Isago, Re-Membering Alkebulan
by Isago
In Kemetic History of Afrika, Dr Cheikh Anah Diop writes, “The ancient name of Africa was Alkebulan. Alkebu-lan “mother of mankind” or “garden of Eden”. Alkebulan is the oldest and the only word of indigenous origin. Also true because the mother of all mankind, Mitochondrial Eve has been traced back to the heart of Alkebulan. History demonstrates how Alkebulan’s children have had the cords that tie them to their mother systematically destroyed through the forces of colonialism, through Isago we re-member them to themselves to heal, and therefore heal humanity for an equitable world.
