We take you behind the scenes on the latest updates on the team, interview players, coaches, and administrators, and get a first hand account of what it takes to make it in TBL. When Preparation Meets Opportunity: Interview with Zion Bradley
In the three losses this past weekend, all to the Grant County Redtails (12-6), Zion Bradley got the first two starts of his Jaguars career and showed out, averaging 19 PTS in the two games in Mattawa, WA. Moving forward, the Willamette Valley Jaguars (2–11) are headed on the road, flying to 4 Bears, North Dakota, to take on the 4 Bears Roar (17-1). Re-entering the Mix: Interview with Jaguars New Signing Troy Mix Jr.
As the Willamette Valley Jaguars (1-4) try to turn the 2026 season around, the Jaguars brought in reinforcements in the form of Troy Mix Jr., an instrumental piece in last year's team! After appearing in 17 games for the Jaguars in 2025 and averaging 13.6 PPG and 4.5 RPG, the Willamette Valley Jaguars officially announced on Sunday that Troy Mix Jr. is returning to the team. This week, Troy breaks down how the organization has changed from last season to now, his time spent on other teams in TBL's West Conference, what went into his decision to return to Oregon, and what he's looking forward to for the rest of the season. The Reset Button: Interview with Tayvion Johnson and Abion Khalifah
After a home loss against the Grant County Redtails, Tayvion Johnson and Abion Khalifah still hold the belief that the team is on the brink of a winning streak and changing the narrative about this team. The Jaguars just won their first game of the 2026 season and their second win in franchise history, and new Jaguars Mikah Johnson Jr. and Jarion Henry broke down the 102-95 win over the Tri-Cities Sun Devils The Jags head into next weekend 1-1, with a double header against Great Falls Electric, who are 3-2 in their season, on Friday and Saturday at Linn-Benton Community College. Jaguars Partner Spotlight: The Gate Community Youth Center
The Gate Community Youth Center offers free meals, after-school activities, mentoring, bible study, and auto mechanic tutorials to support the youth in Independence, OR. This year, they partnered with the newly formed Willamette Valley Youth League and hosted the first league in Independence, OR in October and November. This week, we had the pleasure of talking to Mykaela Anderson, the Program Director at The Gate, about her work with the organization, how the youth league has gone this year, and her upbringing and background. Jaguars Partner Spotlight: Akida Clips; First-ever Black-owned Barbershop in Linn County
How can someone balance being a business owner, barber, professional body builder, health/wellness coach, and motivational speaker? This week, we talked with Akida Ramsey, from Akida Clips, who partnered with the Willamette Valley Jaguars and the Willamette Valley Youth League in Independence, OR, in their first year. We discussed how he became the only professional bodybuilder from Linn County ever, how he came to own the first-ever black-owned barbershop in the county, his work as a health/wellness coach and a motivational speaker, and his battle with addiction and navigating mental health misdiagnoses.
