JaM Sessions - Season 4 Episode 5 - Mat Brennan of Princess
PRINCESS is a Progressive Rock power trio that fuses old-school grit with new-school precision. Led by seasoned guitarist Mat Brennan and joined by the educated talents of drummer Ty MacEachern and bassist Tanner MacDonald — two young musicians with depth far beyond their years — PRINCESS strikes a rare balance between raw expression and studied control.Their sound is bold, theatrical, and deeply musical — anchored by comfortably groovy arrangements, rich textures, and emotionally charged performances. The band’s Neo-Mystic Rock atmosphere mirrors their music: elegant, mysterious, with a little vulnerability. Each member brings a distinct musical voice shaped by years of experience, education, and collaboration. Together, they’ve crafted a sound that feels both instantly familiar and refreshingly original — serious musicianship with heart and edge.WebsiteBandCampSupport the show

JaM Sessions -Season 3 Episode 27 - Beach Babez
Beach Babez is a punk band from Pictou County, Nova Scotia who as it would seem have chosen to go with a “z” instead of an “s” in the spelling of their band name. Tasteful. Edgy. Ahead of the curve. That’s Beach Babez with a “Z”, thank you very much. Beach Babez: humble yet sophisticated culmination of a wide range of classic influences spanning between artists such as Cher, Garth Brooks and G.G. Allin. Move over, New Glasgow based skate punk, there’s new boys in town. Say hello to Nick, 32, and Rob, and say goodbye to Jeff. If any set could sound exactly like hell on earth, it would be Beach Babez’. Allegedly, they're working on new, "good" material, but we’ll believe that when we see it. Until then, experience the torturous sound of Nova Scotia’s least favorite alcoholics, and remember to stop by the merch table to pick up a “I survived a Beach Babez performance and all I got was as this lousy shirt” limited run long sleeve Tee. “The human rights violations committed by the members of the band “Beach Babez” are not something the international criminal court will be sweeping under the rug any time soon.” - Amnesty International “32 is in that band, right?” - Rob Long “I don’t know them, but I know of them” - Nick RockeyBeach Babez FacebookNick's EpisodeRawb's EpisodeSupport the show

JaM Sessions - Season 3 Episode 1 - Karen Myatt
Welcome to Season 3 Jammerz! Before I get into the show notes, I'd like to take a moment to talk with you about what you should expect in season 3.Over the holiday break, there have been some changes in the production team and a re-focusing of priorities.Due to these changes, the show is going to be a little different this season. Same, but different. JaM Sessions at it's core is about East Coast Musicians and the music they make. As I'm sure you're all very aware; I, Jeph am also one of those musicians and am in a band of my own. I am going to be putting more energy into that project this year so the podcast, will have to take a bit of a backseat.FRET NOT MY DEAR JAMMERZ! This doesn't mean it's going away or suffering "Podfade" as it's known as in the biz, but instead of weekly episodes, you'll be looking at perhaps 1 a month, hopefully more if I have the chance to stack a few interviews up and hopefully we'll be back in full swing soon enough. But just know that I'm still here, still rockin' (even a little harder these days) and still Jammin'!!So at the end of this episode when I say "...see you next week." This is no longer the truth, but you WILL see me again soon :)Thanks for your understanding and continued support! Please stay tuned to the socials to know what's coming and when!-Jeph And now, without Further ado... The Show notes:As Karen's own website FEMOIR.CA outlines:"After training at the Randolph Academy in Toronto and graduating from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City, Myatt performed across North and South America. In 2016, she produced and premiered “Ladies of Song” to sold-out audiences at Neptune Theatre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Both 2017’s “Songs of the Silver Screen” and 2018’s “Blues Deluxe” were equally successful, earning rave reviews.Other highlights include headlining the Halifax Jazz Festival and performing with Symphony Nova Scotia. Her first full-length album – Enchanté (2014) – was recorded in her hometown of Halifax, and features Holly Arsenault (piano), David Langstroth (double bass) and Brock Caldwell (drums). Her latest effort – Femoir – was recorded at The Sonic Temple Recording Studio in Halifax and was engineered by Darren van Niekerk.
