  1. Boston Modular December 2025 Performance

My first time performing live with my Roland T-8.

  2. Boston Modular November 2025

My first performance at Boston Modular since the meetups moved to synthCube in Waltham, MA. Kick/snare are from a Plaits clone; hihats are distorted noise. Bass is PGH Waveforms -> MA35; disting mk3 provides tape echo with feedback filtered by PGH Filter. Korg SQ- 1 sequences the bass and clocks...

  3. Boston Modular May 2023 Performance

My performance at Boston Modular in May 2023. Playing Surge XT from my Arturia Keystep. One track, just using Surge XT's internal effects.

  6. Boston Modular September 2022 Performance

Didn't feel like doing modular this time around, so I brought my Game Boy with Game Boy Camera (it has a small sequencer/synth feature) and my Zoom MS-70CDR effects pedal and made noise with those instead.

  11. Boston Modular April 2022 Performance

Our local synth meetup group finally started meeting in person again. Dropped by and made some weird space-y noises.

My performance at Roslindale Porchfest 2021.

  18. Drone Day 2021

My day-late performance for Drone Day 2021, peformed using my Eurorack modular synth, Arturia Keystep, and Alesis SR-16.

  19. Old Cassette

Digitized a compact cassette I recorded a while ago, only to realize nothing in the house could properly play back tapes. Think it's my Casio CTK-6000 and Korg Monotron run through my Zoom MS-70CDR effects pedal. Was recorded on an old shoebox-style cassette recorder and played back from a…

  20. Boston Modular March 2021 Performance

My performance at the March 2021 online Boston Modular meetup. Generative, using Plaits and a live mic for sound sources, run through filters, delays, and reverb.

  21. Grooveboxy Techno

Been watching too many YouTube videos of old synths and grooveboxes. Decided to do something techno-ish.

  22. Folia Fibonacci 1

Modified my earlier Fibonacci program to add chords, fed in the chords for the Folia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folia) and set the right scale, and did another performance based on the output.

  23. Boston Modular November 2020 Performance

Our local modular synth meetup met on Zoom this month. Got my recording gear together and did a live performance from my bedroom, with my laptop propped up pointing at the synth. Didn't plan anything beforehand. Or use a keyboard. But it worked pretty well.

  24. Discordant Piano 1

Discordant Piano 1 by J.P. Tuttle

  25. Fibonacci 1

Did something a bit more experimental -- wrote a computer program to generate notes from the Fibonacci sequence (adding in a few rules to add accidentals to the otherwise C-major scale, and to add divisions and sections to the piece), and interpreted it on the piano. I accidentally repeated some…

  26. Contemplative Piano 2

Piano's back from repair -- figured I'd record more things.

  27. Radiophonic Walk 2

More strange noises from my Eurorack modular synthesizer.

  28. Piano Improv 2019-01-05

Found another piano recording I hadn't uploaded. Recorded directly on my Kawai ES8.

  29. Contemplative Piano 1

More soft piano music from my Kawai ES8.

  30. Even More Piano Improv

Just some late night-ish contemplative piano. Used the full-size (9-foot Kawai SK-EX) grand on my Kawai ES8, instead of the 6 foot (SK-5) one I usually use. Did a bit of limiting (-3dB in Audacity).

  31. Radiophonic Walk 1

An experiment using clocked recorded and live sounds, tape delay, reverb, and white noise.

  32. Radiophonic Journey 1

A modular performance partially inspired by early BBC Radiophonic Workshop material.

  33. Rain and Birdsong (Field Recording)

So I finally got around to doing some field recording -- it's what I originally bought my Zoom H5 for. Figured I'd record the rain this morning. The recording is just using the Zoom's internal mics pointed out my window, with the windscreen on.

  34. Piano And Organ Improv 2

    More piano and organ improv.

  35. Drone Day 2020 Performance

I performed at Drone Day 2019 at Artisan's Asylum last year. This year, I cobbled together a streaming setup and did my first 40-minute-long set live on Facebook, complete with multiple cameras and lighting. Okay, so they were webcams and Philips Hue, but it was quite fun!

  36. Ambient Piano 1

Ambient-ish piano on my Kawai ES8. Tape echo is from the Zoom MS-70CDR.

  37. Piano and Organ Improv

More piano improv, this time layering the SK-5 grand piano sound with one of the organ sounds.

  38. More Piano Improv

Haven't recorded too much piano lately, so I figured I'd record something. Might try my hand at streaming at some point in the future.

  39. Guitar Recording Test 1

Just a test of recording my guitar using the CabSim output on my Orange Crush 12. Recording was somewhat clipped, so I did some fixing in post, along with a bit of noise reduction. (I'm rather new to guitar -- only been playing a month so far.)

  40. Boston Modular March 2020 Performance

My March 2020 performance at Boston Modular. Ended up like an industrial Krell patch.

  41. Boston Modular February 2020 Performance at The Hearing Room

My February 2020 modular synthesizer performance at The Hearing Room in Lowell, MA. I used the Pittsburgh Waveforms for the drone and rhythmic notes, and enveloped white noise from the PGH Toolbox and SSF Ultra Random Analog for rhythm. Plaits in string mode was used for the lead, being run…

  42. Dorchester Art Project January 2020 Performance

My first performance at Dorchester Art Project, using my Eurorack modular synth. - The drums were Plaits into Terci Ruina, sequenced by a Korg SQ-1. - The lead sound was a PGH Waveforms sent through a Manhattan Analog MA35 filter, modulated by a PGH Envelope, played on an Arturia Keystep. - The...

  44. Ambient Techno 1

I got sample playback working on my Disting, so I figured I'd have some fun layering in a field recording I used on a techno track.

  45. Digital Landscape 1

An experiment in using frequency-modulated feedback loops and a quantizer to generate melodies and sounds. Had a few other bits of feedback as well -- reverb output going to inputs on the LFO, etc.

  46. Generative Experiment 3

An experiment using mixed LFOs and stepped random from the Ultra Random Analog to generate a melody, played on distorted sine waves from the Waveforms, with reverb, delay, and reverb from the Distings. Plaits is used in harmonic mode for a second voice.

  48. 0-Coast Sketch #2 - Semi-modular West-Coast Jazz

I've recently been using the Korg SQ-1 to generate random chromatic pitches, and found that I could get acoustic bass sounds from the 0-Coast, so I decided to experiment with a west coast synthesis approach to jazz, using the Slope circuit and random voltage circuit together to generate random...

  49. 0-Coast Sketch #1

A test of my new Make Noise 0-Coast, controlled using an Arturia Keystep, running through the tape echo and modulated reverb on my Zoom MS-70CDR effects pedal. I used the latched arpeggiator on the 0-Coast, but patched the synth to generate random gates for more variety.
