I sat down with Ora Schwartz amid the hecticness of our kids’ back-to-school schedules to explore what Elul means to us, and how we find inspiration in this month, if we do at all, through the words that keep coming up for me: Come as you are. Can we allow Hashem to seep more deeply into the lives we’re already living?
