To that end, we've decided to spend some time reminiscing about our own personal favourite VHS tapes and CD singles from the decade. We've each picked one VHS and single each to discuss, so tune in to find out which video cassette Alex was given by a famous (and unnamed) neighbour to make up his collection of one (1) VHS, which phrases from the original and best football bloopers tape are still used by Stu today when he needs a haircut, and which obscure CD singles the chaps have chosen to highlight as their favourites of the 90s, one of which already has a place in podcast lore...Also this time: 90s web addresses! It'll Be Alright In The Nineties - S3 E4 - The New Dignitas (in conversation with Teresa Stenson from My Teenage Diaries)
We've got another fantastic guest for you on IBAITN this week, as writer Teresa Stenson joins us to take a dive into her teenage diaries! Teresa is currently serializing her journals into the fantastic My Teenage Diaries online newsletter, and we were delighted to welcome her onto the show to read a few entries especially for us, as well as answering our vital questions on the decade. Come with us as we discover which Take That member Teresa was forced to 'get real' about not marrying, as well as some on the ground reporting from Doncaster on some of the defining moments of the decade. And there's a bit on Prince Charles (as was) doing the 'Full Monty' dance which still makes us shudder a bit, if we're honest. Also this time: Quentin Willson! The big blank from Chippenham Hospital Radio! Another update from the masonic lodge! And much, much more! My Teenage Diaries can be found at this link, and Teresa's beautiful handmade zines can be found here - we strongly recommend you check these out for more excellent 90s content! If you'd like to hear more from us, be sure to like and subscribe, and share your thoughts with us on all our social media channels, (NOW ON APPLE PODCASTS) found here on our LINKTREE. Next time: it's a return to motorsport as we talk 90s touring cars! We're bringing credit where credit has been lacking this time on the pod, as we're talking about the most underrated albums of the 90s. Stu and Alex each choose 3 underrated albums to discuss, as well as reading out all your reader correspondence on this topic. Tune in to find out which cassette was a staple of Alex's Walkman on childhood car journeys, which album inspired a limited edition Volkswagen Golf and which album Stu liked so much he accidentally taped it over his Dad's band's only album. Also this time: 90s chocolate bars! 8 year old trapped in a Jaguar! Old Blu-Tac! And much, much more!
