What Am I Afraid to Change?

Episode 6 - What Am I Afraid to Change? When Knowing What You Want Isn’t EnoughKnowing what you want is one thing. Having the courage to move towards it is something else entirely. In Day 6 of Inuka, we explore the fear that often appears when we begin to imagine a different life — and why fear doesn’t always sound like fear. Sometimes it sounds like responsibility, practicality, timing, security or simply being “realistic.”Drawing from my own decision to step away from a career of more than twenty years, I reflect on the uncertainty of leaving behind a familiar income, professional identity, routine and status to pursue a life that feels more purposeful. I also share the vulnerability of starting Inuka itself — creating something imperfect, speaking openly about a deeply personal journey and choosing to share it before knowing where that journey will lead. But this episode isn’t about recklessly abandoning the life you’ve built. It’s about learning to distinguish genuine responsibility from the fear that keeps telling you to stay exactly where you are.And perhaps most importantly, it asks us to reconsider failure altogether. For me, the greater fear is no longer failure. It’s regret.Because trying, learning, changing direction and even having to start again are things I can live with. Reaching the later years of my life knowing I had the opportunity to pursue something meaningful but allowed fear to stop me would be much harder. So today, we ask:What am I afraid change will cost me?What is staying where I am already costing me?And which would be harder to live with — trying and discovering it didn’t work, or never trying and always wondering what might have been? You don’t have to change everything today. You just have to be honest about what you’re afraid to change.Inuka. Rise.Welcome to Inuka.Inuka means “Rise Up.” This podcast is an invitation to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the person you were always meant to be.Through honest conversations, practical reflection, and moments of quiet wisdom, each episode is designed to help you navigate life’s transitions with greater clarity, courage, and purpose.Whether you’re rebuilding after loss, questioning what’s next, seeking direction, or simply longing to feel more like yourself again, you’re welcome here. This isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about asking better questions.Rise. What Do I Actually Want?

Episode 5 – What Do I Actually Want?Separating Success from FulfilmentWhat happens when you achieve the things you thought would make you feel successful… only to discover they don’t feel quite the way you expected? In Day 5 of Inuka, we explore the difference between the life that looks successful and the life that actually feels fulfilling.Through personal reflection, we look at how family expectations, responsibility, approval and our own ideas of success can shape the choices we make; sometimes without us even realising it.We explore the clues our lives have already given us about what genuinely matters, why our skills and experiences are bigger than the roles we’ve used them in, and why outgrowing a chapter doesn’t mean that chapter was a mistake. And perhaps most importantly, we confront the fear that comes with admitting we may want something different. You don’t have to change your life today. You don’t even have to know what comes next. But perhaps you owe it to yourself to ask one honest question:What do I actually want?Inuka.Rise up….. towards the courage to discover what might genuinely be yours.Donate: ☕️ buymeacoffee.com/inukapodcafWelcome to Inuka.Inuka means “Rise Up.” This podcast is an invitation to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the person you were always meant to be.Through honest conversations, practical reflection, and moments of quiet wisdom, each episode is designed to help you navigate life’s transitions with greater clarity, courage, and purpose.Whether you’re rebuilding after loss, questioning what’s next, seeking direction, or simply longing to feel more like yourself again, you’re welcome here. This isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about asking better questions.Rise. Who Am I Without the Roles I’ve Been Playing?

Episode 4 – Who Am I Without the Roles I’ve Been Playing?Separating Your Identity from the Life You PerformWho are you when you’re not being the parent, the partner, the professional, the strong one, the dependable one, or the person everyone turns to?In Day 4 of Inuka, we explore the roles we learn to carry and what happens when those roles become so familiar that we begin to mistake them for who we are. This episode is an invitation to gently look beneath the titles, responsibilities and expectations that have shaped your life; not to reject them, but to recognise that they were never the whole of you.We begin to explore the difference between what you do and who you are, why stepping outside familiar roles can feel so uncomfortable, and what it might mean to become reacquainted with the person who has been carrying them all along. You don’t need to reinvent yourself. You don’t need to have the answer to “Who am I?” today.Perhaps, for now, it’s enough to become curious about the person beneath the roles.Inuka.Rise up — gently, patiently, into the person you’ve been all along.Donate: ☕️ buymeacoffee.com/inukapodcafWelcome to Inuka.Inuka means “Rise Up.” This podcast is an invitation to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the person you were always meant to be.Through honest conversations, practical reflection, and moments of quiet wisdom, each episode is designed to help you navigate life’s transitions with greater clarity, courage, and purpose.Whether you’re rebuilding after loss, questioning what’s next, seeking direction, or simply longing to feel more like yourself again, you’re welcome here. This isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about asking better questions.Rise. When Did I Stop Being Me?

Episode 2 – When Did I Stop Being Me?The Quiet Conditioning of a LifeWhat if you didn’t lose yourself overnight? In this episode of Inuka, we explore one of life’s most profound questions: When did I stop being me? But as the conversation unfolds, a deeper truth begins to emerge. Perhaps the question isn’t simply when….but how.Through honest reflection and relatable stories, we examine the quiet ways our families, cultures, workplaces, relationships, and experiences shape who we become. Not through force, but through love, praise, belonging, expectation, and survival. This isn’t a conversation about blame.
