together nicely..... Gave it a good rinsing today whilst working on the house and im pleased with it. One of my favourites so far :)

Here is the next mix....bit of a change from last week but a more familiar style. There is a tongue in cheek tune in there if you can spot it ;) If there are any regular listeners, please spread the word. I am less than 100 downloads away from 2000!

First appologies for the delay,but no excuses...we are all busy people :) Due to a two week dry spell on the tunes front, i fell back on another set that i had been building for some time. The style is what i have always called "epic breaks" and shows another side of my musical taste. The name is in homage to part of one of my favourite mix cds....those who know will know ;)

This is the new mix. Again i struggled with tunes this week, i guess that just how it goes. It seems to be either famine or feast with tunes at the moment, or maybe my taste is narrowing down even more since ive started doing these mixes. Whatever the reason I hope you enjoy it.

Next mix up! There seemed to be a glut of decent tunes this week, and a nice progression through the set I think... This mix felt like a ripper whilst I was doing it, and on review I'm quite pleased with it apart from a couple of technical errors by me. Some weeks a set of tunes comes up that just seems to gel together into a set naturally, without the sort of issues I usually have to deal with. Anyway, hope you enjoy....And this week do me a favour and recommend it to one friend who might like these mixes.

Here is the next mix, a good eclectic selection covering most aspects of my breaks tastes. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out, as most of the tunes are slower than the speed i mix at, and sounded different when i was listening to them on my ipod in the week.

Here is the next mix...There is a nice proggy bit in the middle that reminds me of the old Bedrock days. Last month was my second best since i started which is great, so keep spreading the word if you enjoy these mixes.

Firstly apologies for the delay...fatherhood takes up a great deal more time that i had expected. Anyway here is the next mix, my favourite tunes from the mixes of 2012. It also fills the role of millenium mix, as i sneaked past 1100 downloads over Christmas! Enjoy.

So Dexter is finally home from the special care unit....Here is the latest mix, slightly behind schedule. The next few might be a bit loose on the release dates but bear with me.

This is a mix dedicated to my son Dexter, who was born prematurely on the 16th. As such it contains one of the mightiest selections of rippers, stinkers and face-melters that my archive can muster.....and some of my favourite tunes of all time. Hopefully i have done him proud, and when he comes home, his breaks journey will begin ;)

Here is the new mix....and aptly named. Its been a bit of a struggle this week. Having dropped two tunes from the original line up, and totally rehashed the order today, I totally negated all my prep work. On top of that I've got crippling man flu and can't hear the headphones properly ;) It might be a touch ropey in places, as i felt half dead whilst mixing it, despite downing a red bull in preparation. Who knows I might even have pulled it off....

No problems this week....plenty of tunes to choose from, so no need of any older ones. Some wicked tunes in here :)

Here is the new mix...fairly straight forward this week, just had a couple of rehashes and ended up dropping a couple of tunes. Less of a progressive feel than last week,so pecking birds should be out in force again.... Final tune is a face melter ;)

You've guessed it....The imaginative title of this weeks mix commemorates my 500th measurable download. Thanks to a late surge this week, I've been spared from choosing another name, which I have been struggling with all week. At least it's better than quincentenary mix.... Anyway, quite a progressive, epic feel this week...Hope you like it. Bring on the millenium mix ;)

This is the new mix...no problems getting enough tracks this week. Every one of these tunes is a brand-spanker, so this mix is a fresh as they get. This mix ended up being a bit of a pounder so there should hopefully be a few pecking birds out there.....

This is the new mix...another slightly tricky one that went through a couple of rehashes prior to being recorded. Hopefully they are improving each time, but this one did feel like a ripper as i was doing it. You be the judge.

This mix was a tricky one....After listening to over 250 tunes, i ended up with five that i liked. With this being nowhere near enough for a mix, I decided to make up the numbers with my older tunes. I have added the odd one to a mix before but never this many. There just seemed to ba a distinct lack of decent tunes last week. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it, it certainly proved a head scratcher.

Here is the next mix, a day late I know.....Made a balls up on the first recording and didn't have time to re record until today. This mix ended up being a bit of a peak time roller from start to finish, with no real build up tracks available that i liked. Also this mix features my first "remix" of a tune using my traktor kontrol F1, see if you can spot it. Hopefully you will enjoy it, and if you like it tell some friends who you think might like it.

Here is the next mix, i've been using a new effects unit so there might be some rough bits.

Finally the next mix! Holiday went fine...I may change to doing a mix every two weeks if the work gets too much. Im starting to use more samples and effects, and it takes longer to get a set ready and practice. If i do ill say so before hand. Anyway, heres the next mix - enjoy!
