    Second heatwave?

    In this episode we’ll look at the week ahead and the changes that it will bring. The heat and humidity will return, although it will be much tamer than last time.

    More storms, then a comfortable weekend

    We’ve got a stubborn frontal boundary for tomorrow, and this will bring a better chance of showers and thunderstorms. Once this goes by, a nice air mass will move in. we may be looking at another heat wave though next week.

    Flood threat the next 24 hours!

    The heat is gone, but not the humidity. A stalled cold front and wave of low pressure will bring widespread showers and thunderstorms to the region into tomorrow night. Several inches of rain may fall, and there is a moderate risk for excessive rainfall.

    Extreme heat and humidity

    The schvitz is about to hit the fan! We have extreme heat warnings for the entire area though Friday. Many records will be challenged or broken, and triple digits will be common. We also see the threat for occasional thunderstorm clusters to come through.

    Extreme heat coming

    After a couple of days of reasonable weather, a strong ridge will build into the eastern U.S., and it will feel well in excess of 100 degrees Thursday and Friday. We’ll also take a look at the rapidly strengthening El Niño and what it might mean going forward.

    In this episode we’ll look at the busy pattern the next several days. We’ve got cool rain on Saturday, but a big warmup is probable next week.

    In this episode we’ll look at a strong frontal system threatening to bring flooding rainfall and severe storms to the area later tomorrow. Summer arrived early this morning. It’ll feel like it with the very humid air mass moving in, but we’ve got a very nice midweek ahead.

    A cold front will bring a risk of severe thunderstorms during the day tomorrow. We’ll also look at newly minted tropical storm Arthur and the flooding rains it’s bringing to the southeast. A delightful weekend is coming up, but heavy rain is looming for next week.

    In this episode we’ll look at two potential rounds for severe thunderstorms. One will come tonight, with a much cooler air mass to follow. We’ve got a better chance of severe weather Thursday afternoon with a cold front arriving in the afternoon.

    A weak low that has been torturing forecasters will bring some light accumulating snow tonight. Afterwards, the pattern will become more west-east oriented with milder weather and weaker systems. It will become unsettled though as a front stalls nearby later in the week.

    In this episode we’ll look at the forecast over the next several days. Temperatures will finally climb back to near seasonal norms, but we can’t rule out a couple of periods of snow.
